We present the draft genome sequence of a petroleum-degrading bacterium DG-1. The genome size of strain DG-1 is 6,734,315 bp with a GC content of 66.07%, which contains 6,213 genes, including crude oil degradation, biosurfactant synthesis, and quorum sensing, providing valuable insights into the mechanisms of petroleum biodegradation.

Hexabromocyclododecane (HBCD) and polyethylene (PE) microplastic are ubiquitous pollutants, and knowledge about the effects of HBCD and PE pollution on soil bacterial communities remains obscure. In this study, the effects of different HBCD and PE concentrations and combined HBCD and PE exposure on the diversity, composition, and function of agricultural soil bacterial communities over 4 months were systematically examined for the first time. Generally, soil bacterial communities were influenced in both the 1-month and 4-month scenarios through HBCD and PE separately as well as combined exposure.

This paper reviewed the factors influencing the preparation and experiments of nZVI/biochar composites, optimization methods, column experimental studies and the mechanism of Cr(VI) removal. The results showed that the difference in raw materials and preparation temperature led to the difference in functional groups and electron transfer capabilities of nZVI/biochar materials.

Tetracycline is an antibiotic that frequently contaminates the environment. In this study, the growth and metabolites of ryegrass seedlings treated with tetracycline (0, 1, 10 or 100 mg/L) for 5 days were investigated. The results showed that the growth of ryegrass and the concentrations of carotenoid and chlorophyll decreased as the tetracycline concentration increased.

Heavy metals and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) are ubiquitous pollutants at electronic waste (e-waste) contaminated sites, their individual impacts on soil microbial community has attracted wide attention, however, limited research is available on the combined effects of heavy metals and PBDEs on microbial community of e-waste contaminated. Therefore, combined effects of heavy metals and PBDEs on the microbial community in the e-waste contaminated soil were investigated in this study. Samples were collected from Ziya e-waste recycling area in Tianjin, northern China, and the soil microbial communities were then analyzed by the high-throughput MiSeq 16S rRNA sequencing to assess the effects of soil properties, heavy metals, and PBDEs on the soil microbial community.

This study explored the changes in the physicochemical properties of GO resulting from photochlorination- simulating the reactions that occur during water and wastewater treatment. Photochlorination resulted in significant changes in the surface oxygen-functionalities of the nanomaterials, and fragmenting of the graphenic carbon sheets was observed.
