Article Abstract

An I2-promoted, metal-free domino protocol for one-pot synthesis of 1,3,4-oxadiazoles has been developed via oxidative cleavage of C(sp(2))-H or C(sp)-H bonds, followed by cyclization and deacylation. In this reaction, the use of K2CO3 as a base is found to be an essential factor in the cyclization and the C-C bond cleavage. This procedure proceeded smoothly in moderate to high yields with good functional group compatibility.

A facile and efficient one-pot rongalite-mediated self-dimerization of 3-acylidene-2-oxindoles has been developed for the diastereoselective synthesis of highly functionalized dispirocyclopentanebisoxindoles. The reaction proceeds a domino sequence involving intermolecular Michael addition followed by intramolecular aldol cyclization under basic conditions. Rongalite, an inexpensive and readily available reagent (∼$0.

Developing low-temperature gas sensors for parts per billion-level acetone detection in breath analysis remains challenging for non-invasive diabetes monitoring. We implement dual-defect engineering via one-pot synthesis of Al-doped WO nanorod arrays, establishing a W-O-Al catalytic mechanism. Al doping induces lattice strain to boost oxygen vacancy density by 31.

In this study, a one-pot hydrothermal synthesis method was used to synthesize a novel gold-yttrium trimesic acid metal-organic framework (Au-Y-TMA MOF), demonstrating significant improvements over conventional single-metal MOFs, that is, yttrium trimesic acid (Y-TMA), in both supercapacitor applications and electrochemical antibiotic detection. The X-ray diffraction patterns of Au-Y-TMA confirmed the presence and impact of Au in the Y-TMA matrix, while field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) images revealed a heterogeneous combination of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) and Y-TMA, suggesting a nonuniform distribution and possible interaction. The developed half-cell supercapacitor exhibited a remarkable capacitance value of 1836 F/g at a current density of 5 A/g by galvanostatic charging-discharging (GCD) measurement.

A one-pot strategy was developed for the synthesis of α-substituted 2-benzofuranmethamines from salicylaldehydes, phenylacetylenes, and cyclic secondary amines using CuFeO as a bifunctional catalyst. The reaction proceeds at 80 °C in 1,4-dioxane using CsCO as a base, enabling sequential A-coupling, 5--dig cyclization, and 1,3-allylic rearrangement in a single operation. Unlike previous methods, this protocol employs non-precious metal catalysts and mild reagents, operates under moderate conditions, and provides direct access to α-substituted 2-benzofuranmethamines in good yields (80-96%) with broad substrate compatibility.

Strangles, a highly contagious disease caused by subspecies (), significantly impacts horse populations worldwide, with Iceland as the only exception. This disease poses serious threats to equine health and results in considerable economic losses. Consequently, the accurate, sensitive, and rapid detection of from clinical samples is essential for early warning and effective disease management.
