Article Abstract

Introduction: Common prosperity is a major research project in China, and the scientific measurement and evaluation of common prosperity is very important.

Methods: In this study, firstly, we construct a comprehensive evaluation index system for the common prosperity level (CPL). We then develop an evaluation model of CPL based on prospect theory, probabilistic linguistic ordered weighted distance measure, and the TOPSIS method, wherein we use a probabilistic linguistic term set (PLTS) to describe the uncertainty and complexity of the assessment process. Above all, we use prospect theory to reflect the preferences of experts to meet the unique needs for the evaluation of common prosperity. Moreover, we apply the proposed evaluation index system and model to evaluate the CPL of Zhejiang Province, China's first common prosperity demonstration zone, as an example to conduct relevant research. The advantages and effectiveness of the proposed method are verified by the sensitivity and comparative analysis.

Results: The findings prove that the application of the new PLTS evaluation framework in CPL assessment is robust.

Discussion: We propose specific suggestions for improving the development of common prosperity.

Older women as crone: A radical imaginary for the common good.

J Women Aging

September 2025

Institute for Social Innovation, Fielding Graduate University, Santa Barbara, California, USA.

Feminine traits associated with crone consciousness can help solve many challenges that North American societies face today. This descriptive study demonstrates how six older women, ages 63-74, who identify as crones, contribute significantly as board members, mentors, social workers, daughters, mothers, coaches, and community members. Crones were part of ancient prehistorical cultures and portrayed as wise healers.

The impact of individual health on relative poverty: evidence from China.

Front Public Health

August 2025

School of Political Science and Law, University of Jinan, Jinan, China.

Background: Following China's historic achievement in eradicating absolute poverty, the focus of anti-poverty policies has shifted to alleviating relative poverty, with health status playing a pivotal role in sustainable poverty reduction.

Methods: Based on the 2021 Chinese General Social Survey (CGSS 2021), we employed structural equation modeling (SEM) to analyze the relationship between individual health and relative poverty.

Results: The analyses showed a significant negative correlation between individual health and relative poverty.

Unified causality analysis based on the degrees of freedom.

Temporally evolving systems are typically modeled by dynamic equations. A key challenge in accurate modeling is understanding the causal relationships between subsystems, as well as identifying the presence and influence of unobserved hidden drivers on the observed dynamics. This paper presents a unified method capable of identifying fundamental causal relationships between pairs of systems, whether deterministic or stochastic.

Introduction: This study explores the relationship between physical exercise and charitable donation behavior in the context of China's pursuit of common prosperity. Specifically, it examines whether individuals who regularly engage in physical activity are more likely to donate to charitable causes and in greater amounts, as well as the psychological mechanisms underlying this relationship.

Methods: Using nationally representative data from the Chinese General Social Survey (CGSS2012), we conducted multivariate regression analyses to estimate the association between physical exercise and donation behavior.

Promoting the continuous income increase of the poverty-alleviated population has become one of the key tasks to consolidate the achievements of poverty alleviation, promote rural revitalization and achieve common prosperity. Based on the survey data of 738 farmers in six poverty-alleviated counties (cities) in an underdeveloped region in northwest China, this paper uses the endogenous transformation regression model to empirically explore the income-increasing effect of microcredit for the poverty-alleviated population, and uses the quantile regression model and OLS regression model to explore raising the low effect of microcredit for the poverty-alleviated population. The results show that: (1) Based on the counterfactual hypothesis, if the farmers who obtain microcredit for poverty-alleviated population are not loaned, their production and operating income will decrease by 3.
