Background: Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) has become the most prevalent chronic liver disease globally, imposing a significant burden on public health systems. But the link between air pollutants and NAFLD is still unclear, which highlights the need for a systematic meta-analysis to integrate existing evidence.
Objective: This study aims to systematically evaluate and quantify the association between exposure to major air pollutants and the risk of NAFLD through a meta-analysis of existing literature.
LiFePO (LFP) undergoes a two-phase transformation during lithium insertion or extraction, forming lithium-rich and lithium-poor phases. Determining the kinetic parameters of these phases is crucial for electrochemical models but remains challenging. In this study, we decouple the reaction and diffusion kinetics of the Li-rich and Li-poor phases in LFP cathodes using single-particle electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS).

These cell populations are biologically/clinically relevant to varying degrees. The causal relationship between these immune cells and breast cancer remains uncertain despite their relevance.

Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is considered to be the most dangerous type because of the lack of specific therapeutic targets and rapid progression. The emergence of ferroptosis provides a new therapeutic perspective for TNBC.

Objective: Clarifying the mechanism of FC against TNBC.

In hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) individuals, the influence of numerous variables on the HCC prognosis has gained widespread recognition. Nevertheless, there remains a need for further elucidation regarding the underlying mechanism of PANoptosis-related genes (PRGs) on HCC. A consensus clustering approach, based on the TCGA-LIHC data, was used to identify specific subtypes linked to PANoptosis in this study.

Approximately 50% of the patients with ulcerative colitis (UC) are primarily nonresponsive to anti-tumor necrosis factor (TNF) therapy or lose their responsiveness over time. The gut microbiota plays an important role in the resistance of UC to anti-TNF therapy; however, the underlying mechanism remains unknown. Here, it is found that the transplantation of gut fecal microbiota from patients with UC alters the diversity of the gut microbiota in dextran sulfate sodium-induced colitis mice and may affect the therapeutic responsiveness of mice to infliximab.

Here, we found that the spike (S) protein, the major vaccine antigen of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), strongly suppresses host innate immunity by inhibiting interferon-stimulated gene (ISG) expression through both S1 and S2 subunits. Mechanistically, the S protein inhibited the formation of the classic interferon-stimulated gene factor 3 (ISGF3) complex composed of STAT1, STAT2, and IRF9 by competing with STAT2 for binding to IRF9, thereby impeding the transcription of ISGs.

Cyclovirobuxine D (CVB-D), a natural alkaloid extracted from the traditional Chinese herb Buxus sinica, is renowned for its cardioprotective and anti-ischemic effects, demonstrating notable anti-cancer properties. Nevertheless, the anti-tumor effects of CVB-D on TNBC remain unverified.

The objective of our study is to establish a reliable marker for predicting clinical outcomes and treatment responses in patients with clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) using genes related to ubiquitination (URGs). The URGs subtypes were identified using consensus clustering based on TCGA-KIRC, and a signature containing the prognostic differentially expressed genes of the subtypes was determined using LASSO and Cox regression analysis.

This randomized controlled trial assessed the impact of combining Butylphthalide and Atorvastatin on neurological function, quality of life and vascular endothelial function in 124 individuals with acute cerebral infarction. Participants were randomized into control and experimental groups, with the latter receiving the combination therapy.

Background And Aims: Physicians are required to spend a significant amount of reading time of magnetically controlled capsule endoscopy. However, current deep learning models are limited to completing a single recognition task and cannot replicate the diagnostic process of a physician. This study aims to construct a multi-task model that can simultaneously recognize gastric anatomical sites and gastric lesions.

Background: Nomilin is a limonoid compound known for its multiple biological activities, but its role in triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) remains unclear. This study aims to uncover the potential therapeutic effect of nomilin on TNBC and elucidate the specific mechanism of its action.
Methods: We employed weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA), differential expression analysis, and the GeneCards database to identify potential targets for TNBC.
The individual variation of carcinogenesis and drug response is influenced by the absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion (ADME) of drugs. The utilization of signatures derived from ADME-related genes holds potential for predicting prognosis and treatment response across diverse cancer types. Further investigation is required to completely understand the role of ADME-associated genes in breast cancer.

Numerous studies have substantiated the involvement of histone acetylation imbalance in the progression of diverse tumor types. The potential roles of long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) in improving prognostic, predictive as well as therapeutic approaches in cancers have made it a major hotspot in recent years.

A thorough understanding of T cell exhaustion (TEX) in the TME is crucial for effectively addressing TEX in clinical settings and promoting the efficacy of immune checkpoint blockade therapies. In eukaryotes, numerous cell surface proteins are tethered to the plasma membrane via Glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI) anchors, which play a crucial role in facilitating the proper translocation of membrane proteins.

Traditional methods usually rely on predefined rules, which are difficult to adapt to various driving scenarios. Deep reinforcement learning (DRL) shows advantages over rule-based methods in complex self-driving environments, demonstrating the great potential of intelligent decision-making.
