Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is a globally prevalent inflammatory disorder with limited therapeutic options due to efficacy-safety trade-offs. Herein, we rationally designed polyethylenimine (PEI)-functionalized curcumin-derived carbon dots (cu@CDs-po) as a multifunctional nanotherapeutic agent for colitis management. Combined experimental and computational analyses revealed that the synergistic interplay between surface-engineered amino and hydroxyl groups significantly enhanced the superoxide dismutase (SOD)-like activity of cu@CDs-po by 5.

Sepsis-induced acute lung injury (SI-ALI) requires urgent treatment due to severe inflammation. Our study found chlorogenic acid (CGA) suppressed LPS-induced macrophage activation by lowering NO, TNF-α, and IL-6. TPP-based strategies identified SLC37A2 as the direct target of CGA, validated by CETSA/MST.

Article Synopsis
  • Breast cancer is a serious health risk for women, and traditional treatments often fall short, leading researchers to explore combination therapies for better outcomes.
  • This study developed an injectable hydrogel by crosslinking sulfhydryl-modified hyaluronic acid with polydopamine, allowing it to deliver chemotherapy drugs effectively while also serving as a photothermal agent.
  • The hydrogel demonstrated the ability to both deliver drugs consistently and enhance anti-tumor effects through photothermal therapy, resulting in reduced tumor growth and increased cell death without notable toxicity.
