Mandibular defects caused by congenital anomalies, oncologic resections, trauma, or infections impair essential functions such as mastication, speech, and facial aesthetics, necessitating reconstruction to restore both biomechanical integrity and quality of life. While fibula osteocutaneous flaps remain the gold standard for complex defects due to their versatility, the deep circumflex iliac artery (DCIA) bone flap-historically limited by inconsistent vascular anatomy and technical harvesting challenges-provides anatomical advantages but lacks reliable soft tissue utility. The chimeric DCIA perforator flap (DCIAPF) addresses these limitations by utilizing terminal DCIA skin perforators to create thin, well-vascularized skin paddles independent of muscular branches, thereby reducing bulk and donor-site morbidity.

Ovarian tumor (OT) is the most lethal form of gynecologic malignancy, with minimal improvements in patient outcomes over the past several decades. Metastasis is the leading cause of ovarian cancer-related deaths, yet the underlying mechanisms remain poorly understood. Psychological stress is known to activate the glucocorticoid receptor (NR3C1), a factor associated with poor prognosis in OT patients.

Background: Changes in human posture directly impact the structures of various body parts, often leading to musculoskeletal disorders. While identifying suitable treatments for pain associated with long-term postural abnormalities is important, preventing such conditions is demonstrably a superior solution. Spiral stabilization, known for its practical application, has proven effective in treating low back pain.

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation, Chaihu Shugan San formula (CHSGS), known for its efficacy in alleviating liver Qi stagnation syndrome, has exhibited therapeutic benefits in cancer management. Macrophages are key immune cells in the tumor microenvironment, and their phagocytic and clearance functions for tumor cells play a crucial role in the occurrence and progression of tumors.

To study the effects of elevated atmospheric CO concentration and warming on the contents and stoichio-metry of soil organic carbon (SOC), total nitrogen (TN), total phosphorus (TP) in paddy field is of great significance for understanding the functions of paddy ecosystem under climate change. Based on the T-FACE platform, we conducted an experiment with four treatments: ambient conditions (CK); elevated atmospheric CO concentration up to 600 μmol·mol; warming of canopy air by 2 ℃ over ambient; elevated atmospheric CO concentration up to 600 μmol·mol combined with warming of canopy air by 2 ℃ over ambient. The contents of SOC, TN, TP, soil organic carbon composition, soil bulk density (BD), soil water content (SWC) and particle size composition were measured.

Methods: Retrospective data from 17 tertiary centers (2018-2021) were analyzed.
Inclusion Criteria: primary TIP surgery with complete anatomical and follow-up data.

Background: The medial patellofemoral ligament (MPFL) is the most important passive restraint of the medial patella and provides approximately 53% to 80% of medial soft-tissue restraints, although its relationship to the parapatellar structures is still not completely understood.
Methods: Twenty-six formalin-fixed knees (13 for P45 plastination, 10 for dissection, and 3 for histology) were obtained from cadavers donated to the Department of Anatomy at Dalian Medical University. The mean age of the donors was 78.
The joint dysfunction caused by osteoarthritis (OA) is increasingly becoming a major challenge in global healthcare, and there is currently no effective strategy to prevent the progression of OA. Therefore, better elucidating the relevant mechanisms of OA occurrence and development will provide theoretical basis for formulating new prevention and control strategies. Due to long-term exposure of cartilage tissue to the hypoxic microenvironment of joints, metabolic reprogramming changes occur.

Background: To analyze causes of recurrence following radical mandibular resection of ameloblastoma, and to propose surgical variation.
Methods: We conducted a retrospective analysis of patients treated for ameloblastoma from 2012 to 2024, specifically those who underwent radical mandibular resection followed by reconstruction with autologous bone flaps, focusing on cases of recurrence.
Results: Six patients were included in the study, all with primary tumors located in the mandible.

Early rescue intracytoplasmic sperm injection (Re-ICSI) can prevent total fertilization failure (TFF) during conventional fertilization (IVF). However, the implantation rate of Re-ICSI embryos is lower than that of direct ICSI during fresh embryo transfer (ET). The aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of frozen ET (FET) after Re-ICSI.

Methods: A retrospective review of 119 patients who underwent surgical resections of SCC of the FOM and flap reconstructions was conducted. A Student t test was used to examine the statistical differences in operative time, length of hospital stay and complications among groups with different reconstructions.
The suboccipital cavernous sinus (SCS) and the myodural bridge complex (MDBC) are both located in the suboccipital region. The SCS is regarded as a route for venous intracranial outflow and is often encountered during surgery. The MDBC consists of the suboccipital muscles, nuchal ligament, and myodural bridge and could be a power source for cerebrospinal fluid circulation.

Background: Mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) is an aggressive B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL). REGγ is important for tumor occurrence and development, but understanding of the specific role of REGγ in MCL is lacking. We aimed to identify REGγ effects on the proliferation and apoptosis of MCL cells and clarify the underlying mechanisms.

Background: Hypospadias is a common congenital malformation in pediatric urology with surgery being the only curative treatment. Although there are hundreds of surgical methods for hypospadias, no single method can treat all types, and there are still high rates of postoperative complications. We performed this study to investigate surgical procedure selection and perform risk factor analysis of postoperative complications in hypospadias repair.

The present study reported a case of bilateral salpingectomy for an ectopic pregnancy with recurrent parthenogenesis over two fertilization (IVF) cycles. The first IVF cycle resulted in short-time fertilization. Two cleaved embryos were present after removing the cumulus cells.

It has recently been proposed that the MDBC can influence cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) circulation. In the present study, bleomycin (BLM), a type of antibiotic that is poisonous to cells, was injected into the posterior atlanto-occipital interspace (PAOiS) of rats to induce fibrous hyperplasia of structures in PAOiS.

We performed a retrospective study comparing D5/D6 HBs in fertilization/intracytoplasmic sperm injection (IVF/ICSI) for all blastocyst frozen cycles. Patients were <35 years at the oocyte collection in their first fresh cycle without fresh transfer.

Methods: We retrospectively included 879 HCC patients with AFP-positive who underwent hepatectomy from February 2012 to October 2017 and randomly divided into training cohort and validation cohort. AFP ratio was equal to the AFP level within one week before hepatectomy to AFP level within 20-40 days after surgery.
Background: To explore the efficacy and toxicity of simultaneous modulated accelerated radiotherapy (SMART) concurrently with cisplatin (CDDP) and S1 (tegafur/gimeracil/oteracil) in elderly patients with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC).
Methods: This single-arm, phase II study enrolled pathologically confirmed, stage II-IVa ESCC of 70-80 years old and Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group performance status (ECOG PS) 0-2. Patients received SMART (64 Gy to gross tumor volume and 48 Gy to clinical target volume in 30 fractions) with concurrent CDDP (day 1 of each week) and S1 (days 1-14, 22-35).
Background: The SOX gene family has been proven to display regulatory effects on numerous diseases, particularly in the malignant progression of neoplasms. However, the molecular functions and action mechanisms of SOX genes have not been clearly elucidated in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC). We aimed to explore the expression status, prognostic values, clinical significances, and regulatory actions of SOX genes in ccRCC.
