As a proton-gated cation channel, the acid-sensitive ion channels (ASICs) is capable of sensing changes in the extracellular pH value. ASICs are widely distributed and apart from physiological functions, play a role in various diseases related to acidity, such as pain, inflammation, and ischemia. Moreover, studies have shown that ASICs also have an impact on the occurrence, development, invasion, metastasis, and drug resistance of tumors under acidosis conditions.

Background: This study evaluated the presentation of pulmonary sclerosing pneumocytoma (PSP) in F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography (F-FDG PET/CT) with the aim of increasing awareness of the disease.
Methods: Retrospective analysis was performed on 46 PSP patients who had F-FDG PET/CT before surgery or pathological examination from January 2011 to December 2023. The F-FDG PET/CT manifestations of PSP were summarized, and the correlation between the maximum diameter of the tumor and PET metabolic parameters was analyzed, including the maximum standardized uptake value (SUV), the mean SUV (SUV), the peak SUV (SUV), metabolic tumor volume (MTV) and total lesion glycolysis (TLG).
Hyperlipidemia-associated acute pancreatitis (HLAP), an acute inflammatory disorder triggered by dyslipidemia, has witnessed a rising global incidence with significant health implications. The pathogenesis of HLAP involves complex interactions among lipid metabolism dysregulation, inflammatory cascades, and oxidative stress. Conventional therapeutic approaches, while providing partial symptomatic relief, exhibit limitations in addressing individual variability.

However, the mechanisms and prevention of gastrointestinal immune dysfunction remain unclear. We demonstrate that maternal high vitamin D (VitD) level can rescue abnormal intestinal immune phenotypes in offspring that exhibit autism-like phenotypes due to exposure to maternal inflammation.

This study highlights the important role of the NR3C2-SIRT1 signaling axis in the metastasis mechanism of CRC. Our findings revealed that the expression of NR3C2 in CRC tissues was lower than that in adjacent non-cancerous tissues, and was negatively correlated with N stage by bioanalysis, IHC, western blot and qRT-PCR.

Exosomes transport a variety of bioactive components between cells and are crucial for cell‒cell communication in multiple complex biological processes, including cancer. Although a few studies have shown that exosomes encapsulate microRNAs that induce a pro-EMT tumor microenvironment, a systematic survey of potential EMT-related regulators in lung cancer exosomes is still lacking.

Triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) remains a particularly challenging subtype worldwide. Our study aims to evaluate whether Fluorodeoxyglucose Positron Emission Tomography/Computed Tomography (F-FDG PET/CT) parameters, clinical pathological features, and biochemical indicators serve as prognostic risk factors for TNBC.

In recent decades, the escalating frequency of environmental risk events, arising from sources such as industrial accidents, chemical spills, or other anthropogenic activities, has intensified threats to the ecological environment. The targeted identification of high-risk areas, formulation of control lists for key risk sources within regions, and the implementation of differentiated management strategies remain significant challenges. This study employed an administrative region environmental risk assessment and gridded environmental risk analysis method to comprehensively evaluate the environmental risks in the city of Kunming, China.

Background: The tumor microenvironment plays an important role in cancer progression, especially acidic microenvironment which distinguish cancer from normal tissues and immune microenvironment. This study was the first to investigate whether acidic microenvironment affects colorectal metastasis through MET and the relationship between MET and immune microenvironment.
Methods: We used TCGA and GEO databases to predict MET expression, its relationship with clinical features, and biological function it mediated, and validated its expression with clinical data, as well as to verify that MET mediates acidic microenvironment-induced colorectal cancer metastasis by inducing EMT at the cellular and animal levels.

Acidic microenvironments is a cancer progression driver, unclear core mechanism hinders the discovery of new diagnostic or therapeutic targets. ASIC3 is an extracellular proton sensor and acid-sensitive, but its role in acidic tumor microenvironment of colorectal cancer is not reported. Functional analysis data show that colorectal cancer cells respond to specific concentration of lactate to accelerate invasion and metastasis, and ASIC3 is the main actor in this process.
