This study investigated the effects of fine-grinding wheat bran on pregnant sow body condition, lipid metabolism, inflammatory response, and gut microbiota. In this study, wheat bran was crushed into three particle sizes. A total of 60 Landrace × Yorkshire second parity sows were allotted to two groups: CWB (a diet containing coarse wheat bran with particle size of 605 μm) and FWB (a diet containing fine wheat bran with particle size of 438 μm).

This study aimed to investigate the extent of and factors associated with the discordance between perceived risk and actual risky sexual behaviors among undergraduates in mainland China, guided by the Anderson's behavioral model.
Methods: This study involved a secondary analysis of cross-sectional data collected during the fall semester of 2018-2019 academic year.
A new type of hydroxyalkyl starch, γ-hydroxypropyl starch (γ-HPS), was prepared by etherification of alkali-activated starch with 3-chloropropanol. The reaction efficiency, morphological change, thermodynamic and apparent viscosity properties, and other physicochemical characteristics were described. The molar substitution (MS) of modified whole starch was determined to be 0.

In this paper, we propose a synchronization-assist photolysis MC system that aims to transmit the biosensing signal of the tumor microenvironment, facilitated by mitigating redundant molecules for improved bit error rate (BER) performance. Benefits from biocompatible MC, biosensors could transmit biosensing signals of the tumor in vivo instead of converting them to electrical signals.

The Planetary Health Diet (PHD) proposed by the Lancet Commission is considered as a sustainable diet that meets human's nutritional demands yet poses less pressure on the environment. In this study, we examine how the economic condition, i.

To improve on the poor strength and flame retardancy of a chitosan (CS)-based functional film, cellulose nanofiber (CNF) was taken as the reinforced material and both ammonium polyphosphate (APP) and branched polyethyleneimine (BPEI) as the flame-retardant additives in the CS matrix to prepare the CS/CNF/APP/BPEI composite film by simple drying. The resulting composite film showed good mechanical strength, with a tensile strength reaching 71.84 Mpa due to the high flexibility of CNF and the combination of CS, CNF and BPEI through strong hydrogen bonding interactions.

Dietary intervention and nutraceuticals provide safe and long-term beneficial effects for treating metabolic diseases. Flazin is a diet-derived bioactive constituent mainly existing in fermented foods, of which the lipid metabolism improvement function has not been studied.

Previous computational methods for predicting lncRNA-miRNA interactions lacked for plants, and they suffer from various limitations that affect the prediction accuracy and their applicability. Research on plant lncRNA-miRNA interactions is still in its infancy.

As an adjuvant treatment widely used in acute ischemic stroke (AIS), XNJ has proven to be effective with certain clinical evidence. The aim of this study is to collect the latest evidence and evaluate efficacy and safety of XNJ for emergency treatment of AIS.

Introduction: retinal age derived from fundus images using deep learning has been verified as a novel biomarker of ageing. We aim to investigate the association between retinal age gap (retinal age-chronological age) and incident Parkinson's disease (PD).
Methods: a deep learning (DL) model trained on 19,200 fundus images of 11,052 chronic disease-free participants was used to predict retinal age.
Nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) is a severely inflammatory subtype of nonalcoholic fatty liver. Endoplasmic reticulum stress (ERS) and oxidative stress (OS) cause metabolic abnormalities, promote liver steatosis and inflammation, and are central to the development of NASH. Dihydroartemisinin (DHA) is a compound extracted from Artemisia annua that is often used in the treatment of malaria.

Background And Objective: Atherosclerosis is a leading cause of potentially serious cardiovascular diseases such as heart attack, stroke, and peripheral artery disease. Due to the prolonged and non-reversible process of thickening arteries walls, atherosclerosis plaques in the blood vessels are formed that restrict the blood flow. Early detection plays a vital role in minimizing the risk as there is no reliable method to detect the early stage of the disease.

Purpose: To explore the effect of image-guided systems in phacoemulsification with intraocular lens (IOL) implantation.
Methods: We searched Pubmed, Embase and China National Knowledge Infrastructure (inception to January 20, 2021). Two researchers extracted data and assessed paper quality independently.
Abnormal DRP1 expression has been identified in a variety of human cancers. However, the prognostic potential and mechanistic role of DRP1 in head and neck cancer (HNC) are currently poorly understood. Here, we demonstrated a significant upregulation of DRP1 in HNC tissues, and that DRP1 expression correlates with poor survival of HNC patients.

Currently, volanesorsen is considered to be used to treat patients with FCS and HTG to improve symptoms. To evaluate the effect of volanesorsen on lipid metabolism in patients with FCS, we performed a systematic evaluation and meta-analysis.

Circadian nuclear receptor Rev-erbα is an essential and negative component of the circadian clock. To date, the expression profile and biological function of Rev-erbα in platelets have never been reported.

No medication has been shown to be effective in the prevention or treatment of chemotherapy-induced neurotoxicity. Using minoxidil as an initial template for structural modifications in conjunction with an in vitro neurite outgrowth assay, an image-based high-content screening platform, and mouse behavior models, an effective neuroprotective agent CN016 was discovered.

Temperature and N content were found to be the most important factors driving variation in bacterial and fungal communities, respectively; Bacillus became the most abundant bacteria and Batrachochytrium became the most abundant fungi. Co-occurrence network analysis showed that some bacteria including Halomonas, Truepera, and Gemmatimonas species carry genes that promote mineralization, nitrification, dissimilatory/assimilatory nitrate reduction, denitrification, anammox reactions, and N fixation.

Direct intra-myocardial (IM) injection is the gold standard, however, it is relatively invasive. Background: This study discusses the anti-inflammatory mechanism of Yiqi Huayu Jiedu decoction (YQHYJD) and studies the intervening effect of YQHYJD on the inflammatory cytokines in acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) rats by inhibiting the TLR4/NLRP3 signal pathway. The aim of the probe is to provide evidence to support the identification of therapeutic targets in Chinese medicine treatment, which broadens the alternatives for the treatment of ARDS.

Background: The confounding effects of antipsychotics that led to the inconsistencies of neuroimaging findings have long been the barriers to understanding the pathophysiology of schizophrenia (SZ). Although it is widely accepted that antipsychotics can alleviate psychotic symptoms during the early most acute phase, the longer-term effects of antipsychotics on the brain have been unclear. This study aims to look at the susceptibility of different imaging measures to longer-term medicated status through real-world observation.
