Heteromaterials made of two different components have been widely studied; their interfacial bonding is essential to control their properties. How to prepare a chemically bonded metallic interface remains elusive, despite its importance for structural and functional materials. Here we synthesized a family of homologous metal heteromaterials (HMHs) featuring chemically bonded metallic interfaces, which endow them with strong interfacial binding forces and metallic conductivity.

Background: Inherited thrombophilia (IT) is a genetically determined predisposition to thromboembolic events. Beyond the well-known G20210A mutation, there has been limited research on other prothrombin mutations in the Chinese population.
Objectives: This study aimed to identify and characterize a novel prothrombin mutation in a Han Chinese family with IT.
Heat stress (HS) has severely restricted the growth and yield of poultry. Reversal light-dark cycles (RLD) are a low-cost and highly effective method to regulate circadian rhythms. However, current studies have not demonstrated whether this method can improve the intestinal injury induced by HS in broilers.

Background: The global prevalence of pregestational type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) has increased concurrently with increasing rates of overweight and obesity. Effective weight management during pregnancy is critically associated with maternal and neonatal outcomes. However, no universally accepted guidelines for gestational weight gain (GWG) in high-risk pregnancies with T2DM currently exist.

However, challenges such as weak signal intensity and insufficient selectivity remain in the detection of low-concentration mixed gases. To overcome these limitations, this study proposes a machine learning-enhanced silicon nitride-based micro-ring resonator chip for the detection and recognition of methane (CH), carbon dioxide (CO), and hydrogen sulfide (HS) gas mixtures.

Introduction: This study aims to explore the potential of LMNB1 and LMNB2 as prognostic risk factors in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and investigate small-molecule drugs targeting both for therapeutic application.
Methods: LMNB1 and LMNB2 expression in HCC was assessed using TCGA data and validated in clinical specimens. Kaplan-Meier and Cox models evaluated prognostic relevance.
Background: Among the rapidly developing single-incision laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC) techniques, transumbilical single-incision LC is increasingly replacing the traditional LC, with advantages of minimal invasion, slight postoperative pain, faster recovery. Despite the advantages mentioned above, the currently available specialized single-port laparoscopic instruments are hindered by high costs and limited applications, challenging their widespread use in medical facilities.
Aim: To design a two-point lifting/retracting (TPLR) technique for transumbilical single-port LC (TUSPLC) based on the anatomical features of the Calot's triangle (or cystohepatic triangle) and investigate its surgical feasibility.
As a fine-grained sentiment analysis subtask in the natural language processing (NLP) community, aspect-based sentiment analysis (ABSA) aims to predict the sentiment polarity of the aspect terms according to the given sentence. In previous research, external affective knowledge has been utilized to enhance the representation of the sentiment information contained in the text, which has achieved impressive progress in ABSA task. However, it is worth noting that the external knowledge employed is usually leveraged from the single-dimensional perspective, which lacks diversified and multiple-dimensional exploration and leads to insufficient comprehension of the complex sentiment information.

This study aimed to review a series of adolescents with RPD who underwent robot-assisted physeal-sparing medial patellofemoral ligament (MPFL) reconstruction, compare the clinical results with those of a non-robot-assisted group, and measure the vertical distance between Schöttle point and the physis intraoperatively.
Methods: This retrospective clinical analysis included 55 adolescents with RPD who had no significant bone deformities and underwent MPFL reconstruction using either a robot-assisted technique or a non-robot-assisted method between February 2019 to November 2023.

Background: Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a complex neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by heterogeneous symptoms and neurobiological features, which hinders the identification of reliable biomarkers. Until recently, ASD neuro-subtyping has emerged to detect neural features in each subgroup.
Methods: We implemented neuro-subtyping of ASD using a semi-supervised clustering method, HeterogeneitY through DiscRiminative Analysis (HYDRA), guided by the labeling information of ASD/controls, together with a multi-scale dimension reduction method of high-dimensional input features.

Background: Increased nuchal translucency (NT) during first-trimester ultrasound (US1) is linked to genetic and congenital abnormalities. However, its relevance in the era of non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT) remains debated, and data on pregnancy outcomes in cases of increased NT with normal NIPT results are limited. The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlation between NT thickness and perinatal outcomes considering the results of NIPT and the findings of US1.

However, the precise mechanisms are incompletely understood. The proNGF-p75NTR-sortilin signaling pathway is closely associated with nigrostriatal dopaminergic (DA) neuron degeneration, a hallmark feature of PD.

Although the Axl-SOCS3 axis in myeloid cells typically suppresses inflammation, TEC-specific SOCS3 deletion paradoxically protects against AKI, suggesting a cell type-specific pro-inflammatory role.
Methods: We induced AKI via bilateral ischemia/reperfusion (IRI) in mice.
Purpose: To investigate the associations between maternal glucose and lipid metabolism and adverse pregnancy outcomes in women with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM).
Methods: A retrospective cohort of pregnant women with T2DM who delivered at Peking University First Hospital was included. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression were used to identify risk factors.

L-glufosinate (L-PPT) is a chiral herbicide with high herbicidal activity, environmental friendliness and significant market potential. The kinetic resolution of commercially available DL-PPT into optically pure L-PPT through four-enzyme one-pot biocatalysis presents a promising approach. D-amino acid oxidase (DAAO) catalyzes the conversion of D-PPT to 2-oxo-4-[(hydroxy)(methyl)phosphinyl] butyric acid (PPO), playing a critical role in the synthesis of L-PPT.

Study Design: Case series; Level of evidence: 4.
Nanopolymer microspheres have been widely studied in the development of low-permeability reservoirs as an effective material to improve foam stability. However, there are few studies on the foam stability mechanism of nanopolymer microspheres. In this work, the effect of surface hydrophobicity of fluorescent nanopolymer microspheres PARC(Flu-Ac) on the stability of CO foam was investigated by using foam performance as an evaluation index.

High mobility group box 1 (HMGB1) is considered a pivotal mediator and biomarker in inflammatory diseases, garnering increasing attention for precise detection. Silicon on insulator (SOI) integrated waveguide biosensors have the advantages of high sensitivity, easy functionalization, and compatibility with CMOS technology, promising enhanced sensing of HMGB1. Here, we propose a chip-scale, cost-effective HMGB1 sensor device based on a micro-ring resonator (MRR), which is surface functionalized by a chemical bonding method.
