While individual perovskite and organic solar cells have demonstrated remarkable performance, achieving similar success in high-efficiency perovskite/organic tandem solar cells (TSCs) has been challenging, primarily due to large voltage deficits and severe non-radiative recombination. By exploring the fundamental mechanisms of carrier losses, we identify that imbalanced carrier transport, particularly inadequate hole transport in the organic subcell significantly limits the overall performance of perovskite/organic TSCs. Herein, we implement a hole transport self-assembled monolayer (SAM) anchored to MoO, which converts the inherently n-type MoO to a p-type surface. Further, a SAM/MoO/SAM sandwich hole transport configuration is introduced, which significantly enhances hole extraction, facilitating a more balanced carrier transport, and markedly suppressing non-radiative recombination at the interconnection layer (ICL). The resulting perovskite/organic TSCs achieve a power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 26.05%, with an open-circuit voltage of 2.21 V (certified at 2.216 V) and enhanced operation stability.

Renal fibrosis is the common pathological outcome of chronic kidney disease (CKD) progressing into end-stage renal disease. The excessive proliferation of fibroblasts plays an important role in the CKD progression. Nutrients such as amino acids and their transportation are essential for cell proliferation.

While fluorene-containing materials are widely used in organic optoelectronics as bright emitters and hole semiconductors, their diazafluorene analogues have been poorly explored, though their nitrogen atoms could result in electron transport and bring sensory abilities. Here, we report the synthesis, characterization, and detailed study of a series of 4,5-diazafluorene-derivatives with different donor/acceptor substituents and organic semiconductors based on these molecules. The crystal structures of all the materials were solved by X-ray diffraction, indicating the presence of extensive π-stacking and anisotropic charge-transfer pathways.

Oral delivery of natural antioxidants represents a promising therapeutic strategy for ulcerative colitis (UC), yet their therapeutic efficacy is hindered by instability and poor accumulation at inflamed sites. To address this, we developed Galectin-3 (Gal-3)-targeted nanoparticles (ZDP-NPs) by encapsulating diosmetin within zein complexes modified with a galactose- and rhamnogalacturonan-I (RG-I)-rich pectin (PMTP, Mw: 228.8 kDa, DM: 34.

Achieving high open-circuit voltage (V) continues to pose a significant challenge for kesterite CuZnSn(S,Se) (CZTSSe) solar cells, predominantly due to the pronounced charge carrier recombination occurring at heterointerface (HEI). To address this issue, an innovative non-metallic boron (B)-modification strategy is developed to optimize the HEI. The key advantages of this strategy are as follows: (i) Leveraging the strong bonding characteristic of B with three valence electrons, the dangling bonds on the absorber surface can be fully saturated, effectively passivating surface states without introducing new defects; (ii) Moreover, diffusion of B into the near-surface region of HEI during selenization process can create weak n-type B donor defects, which lowers the valence band maximum (VBM) of the absorber and mitigates Fermi level pinning.

This study reports the synthesis of bifunctional hollow double-layered mesoporous silica (HdlMS) nanoparticles as an effective support for enzyme catalysis. Using a self-template method combined with sol-gel processing, selective etching, and surface modification with alkyl groups and nitrogenous fatty amine groups, we successfully prepared the NH/C-HdlMS carrier. Phospholipase A1 was then immobilized onto this carrier to construct PLA1@NH/C-HdlMS, which was subsequently applied to the synthesis of docosahexaenoic-acid-enriched phosphatidylcholine.
