With the deep integration of edge computing and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, the computational capabilities of intelligent edge cameras continue to advance, providing new opportunities for the local deployment of video understanding algorithms. However, existing video captioning models suffer from high computational complexity and large parameter counts, making them challenging to meet the real-time processing requirements of resource-constrained IoT edge devices. In this work, we propose EdgeVidCap, a lightweight video captioning model specifically designed for IoT edge cameras.

Background: Trastuzumab deruxtecan (T-DXd; 6·4 mg/kg) is approved for metastatic human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-positive (HER2+) gastric or gastroesophageal junction (GEJ) adenocarcinoma after a trastuzumab-based regimen. We report the final analysis of DESTINY-Gastric06, evaluating T-DXd in pretreated patients from China with advanced HER2+ gastric cancers (GC).
Methods: The single-arm, multicenter, phase 2 DESTINY-Gastric06 trial (NCT04989816) enrolled patients from China with HER2+ (immunohistochemistry [IHC] 3+ or IHC 2+; locally documented) advanced gastric or GEJ adenocarcinoma with two or more prior treatments.
Young human de novo genes, recently emerging from non-coding regions, are expected to contribute to human-specific traits and diseases. However, systematic explorations of this connection have been lacking. Here, we report 37 recently originated de novo genes in humans, with their evolution and characteristics defined within an updated genomic context.

BL-B01D1 is a first-in-class antibody-drug conjugate consisting of an EGFR-HER3 bispecific antibody bound to a topoisomerase I inhibitor (Ed-04) payload via a cleavable linker. Here, we present safety and efficacy data from a phase 1 study of BL-B01D1, in 82 patients previously treated for ESCC.

While cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) offers gold-standard structural assessment, current morphology-based AI models frequently overlook key biomechanical dysfunctions like diastolic/systolic abnormalities. To address this, we propose a dual-path hybrid deep learning framework based on CNN-LSTM and MLP, integrating anatomical features from cine CMR with biomechanical markers derived from intraventricular pressure gradients (IVPGs), significantly enhancing NICM subtype classification by capturing subtle biomechanical dysfunctions overlooked by traditional morphological models.

Methods: We performed a comprehensive analysis using datasets from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA), Cancer Cell Line Encyclopedia (CCLE), Genotype-Tissue Expression Project (GTE x), UALCAN, Star Base, and Comparative Toxicogenomics Database (CTD), and observed significant dysregulation of LRFN4 in multiple cancers compared to normal tissues.
Background: Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) + chemotherapy became standard her2-GC first line treatment.
Objectives: The aim of this study is to investigate whether ICIs + chemo provides benefit for patients with low programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) expression.
Design: This study is a systematic review and meta-analysis.
Osteosarcopenia is characterized by a simultaneous decrease in bone mass and muscle quality. Thus, determining the common pathogenesis between osteoporosis and sarcopenia may aid in identifying a solution. Secreted frizzled-related protein 1 (SFRP1), a Wnt/β-catenin pathway inhibitor, reportedly decreases during the osteogenesis process and is increased in osteoporosis and sarcopenia mice models.

However, the specific metabolic effects remain unclear. The aim of this study was to systematically compare the effects of four common sugar substitutes on a high-fat diet (HFD) combined with a streptozotocin (STZ)-induced T2DM mouse model from the perspective of hepatic glucose, lipid, and protein metabolism.

Objective: To compare the efficacy and safety of atezolizumab plus trastuzumab plus capecitabine and oxaliplatin chemotherapy (XELOX) vs trastuzumab plus XELOX in Chinese patients with locally advanced human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (ERBB2; formerly HER2)-positive GC or adenocarcinoma of the GEJ.
Design, Setting, And Participants: This was an open-label phase 2 randomized clinical trial conducted at 8 study sites in China.
Slow-release fertilizers (SRFs) have revolutionized agricultural practices by enhancing nutrient utilization efficiency and minimizing environmental contamination. However, conventional SRFs face significant limitations, including unpredictable release patterns, dependence on non-biodegradable synthetic coatings, and inadequate performance in arid soil conditions. To address these challenges, we have developed an innovative approach to transform agricultural waste biomass into a multifunctional lignin-based SRF with superior water retention properties.

Studies have shown that in emergency settings, the misdiagnosis rate of hand/wrist fractures can reach up to 29%, particularly among non-specialist physicians due to a high workload and limited experience. While existing AI methods can detect fractures, they typically require large training datasets and are limited to fracture detection without type classification.

Gastric cancer (GC) is a prevalent malignancy, and the discovery of biomarkers plays a crucial role in the diagnosis and prognosis of GC. However, current strategies for identifying GC biomarkers often focus on a single ribonucleic acid (RNA) class, neglecting the potential for multiple RNA types to collectively serve as biomarkers with improved predictive capabilities. To bridge this gap, our study introduces the GC biomarker relation graph convolution neural network (GCBRGCN) model which integrates the competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) network with GC clinical informations and whole transcriptomics data, leveraging the relational graph convolutional network (RGCN) to predict GC biomarkers.

Soil organic carbon (SOC) plays a crucial role in plant nutrient supply and soil physical, chemical, and biological function regulation. Factors such as climate change, human activities, and farm management practices can adversely affect SOC. Here, paddy soil in the double-cropping rice area of Hunan Province of China was cultured with eight kinds of organic materials, and the effects of organic fertilization on SOC content, humus content, and soil carbon sequestration efficiency were analyzed.

Individuals who have reached adulthood with PSIS are at an increased risk of developing metabolic disorders, including metabolic syndrome (MS) and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) or metabolic dysfunction associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD), which are also one of the main factors for the poor prognosis of these patients. An analysis was conducted on the clinical data of adult PSIS patients who visited the endocrinology department of the First Medical Center of the People's Liberation Army General Hospital from January 2005 to August 2023.

In the intelligent transportation field, the Internet of Things (IoT) is commonly applied using 3D object detection as a crucial part of Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) cooperative perception. However, challenges arise from discrepancies in sensor configurations between vehicles and infrastructure, leading to variations in the scale and heterogeneity of point clouds. To address the performance differences caused by the generalization problem of 3D object detection models with heterogeneous LiDAR point clouds, we propose the Dual-Channel Generalization Neural Network (DCGNN), which incorporates a novel data-level downsampling and calibration module along with a cross-perspective Squeeze-and-Excitation attention mechanism for improved feature fusion.
