Pain and pain-related psychiatric diseases affect approximately one-third of the global population, and effective treatment remains a lack of options. NACHT, LRR and PYD domains-containing protein 3 (NLRP3) inflammasome is regarded as a potential therapeutic target for managing pain and related psychiatric diseases. Our previous research reported that 1,2,4-trimethoxybenzene (1,2,4-TTB) effectively inhibited NLRP3 inflammasome activity.

To address the limitations of traditional single-motor bionic ornithopters in terms of environmental adaptability and lift capacity, this study proposes a dual-motor independently driven system utilizing a cross-shaft single-gear crank mechanism to achieve adjustable flap speed and wing frequency, thereby enabling asymmetric flapping for enhanced environmental adaptability. The design integrates a two-stage reduction gear group to optimize torque transmission and an S1223 high-lift airfoil to improve aerodynamic efficiency. Multiphysics simulations combining computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and finite element analysis (FEA) demonstrate that, under flapping frequencies of 1-3.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAmmonium perchlorate (AP), a widely used oxidizer in solid propellants, requires the incorporation of combustion catalysts to enhance its thermal decomposition efficiency. However, such modifications often compromise safety performance. Inspired by the rapid metal-ion-induced gelation of sodium alginate (Na-A), this study introduces a novel "droplet-solution contact assembly" strategy to encapsulate AP within a three-dimensional porous network framework derived from cobalt alginate (Co-A), thereby fabricating spherical AP/Co-A composites with simultaneously improved catalytic activity and safety.

Cytoplasmic polyadenylation element-binding protein 3 (CPEB3) regulates neuronal excitability, but its mechanism of action in epilepsy is not clear. In this paper, we investigated the effect of CPEB3 on seizures and elucidated its underlying molecular mechanism.

Purpose: This study is aimed to identify biomarkers for symptomatic radiation pneumonitis (RP) in patients with lung cancer treated with immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs).
Methods And Materials: This multicenter, prospective study enrolled patients with lung cancer receiving thoracic radiation therapy (RT) between 2021 and 2023. Plasma cytokines were measured using Luminex assays.
Depression and comorbid pain are frequently encountered clinically, and the comorbidity complicates the overall medical management. However, the mechanism whereby depression triggers development of pain needs to be further elucidated. Here, by using the chronic restraint stress (CRS) mouse model of depression and comorbid pain, we showed that CRS hyperactivated the glutamatergic neurons in the anterior cingulate cortex (ACC), as well as increasing the dendrite complexity and number.

Although there is evidence indicating that iron death might play a significant role, its molecular immunological mechanisms are largely unknown. This study was designed to analyze and explore the molecular mechanisms and immunological characteristics of iron death-related genes in epilepsy.

Chronic pain-related memory impairment has susceptible and unsusceptible features. Therefore, exploring the underlying mechanisms of its vulnerability is essential for developing effective treatments.

Resolving its low-temperature physics is, however, challenging theoretically or numerically. Ultracold fermions in optical lattices provide a clean and well-controlled platform offering a path to simulate the FHM.

Kagome spin ice is one of the canonical examples of highly frustrated magnets. The effective magnetic degrees of freedom in kagome spin ice are Ising spins residing on a two-dimensional network of corner-sharing triangles. Due to strong geometrical frustration, nearest-neighbor antiferromagnetic interactions on the kagome lattice give rise to a macroscopic number of degenerate classical ground states characterized by ice rules.

We report on the observation of photoassociation resonances in ultracold collisions between ^{23}Na^{40}K molecules and ^{40}K atoms. We perform photoassociation in a long-wavelength optical dipole trap to form deeply bound triatomic molecules in electronically excited states. The atom-molecule Feshbach resonance is used to enhance the free-bound Franck-Condon overlap.

The electric dipole moment distribution and polarization is used as a means of characterizing and understanding these complex systems. Various charge scheme methods were analyzed (Wannier function, Blöchl, Löwdin and Mulliken charge schemes and Voronoi tessellation) to determine their ability to predict dipole moments.

This study aimed to identify key proteins involved in the pathogenesis of epilepsy and find a potential drug target for SE treatment. Tandem mass tag (TMT)-based quantitative proteomic analysis was applied to screen differentially expressed proteins (DEPs) in epilepsy.

A LUAD dataset was acquired from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) to identify prognostic EMT-related lncRNAs via differential expression analysis and univariate Cox regression analysis. Least Absolute Shrinkage and Selection Operator (LASSO) Cox regression analysis was utilized for variable selection and model construction.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFLung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) accounts for the majority of lung cancers, and the survival of patients with advanced LUAD is poor. The extracellular matrix (ECM) is a fundamental component of the tumor microenvironment (TME) that determines the oncogenesis and antitumor immunity of solid tumors. However, the prognostic value of extracellular matrix-related genes (ERGs) in LUAD remains unexplored.

Redox plays a significant role in oncogenesis and antitumor immunity. In this study, we aimed to investigate the prognostic redox-associated genes and construct a redox-based prognostic signature for LUAD.

This exotic phase exists in the frustrated spin-orbit magnets where a dominant off-diagonal exchange, the so-called Γ term, results in a macroscopic ground-state degeneracy at the classical level. We demonstrate that the system undergoes a phase transition driven by thermal order by disorder at a critical temperature T_{c}≈0.

One of the major concerns in fog computing systems is how fine-grained access control can be imposed. As a logical combination of attribute-based encryption and attribute-based signature, Attribute-based Signcryption (ABSC) can provide confidentiality and anonymous authentication for sensitive data and is more efficient than traditional "encrypt-then-sign" or "sign-then-encrypt" strategy.
