Autologous nerve transplantation is currently recognized as the gold standard for treating severe peripheral nerve injuries in clinical practice. However, challenges such as a limited supply of donors, complications in the donor area, and the formation of neuromas necessitate the optimization of existing transplantation strategies. Additionally, the development of new and promising repair methods is a critical issue in the field of peripheral nerve research.

Case Presentation: We report the case of an 89-year-old male diagnosed with advanced renal cell carcinoma who developed immune-related interstitial lung disease after treatment with sintilimab injection combined with axitinib.
Background: Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is an important source of bioactive compounds, hence enjoying a wide application in clinical treatment, while its pharmacodynamic material basis remains difficult to elucidate as it has a complex chemical composition. Piper longum L is a commonly used herbal medicine in prescriptions for chronic kidney disease (CKD), yet its key active ingredients responsible for anti-renal fibrosis effects remain unclear. This study aimed to establish a novel and efficient strategy for the screening and identification of anti-fibrotic compounds from Piper longum L.

Cosavirus (CoSV) and Salivirus (SalV) are two novel picornaviruses that are associated with human diseases. However, epidemiological data on these viruses in China remain limited. In this study, we conducted the first simultaneous investigation of CoSV and SalV in a city of eastern China by wastewater-based epidemiology (WBE) method.

Ferroptosis, characterized by iron-dependent lipid peroxidation, emerges as a promising intervention target for intestinal barrier protection. Rutin, a natural polyphenol with established anti-inflammatory properties, holds therapeutic potential for UC, yet its mechanisms involving ferroptosis regulation and barrier enhancement remain unexplored.

The mediodorsal thalamus (MD) constitutes an integral component of the medial nociceptive transmission system, although its precise role and related neural pathway in pain processing remains incompletely elucidated. While anatomical studies have confirm reciprocal projections between the MD and anterior cingulate cortex (ACC), the functional contribution of ACC-MD neural circuitry to nociceptive regulation has not yet been systematically investigated. In this study, we used immunohistochemistry, pharmacogenetic manipulations, and multidimensional behavioral assessments to investigate the role of the MD and ACC-MD pathway in pain modulation.

Methods: We retrospectively collected clinical data from the hospital information system (HIS) from January 2022 to December 2023. The data were collected from patients who were admitted to a tertiary hospital with a first occurrence of minor IS/TIA diagnosed within 14 days and treated with short-term DAPT.
Interparental hostility is a risk factor for adolescents' problematic smartphone use (PSU). However, the mechanisms implicated in this association remain unclear. Using three-wave, multi-informant data from 364 Chinese parent-child dyads over the junior high school years (grades 7-9, M = 12.

Objective: To investigate the therapeutic effect of Ningmitai Capsules (NMT) on chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CP/CPPS) and its action mechanism.
Methods: We equally randomized fifteen 6-8 weeks old male Wistar rats into a sham operation, a model control and an NMT group, and established a CP/CPPS model in the rats by intra-prostatic injection of complete Freund adjuvant (CFA). We treated the rats in the sham operation and model control groups by injection of aseptic phosphate buffer saline (PBS) and 50 μl complete Freund adjuvant (CFA), respectively, into the ventral lobe of the prostate followed by gavage with purified water from the second day after surgery, and those in the NMT group with 50 μl CFA injected into the ventral lobe of the prostate followed by gavage with 3 ml NMT suspension at 400 mg/kg/d from the second day after surgery.

Apoptosis is a critical outcome of stress-induced processes, with the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) playing a central role in apoptotic protein processing and stress signal transduction. Profiling the ER proteome during stress to cell death offers valuable insights into these processes, but existing methods often suffer from a loss of in situ information or requirement of genetic manipulation. In this study, we introduce CAT-ER, a nongenetic ER proteomics system that provides in situ labeling, spatiotemporal resolution, and compatibility across diverse cell types.

This study examines the optimization of space heating in a nearly-zero energy building (nZEB) located in Oslo, Norway, under cold climatic conditions. The research question explores how advanced control strategies can balance heating costs and thermal comfort efficiently.

Stem cell-derived therapies have attracted attention for their potential neurodegenerative and reparative effects. Intranasal administration provides a non-invasive route that bypasses the blood-brain barrier and delivers stem cell derivatives directly to the brain.

Grounded in the stress process model, the present study examined the potential mediating roles of mindfulness and various forms of emotion regulation strategies (general: cognitive reappraisal and expressive suppression; self-care specific: self-compassion) in the associations between victimization by family members and peers (childhood psychological maltreatment and peer victimization) and COVID-19 PTSD symptoms among adolescents.
Method: Three-wave survey data were collected from 844 Chinese junior high school students (51.

Recent progress has shown great potential of visual prompt tuning (VPT) when adapting pre-trained vision transformers to various downstream tasks. However, most existing solutions independently optimize prompts at each layer, thereby neglecting the usage of task-relevant information encoded in prompt tokens across layers. Additionally, existing prompt structures are prone to interference from task-irrelevant noise in input images, which can adversely affect the sharing of task-relevant information.

Biochar has garnered considerable attention for its potential to improve soil properties due to its unique characteristics. However, the precise measurement of soil water content using electromagnetic sensors becomes challenging after biochar is incorporated. This study investigated the impact of biochar on soil water content measurement by adding biochar of varying dosages and particle sizes to a typical loess, under both room and subzero temperature conditions by using time domain reflectometry (TDR) and frequency domain reflectometry (FDR) techniques.
