The extreme sensitivity of inorganic CsPbI perovskites to moisture imposes stringent humidity requirements during fabrication, severely limiting their practical applications. Herein, 3-iodopropyltrimethoxysilane (IPTMS) is introduced as a multifunctional additive into the perovskite precursor to address these limitations. During thermal annealing, IPTMS molecules undergo an hydrolysis-driven cross-linking reaction, consuming residual water while constructing a hydrophobic polysiloxane network at grain boundaries, thus effectively shielding films against moisture infiltration.

Understanding the relationships between the structure and optical properties of ligand-protected, atomically precise metal nanoclusters (NCs) is of paramount importance for exploring their applications in photonics, biomedicine and quantum technology. Here, two Au(SR) NCs protected by 2,4-dimethylbenzenethiolate (DMBT) and cyclohexanethiolate (CHT), respectively, are studied using time-resolved absorption and emission spectroscopies. Although the two NCs exhibit similar photoluminescence (PL) quantum yields (QY ∼ 0.

The topological nanopores of covalent organic frameworks (COFs) show promise as spatially confined nanoreactors for solar CO photoconversion. However, simultaneously increasing the electron density, improving the electron transfer, CO capture, and catalytic efficiency within nanopores remains a challenge for optimizing the performance of such nanoreactors. Here, micro- and mesoporous triazine-COFs were in situ grown on amino-modified BiVO nanosheets (BVO), respectively, obtaining two-dimensional heterojunctions.

However, the development of efficient NIR sensitizers remains a major challenge. Here, we report an atomically precise gold quantum rod, Au(PET) (PET = 2-phenylethanethiolate), as a high-performance photosensitizer for NIR-to-visible TTA-UC.

An in-depth understanding of the pathogenic mechanisms of is crucial for the prevention and control of this disease. Outer membrane vesicles (OMVs) play a vital role in bacterial pathogenesis, serving as key mediators of interactions between Gram-negative bacteria and their hosts.

Optical imaging provides real-time visualization of tissues and cells at high spatial and temporal resolutions through techniques such as fluorescence microscopy, optical coherence tomography and photoacoustic imaging. However, overcoming light scattering, caused by mismatches in the refractive indices of tissue components such as water and lipids, still represents a major challenge, particularly when imaging through the thicker biological tissues of living animals. Despite advances in deep-tissue imaging, many optical methods struggle to achieve diffraction-limited resolution at depth or are unsuitable for use in live animals.

The introduction of WS QDs enables the heterojunction to realize "double-enhanced absorption" by the synergistic effect of the natural nanoresonant cavity effect and the surface plasmon resonance effect (LSPR) of the WS QDs. Photodetectors constructed from the WS QDs/3D-graphene/Si heterojunction demonstrate a broadband, self-powered response from 440 to 1850 nm, maintaining stable operation at 1550 nm for 4 months.

While traditional positioning approaches primarily focus on mitigating NLOS effects to enhance accuracy, this research adopts an alternative perspective by leveraging NLOS propagation as valuable information, enabling precise positioning in NLOS-dominated environments. We introduce an innovative NLOS positioning framework based on the generalized source (GS) technique, which employs ray-tracing (RT) to transform NLOS paths into equivalent line-of-sight (LOS) paths.

In this study, we report a polymer wrapping method for phase transfer of organic soluble NCs into aqueous phase without degrading the electronic and optical properties, and such materials are further demonstrated for robust photocatalysis in water. We first synthesized a Au(DMBT) NC (DMBT = 2,4-dimethylbenzenethiolate) and found that the aromatic ligands confer a greatly enhanced antioxidation capability of the NC compared to the Au(CHT) counterpart (CHT = cyclohexanethiolate), with the critical role of aromatic ligand interactions identified by X-ray crystallography.

Aggregation of alpha-synuclein (αsyn) plays an integral role in Parkinson's disease (PD) and Dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB). 14-3-3θ is a highly expressed brain protein with chaperone-like activity that regulates αsyn folding. 14-3-3θ overexpression reduces αsyn aggregation, transmission between cells, and neuronal loss, while 14-3-3 inhibition promotes αsyn pathology.

Furthermore, both ZIKV and dengue virus encoding a split-FP-tagged NS2A propagated efficiently, and the split-FP-tagged ZIKVs had good genetic stability.

The epithelial lining of luminal organs provides an immune barrier against external factors and regulates the transport of nutrients, ions, and water into the body. Several conditions are associated with the breakdown or dysfunction of the epithelial lining. Short circuit current () measurement using a bulky, expensive, and hard-to-deploy system known as the Ussing chamber is the gold standard for evaluation of epithelial transport function but requires tissue excision.

Highly emissive gold nanoclusters (NCs) in the near-infrared (NIR) region are of wide interest, but challenges arise from the excessive nonradiative dissipation. Here, we demonstrate an effective suppression of the motions of surface motifs on the Au(PET) rod (PET = 2-phenylethanethiolate) by noncoordinative interactions with amide molecules and accordingly raise the NIR emission (875/1045 nm peaks) quantum yield (QY) from 18% to 50% in deaerated solution at room temperature, which is rare in Au NCs. Cryogenic photoluminescence measurements indicate that amide molecules effectively suppress the vibrations associated with the Au-S staple motifs on Au and also enhance the radiative relaxation, both of which lead to stronger emission.

Inorganic NiO has attracted tremendous attention in organic-inorganic hybrid perovskite solar cells (PSCs) in recent years but is relatively less used in all-inorganic PSCs. In this study, we have discovered and confirmed the detrimental interfacial reaction between NiO and DMAI-containing CsPbI inorganic perovskites. Thus, a self-assembled monolayer, Br-2PACz, is employed to modify the NiO surface to obstruct the adverse interfacial reaction and further improve the device performance.
