Subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) induces multifaceted brain injuries, with white matter injury (WMI) exhibiting dual pathological features resembling traumatic brain injury and cerebral ischemia. Inflammatory responses triggered by SAH lead to extensive axonal and myelin disintegration in white matter, resulting in severe neurological dysfunction. Myelin regeneration post-injury primarily relies on promoting the differentiation of oligodendrocyte precursor cells (OPCs) into mature oligodendrocytes (OLs).

Objective: This study aimed to explore the relationship between serum levels of interleukin-17 (IL-17), interleukin-18 (IL-18), interleukin-22 (IL-22), interleukin-25 (IL-25), anti-BP180 antibodies, anti-BP230 antibodies, and immunoglobulin E (IgE) and the percentage of eosinophils (EOS) in peripheral blood and disease activity and severity in bullous pemphigoid (BP) patients.
Methods: Blood samples from 61 BP inpatients were collected on the first day of admission and again 1 week after systemic corticosteroid treatment. Additionally, blood specimens were collected from 61 healthy controls.
Aims: This cross-sectional study was conducted to assess the association of triglyceridemic-waist phenotype, waist-to-height ratio (WHtR), lipid accumulation product (LAP), visceral adiposity index (VAI), and triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index with prediabetes and diabetes (PAD) using data from the Ningxia Cardiovascular Disorders and Related Risk Factors Survey.
Materials And Methods: This study included 10,803 patients. Logistic regression analysis and restricted cubic splines were applied to identify the association between the PAD and each index.
Background: Maternal health during pregnancy appears to impact childhood cancer risk, yet comprehensive studies remain scarce. This study investigates associations between childhood cancer and multiple maternal comorbidities.
Methods: A population-based case-control study was conducted using Danish national registers, with maternal health conditions identified from the National Patient Register and Medical Births Registry.

In remote sensing, object classification often suffers from severe degradation caused by atmospheric turbulence and low-signal conditions. Traditional image reconstruction approaches are computationally expensive and fragile under such conditions. In this work, we propose a novel image-free classification framework using single-pixel imaging (SPI), which directly classifies targets from 1D measurements without reconstructing the image.

Background: This study aimed to develop and validate models for identifying individuals at high risk for metabolic syndrome (MetS) and pre-MetS using easily collectible indices.
Methods: A cross-sectional analysis was conducted using data from the Ningxia Cardiovascular Disorders Survey (NCDS) in China, collected between January 2020 and December 2021. The study population comprised 10,520 participants with complete demographic, anthropometric, and laboratory data.
Background: The diffusion tensor imaging analysis along the perivascular space (DTI-ALPS) index is a non-invasive marker of glymphatic function. Its relevance in classical trigeminal neuralgia (CTN), postoperative glymphatic changes after microvascular decompression (MVD), and associations with clinical and structural measures remain unclear. This study aimed to evaluate glymphatic dysfunction in CTN, examine postoperative DTI-ALPS alterations, explore correlations with clinical indicators, and assess relationships with hippocampal, amygdala, and ventricular volumes.

Method: This cross-sectional study utilized the Texas Inpatient Public Use Data File (PUDF) data on LTCF residents with dementia (n = 1,413) and without dementia (n = 1,674) to examine variations in their hospitalization outcomes of live place of discharge, comorbidity scores, and health insurance status.
Results: Dementia diagnosis increased risks of hospice care (OR = 1.
Developing conductive hydrogels has led to significant advancements in bioelectronics, especially in the realms of neural interfacing and neuromodulation. Despite this progress, the synthesis of hydrogels that simultaneously exhibit superior mechanical stretchability, robust bioadhesion, and high conductivity remains a significant challenge. Traditional approaches often resort to high filler concentrations to achieve adequate electrical conductivity, which detrimentally affects the hydrogel's mechanical integrity and biocompatibility.

In this study, a numerical model for the interaction of out-of-phase cavitation bubbles is developed using the hybrid thermal lattice Boltzmann method, where cavitation bubbles are solely excited by thermal nucleation. Furthermore, a new temperature distribution function for thermal nucleation is proposed, enabling a more stable generation of cavitation bubbles.

However, there is limited research on the use of VR to engage the general public in raising awareness about ADRD.
Objective: This research aimed to examine the impact of the VR video "A Walk-Through Dementia" on YouTube users by analyzing their posts.

However, they are challenging to combine into a single mechanoreceptive electronic skin for healthcare monitoring and humanoid soft robots. We introduce an elastically resilient, crack-tolerant, amphibiously adhesive, and strain-sensitive electronic skin (ERCAS-skin) featuring a hierarchical and gradient design.

Inspired by this reaction, it is proposed that solid bismuth metals can react with dissolved oxygen and water molecules in an aqueous environment, forming an ultrathin oxyhydroxide layer on their surfaces. The lattice mismatch between the surface oxyhydroxide layer and the underlying pure metal enables the mechanical exfoliation of detached 2D oxyhydroxide nanosheets.

Background And Aims: Resident satisfaction is a critical indicator of the quality of care in long-term care facilities (LTCFs). Yet, the relative importance quality of care factors in predicting resident satisfaction remains unclear for guiding resident support initiatives. This study aims to identify the relative contribution of personal and facility care service factors as predictors of satisfaction LTCF residents.

In 2001, Tang's team discovered a unique type of luminogens with substantial enhanced fluorescence upon aggregation and introduced the concept of "aggregation-induced emission (AIE)". Unlike conventional fluorescent materials, AIE luminogens (AIEgens) emit weak or no fluorescence in solution but become highly fluorescent in aggregated or solid states, due to a mechanism known as restriction of intramolecular motions (RIM). Initially considered a purely inorganic chemical phenomenon, AIE was later applied in biomedicine to improve the sensitivity of immunoassays.

Optical differential operation is an ultra-fast edge information extraction technology that enables identifying the image features, whereas current optical differentiators mainly operate along one or two differential orientations and is incompetent for switching the differential orientation. A reflection-type orientation-switchable optical differentiator is proposed and the BK7-MoS interface is used as an example to analyze the edge detection performance. Theory suggests that there are dual modulation methods, one is tuning the incident polarization angle with a Brewster incident angle, and the other one is altering the incident angle with a nearly vertical incident polarization angle.
