Accurate identification of water pollution sources and quantification of their impact on water quality are essential for effective pollution control and precise management of the water environment. This article proposes a quantitative polluter-attribution relationship (QPAR) model based on recombination of samples and confidence interval estimation to evaluate contributions of sand mining activities to water pollution, illustrated through a case study of Poyang Lake. Specifically, the control variable method reorganizes the time series samples to construct submodels that quantify the impacts of three factors on water quality. Subsequently, a point estimation model for predicting the water quality variation is established based on submodels. By analyzing interval prediction results at varying confidence levels using residual distribution assumptions and kernel density estimation, the QPAR model is constructed to quantify the impact of sand mining activities on water quality variations. The results indicate that the QPAR model facilitates the analysis of the contributions of various influencing factors to the variations in total phosphorus levels in Poyang Lake, as well as the calculation of permissible sand mining volumes under different water quality scenarios. Meanwhile, the model can assist local governments in planning sand mining activities to minimize pollution impact on downstream water quality.

Stress engineering is an effective way to tune the performance of semiconductors, which has been verified in the work of inorganic and organic single-crystal semiconductors. However, due to the limitations of the vapor-phase growth preparation conditions, the deposited polycrystalline organic semiconductors are more susceptible to residual stress. Therefore, it is of great research significance to develop a low-cost stress engineering applicable to vapor-deposited semiconductors.

Marine ecosystems, particularly estuaries, are increasingly threatened by anthropogenic pressures. The Odiel Estuary has suffered severe contamination from acid mine drainage and industrial activities. Since 1986, mitigation efforts have been implemented, yet their long-term ecological effectiveness remains under-evaluated.

Background: Water hardness, which refers to the level of dissolved calcium and magnesium salts, is of significant public health concern due to its potential impact on health. The association between water hardness and digestive diseases remains underexplored, with limited evidence from small-scale clinical studies. Given the rising prevalence of digestive disorders worldwide, large-scale cohort studies are needed to address this gap in the literature.

Frozen storage deteriorates the texture and digestibility of frozen rice dough by damaging gliadin structure and starch integrity. This study investigated carboxymethyl chitosan (CMCh) and sodium carboxymethyl cellulose (CMCNa) as cry-oprotectants to mitigate these effects. Comprehensive analysis utilizing nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), texture profile analysis (TPA), dynamic contact angle measurement (DCAT21), reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC), and circular dichroism (CD) demonstrated that 1.

Background And Aim: The search for sustainable and cost-effective protein alternatives to soybean meal in livestock diets has led to the exploration of legumes such as faba beans [FBs] ( L.). This study investigated the effects of dietary inclusion of FBs on carcass traits, meat quality, and selected blood parameters in Awassi lambs.
