Volumetric additive manufacturing (VAM) rapidly fabricates three-dimensional polymer structures by projecting images into a rotating vial of photosensitive resin. However, inevitable misalignment of this vial, the rotation system, and the projector limit the achievable resolution, fidelity and repeatability of VAM systems. In this work, we characterize the distinct impact of common misalignments through their distortion of a spherical test object. We then show that the ensemble of misalignments can be quantified with the addition of an imaging system. This information is then used to correct for the measured misalignment by modification of the projected images to enable reliable, high-resolution VAM dose delivery.

Purpose: Gadoxetic acid-enhanced hepatobiliary phase T-weighted (Tw) MRI is effective for the detection of focal liver lesions but lacks sufficient T contrast to distinguish benign from malignant lesions. Although the addition of T, diffusion, and dynamic contrast-enhanced Tw imaging improves lesion characterization, these methods often do not provide adequate spatial resolution to identify subcentimeter lesions. This work proposes a high-resolution, volumetric, free-breathing liver MRI method that produces colocalized fat-suppressed, variable Tw images from a single acquisition, thereby improving both lesion detection and characterization.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to analyze the correlation between volume change in disc herniations and pain improvement after CT guided periradicular therapy.
Methods: Between 5/2017 and 9/2023 46 volumetric MRI examinations of 18 patients suffering from lower back pain were compared to a control group, prior to and following periradicular infiltration therapy. The performed procedure included an image guided application of a glucocorticoid, a local anesthetic and a contrast agent close to the affected nerve root.

Objective: This study evaluates age- and sex-related differences in brain volume, including normalized gray matter (nGM), normalized white matter (nWM), cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) volume, and total intracranial volume (TIV) in cognitively normal adults using automatic volume segmentation on 3.0 Tesla MRI.
Methods: A prospective cross-sectional study conducted from October 2021 to September 2022 included 110 cognitively normal participants.

Sodium alginate-combined ultrasonic (SA-US) modification of wheat flour and corn starch was characterized to investigate its effects on batter properties and fried fish crispiness. This modification significantly increased hydration properties, and gelatinization temperature of wheat flour and corn starch (P < 0.05), while decreasing short-range structure, double helices, crystallinity, and starch granules' integrity.

Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) production via aerobic fermentation of Schizochytrium sp. is a green strategy, and the fermentation broth is a highly viscous, non-Newtonian fluid. In this study, the mixing and mass transfer of non-Newtonian fluids were enhanced using computational fluid dynamics combined with particle image velocimetry.
