The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of forage fiber and starch sources replacement with delactosed whey permeate (DLP) on lactation performance and total-tract nutrient digestibility of high-producing dairy cows. Ninety-six multiparous Holstein cows (88 ± 36 DIM) and dietary treatments were randomly assigned to 12 pens of 8 cows for an 8-wk treatment period, after a 2-wk covariate period. The objective of this experiment was to evaluate the effects of dietary starch concentration by replacing high-moisture corn with soy hulls and a direct-fed microbial (DFM) containing Bacillus subtilis 810 and Bacillus licheniformis 809 on the lactation performance, feeding behavior, total-tract nutrient digestibility, and enteric CH emissions of dairy cows. Sixty-four multiparous Holstein cows (67 ± 24 DIM and 729 ± 60 kg of BW at the beginning of the covariate period) were randomly assigned to 1 of 4 treatments with a 2 × 2 factorial arrangement for a 12-wk treatment period, after a 1-wk acclimation period and 2-wk covariate period. We report the first paramagnetic boron tetraradical, comprising four boraphenanthrene-type units with boryl radical centers bridged by a central tetraphenylethene (TPE) linker. With strongly π-accepting and sterically demanding cyclic(alkyl)(amino) carbene ligands (), spin densities localize on the boron-carbene fragments (92%), consistent with a true boron-centered tetraradical. Amid the ongoing global substance use crisis, prenatal health research has increasingly focused on the impact of both licit and illicit substance use on fetal development, and in particular brain development. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has become a critical non-invasive tool for investigating how such exposures influence the developing brain. In this review, we summarize findings from 25 peer-reviewed studies that leverage structural, functional, and diffusion MRI to examine the effects of prenatal exposure to alcohol, opioids, methamphetamines, cocaine, nicotine, or cannabis.

We previously reported that molecules containing two cyclic hydrazide units connected by a polymethylene linker could catalyze aldol condensations via a bifunctional mechanism. One hydrazide apparently provides nucleophilic activation, via enamine formation, while the other provides electrophilic activation, via iminium formation. Peripheral sensory neurons, once regarded merely as a passive route for nociceptive signals, are now acknowledged as active participants in solid tumor progression. This review explores how sensory neurons influence and are influenced by the tumor microenvironment (TME) through both chemical and electrical signaling, underscoring their pivotal role in the emerging field of cancer neuroscience. We summarize recent findings indicating that cancer-neuron interactions vary among different organs and experimental models, highlighting the ways in which various tumors recruit and reprogram sensory neurons to establish mutual communication loops that foster malignancy.

Glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1RAs) have experienced rapid growth in recent years as treatments for type 2 diabetes mellitus and obesity. These medications offer promising benefits, including weight loss and improved glycemic control; however, their implications for reproductive health warrant attention. While tirzepatide has been shown to impact absorption of oral contraceptives due to delayed gastric emptying, other GLP-1RAs do not appear to have clinically significant interactions with oral contraception.
