Prevalence and correlates of anxiety disorders and depressive disorders among older adults with non-communicable diseases: results from China Mental Health Survey.

Background: Anxiety disorders (ADs) and depressive disorders (DDs) are prevalent among older adults with non-communicable diseases (NCDs), yet nationally representative epidemiological data from China remain limited. This study, as a part of the 2013-2015 China Mental Health Survey (CMHS), aimed to assess the prevalence of ADs and DDs and identify associated factors among older adults with NCDs in China.

Method: A total of 5,428 patients aged 60 years and above with reported NCDs were selected from the CMHS.

Few studies have investigated which specific bacterial species and metabolites have an impact on postmenopausal osteoporosis patients, especially in urban communities.

Methods: With the aim of comprehending GM features and metabolite variation in women suffering from PMO in the Beijing Community of China, we divided the 76 eligible participants into osteoporosis (OP) and health control (HC) groups taking into account the bone mineral density (BMD), and adopted 16 S rRNA gene sequencing and metagenomic sequencing to examine the GM compositions in the respective groups.

The effect of systematic antidepressant treatments in the early stages on sleep and impulsivity in bipolar euthymic patients: A cross-sectional study.

Background And Objectives: Due to early misdiagnosis, bipolar patients who had a depressive episode as their initial onset often received systematic antidepressant treatments and continued to suffer from sleep disturbances and elevated impulsivity, even during euthymic state. The study aims to assess the effect of systematic antidepressant treatments in the early stages on sleep and impulsivity in bipolar euthymic patients, and further explore the potential mediating role of sleep in the relationship between early antidepressant uses and impulsivity.

Methods: A total of 124 bipolar euthymic patients were enrolled.

This study analyzed the agreement between subjective sleep assessments and objective sleep monitoring in adolescents with mood disorders, aiming to provide a reliable methodological foundation for related research.

Methods: We collected relevant data of the patients with adrenocortical carcinoma who had undergone surgery in Peking University Third Hospital from 2018 to 2023. The patients were divided into venous tumor thrombus group and non-tumor thrombus group.

The rare-earth telluride compound EuTe exhibits a charge density wave (CDW) and an unconventional thermal hysteresis transition. Herein, we report a comprehensive study of the CDW states in EuTe by using low-temperature scanning tunneling microscopy. Two types of charge orders are observed at 4 K, including a newly discovered spindle-shaped pattern and a typical stripe-like pattern.

Background: Health workers involved in the fight to prevent the COVID-19 outbreak were exposed to hazards. Detailed information on mental health problems in different medical occupations is crucial. To examined the prevalence of mental health issues in three medical occupations as well as the relationships between mental health problems and correlates in each occupation.

Objective: To identify the predictors for the achievement of minimal clinically important difference (MCID) in functional status among elderly patients with degenerative lumbar spinal stenosis (DLSS) undergoing lumbar decompression and fusion surgery.

Methods: Patients who underwent lumbar surgery for DLSS and had a minimum of 1-year follow-up were included. The MCID achievement threshold for the Oswestry Disability Index (ODI) was set at 12.

Background: Associations between adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and common psychiatric disorders among older Chinese individuals have not been well reported. The objectives of this study are to examine the prevalence of ACEs and the associations of ACEs with common psychiatric disorders among older adults in China.

Methods: The study used data from the China Mental Health Survey (CMHS), a nationally representative epidemiological survey, which used computer-assisted personal interviewing (CAPI), logistic regression models were used to examine community-based adult psychiatric disorders and associated risk factors.
