Zebrafish has full capacity of heart regeneration, but little is known about how blood cells, especially platelets, are involved in this regenerative process. The rising demand for cost-effective and safe energy storage systems has ignited strong global interest in advanced cathodes that surpass lithium-ion batteries in practical applications. Herein, we propose a composite material in which five ions, Ti, Mn, Fe, Zr, and Mo, are doped into the lattice of NaV(PO) and a uniform carbon-coating layer is applied to its surface, resulting in the formation of high-entropy doped NaV(PO)@C materials (HENVP@C). When employed as the cathode material for Sodium-ion batteries (SIBs) and hybrid lithium/sodium-ion batteries (HLSIBs), HENVP@C shows remarkable Li/Na storage capabilities.

Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of mortality with very limited therapeutic interventions, thus holding great hope for cardiac regenerative medicine. A recent work from Martin's laboratory reports their identification of a fetal-like cardiomyocyte progenitor, adult cardiomyocyte type 2 (aCM2), and its potential interactions with C3 cardiac fibroblasts and C3ar1 macrophages to form a regenerative cellular triad, which is only present in the regenerative heart models, YAP5SA-expressing adult hearts and neonatal hearts. Orchidaceae, with more than 25,000 species, is one of the largest flowering plant families that can successfully colonize wide ecological niches, such as land, trees, or rocks, and its members are divided into epiphytic, terrestrial, and saprophytic types according to their life forms. Cellulose synthase () and cellulose synthase-like () genes are key regulators in the synthesis of plant cell wall polysaccharides, which play an important role in the adaptation of orchids to resist abiotic stresses, such as drought and cold. To improve our understanding of the origin and evolution of mycoheterotrophic plants, we here present the chromosome-scale genome assemblies of two sibling orchid species: partially mycoheterotrophic Platanthera zijinensis and holomycoheterotrophic Platanthera guangdongensis. Comparative analysis shows that mycoheterotrophy is associated with increased substitution rates and gene loss, and the deletion of most photoreceptor genes and auxin transporter genes might be linked to the unique phenotypes of fully mycoheterotrophic orchids. Conversely, trehalase genes that catalyse the conversion of trehalose into glucose have expanded in most sequenced orchids, in line with the fact that the germination of orchid non-endosperm seeds needs carbohydrates from fungi during the protocorm stage.

Rambutan is a popular tropical fruit known for its exotic appearance, has long flexible spines on shells, extraordinary aril growth, desirable nutrition, and a favorable taste. The genome of an elite rambutan cultivar Baoyan 7 was assembled into 328 Mb in 16 pseudo-chromosomes.
