Objectives: The atherogenic index of plasma (AIP) has been reported as a biomarker for cardiovascular disease risks and clinical outcomes. However, few studies have investigated the relationship between the AIP and major adverse cardiovascular events (MACEs) after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI).
Design: Prospective observational study.

Background: Adult trauma patients with refractory acute cardiopulmonary failure suffer from high morbidity and mortality. In the past decade, a growing body of researches has shown survival benefits of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) in trauma patients who fail to respond to optimal damage control resuscitation (DCR), and there is an opportunity to formulate clinical practice guidelines to guide clinicians in implementing trauma ECMO at the bedside.
Methods: The Chinese Society of Extracorporeal Life Support (CSECLS) convened a domestic panel of interdisciplinary experts to develop this guideline, adhering to the principles of the World Health Organization (WHO) Manual for Guideline Development and the policy of conflict of interest.
Objective: To understand the infection status and disease spectrum distribution of patients with hospital-acquired Multidrug-resistant Organism (MDRO) Infections in an intensive care unit (ICU) before, during, and after the () Pandemic, and provide a basis for the prevention and control of hospital-acquired MDRO infections.
Methods: Data from the Second People's Hospital of Fuyang City's ICU was analyzed from three periods: pre- (January 1, 2018-December 8, 2019), during (December 9, 2019-December 7, 2022), and post- (December 8, 2022-December 31, 2023). The study compares the disease spectrum of MDRO infections patients across these periods.
Aortic dissection (AD) is a severe aortic disease characterized by high morbidity and mortality. However, the primary treatments for AD possess limited efficacy. The role and specific mechanisms of mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase 2 (MAP2K2) in AD are not elucidated.

This study evaluated the sustained multigenerational effects of chlorantraniliprole on , focusing on resistance development, growth, development, reproductive capacity, population parameters, and nutritional indicators. After continuous selection with sublethal chlorantraniliprole for eight generations (CX-Sub), bioassays showed that CX-Sub had 225.

Materials And Methods: A systematic literature search was conducted across PubMed, Embase and the Cochrane Library to identify randomized clinical trials (RCTs) published up to October 31, 2024. Primary outcomes included changes in glycated haemoglobin (HbA1c) and hypoglycaemia risk.
Introduction: A new perspective on cancer metabolism suggests that it varies by context and is diverse. Cancer metabolism reprogramming can create a heterogeneous microenvironment that affects immune cell infiltration and function, complicating the selection of treatment methods. However, the specifics of this relationship remain unclear in breast cancer.

Vernalization is a quantitative process whereby extended cold exposure establishes a stable transcriptional repression, with the degree of silencing correlating with the length of cold treatment. While much is known about the genes regulating this process, the expression dynamics at the single-cell level remain elusive.

Materials And Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted in patients diagnosed with acute heart failure or acute exacerbation of chronic heart failure treated with levosimendan. The patients were divided into arrhythmia and non-arrhythmia groups based on the presence of rapid-type arrhythmias.
Background: Breast cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths among women worldwide. Deciphering the molecular mechanisms of breast cancer is crucial for developing targeted therapeutic approaches.
Methods: This study analyzed gene expression profiles from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database to identify differentially expressed genes (DEGs) in breast cancer.
Genetic degeneration is a striking feature of Y chromosomes, often involving losses of many genes carried on the X chromosome. However, the time course of gene losses remains unclear. Sex chromosomes of plants evolved more recently than animals' highly degenerated ones, making them ideal for studying degeneration timing.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFPhotodynamic therapy (PDT) has emerged as a promising modality for cancer treatment, but its clinical application is constrained by unexpected phototoxicity arising from nonspecific photosensitizer activation and their "always-on" nature. Herein, we developed a switchable nanophotosensitizer, poly(cation-π) nanoparticles (NP), which achieves supramolecular assembly through cation-π interactions. By coupling choline cationic moieties with aromatic photosensitizers (ZnPc), the polymer facilitates self-assembly driven by cation-π interactions for NP engineering.

This meta-analysis systematically evaluated the optimal time to prolong aromatase inhibitors ( AIs) therapy for postmenopausal early stage breast cancer who received initial endocrine therapy.
Methods: PubMed, Web of Science, Ovid, Scopus, EmBase, and Cochrane Library were searched for randomized controlled trials (RCTs) using keywords related to breast cancer, HR-positive, AIs, and tamoxifen (TAM).
Background: The tumor microenvironment of breast cancer encompasses a broad spectrum of immune cell populations. These cell populations are biologically/clinically relevant to varying degrees. The causal relationship between these immune cells and breast cancer remains uncertain despite their relevance.

Evidence from several studies indicates that a significant proportion of tumor patients derive limited benefit from immunotherapy as a monotherapy, with vascular abnormalities in solid tumors contributing to immune evasion. Numerous studies, both domestic and international, have assessed the efficacy of combining immune checkpoint inhibitors with antiangiogenic agents across various tumor types.

Recent studies have shown that the prevalence of HFpEF is higher in women than that in men, particularly in postmenopausal women. Concurrently, it has been observed that the incidence of risk factors contributing to HFpEF (such as obesity, hypertension, diabetes, and atrial fibrillation) also notably increases post-menopause, affecting the incidence of HFpEF.

Background: The emergence of targeted therapies and immunotherapy has broadened treatment options for patients with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). Despite this, traditional drug selection, predominantly relies on tumor markers and clinical staging, has underutilized these drugs due to ignoring patient genomic diversity. Patient-derived organoids (PDOs) and corresponding patient-derived organoid xenograft (PDOX) models offer a way to better understand and address this.

In hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) individuals, the influence of numerous variables on the HCC prognosis has gained widespread recognition. Nevertheless, there remains a need for further elucidation regarding the underlying mechanism of PANoptosis-related genes (PRGs) on HCC. A consensus clustering approach, based on the TCGA-LIHC data, was used to identify specific subtypes linked to PANoptosis in this study.
