Nickel-rich-layered oxide cathodes are promising candidates for enhancing the energy density of lithium-ion batteries. Higher energy density leads to severe oxygen release, poor thermal stability, and safety risks, as exothermic side reactions induce complex structural and chemical transformations at elevated temperatures. Herein, in-situ heating scanning transmission X-ray microscopy (STXM)-ptychography to directly investigate the thermal degradation pathways of charged LiNiCoMnO in both solid chloride and liquid electrolytes is employed.

Pancreatic acinar cell death is a central event in the pathological process of AP and a key factor in determining the extent of local or systemic inflammatory injury and overall prognosis. Programmed cell death (PCD) is a form of active cell death regulated by multiple genes, including apoptosis, autophagy, ferroptosis, pyroptosis, and necroptosis.

However, which kind key genes involved in the regulation of BAT thermogenesis and the internal regulation mechanism of heat production in goat BAT were still unclear. In this study, we analyzed the perirenal adipose tissue transcriptome of Dazu black goats from 0, 7, 14, 21 and 28 days after birth using weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA) to identify key genes involved in the thermogenesis of BAT.

To explore the diagnostic efficacy of the Chinese version of the MoCA-B against the MMSE for post-stroke cognitive impairment (PSCI).
Methods: Eighty four patients with acute cerebral infarction were grouped into a post-stroke cognitive normal (PSCN) or a PSCI group based on their scores on the Clinical Dementia Rating scale (CDR), the gold standard for diagnosing PSCI.
Introduction: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative disorder characterized by cognitive decline; recent studies suggest that neuronal ferroptosis plays a key role in its pathogenesis. Danggui Shaoyao San (DSS), a traditional Chinese medicine formula, has shown demonstrated neuroprotective effects, but its precise mechanisms in AD treatment remain unclear. This study aims to investigate the mechanism of DSS in treating AD by inhibiting neuronal ferroptosis, explore whether DSS alleviates AD by suppressing neuronal ferroptosis via the AMPK/Sp1/ACSL4 pathway.

It has demonstrated efficacy in the long-term clinical management of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF); however, its underlying mechanisms remain unclear.
Aim Of The Study: This study investigates whether MMDD alleviates IPF by reducing type 2 alveolar epithelial cell (AEC2) senescence and enhancing mitochondrial autophagy.

Brown adipose tissue (BAT) is a critical regulator of non-shivering thermogenesis and energy expenditure, offering significant potential for addressing obesity and associated metabolic disorders. Isoliquiritigenin (ISL), a natural flavonoid, has shown promising therapeutic effects in lipid metabolism-related diseases. This study aimed to explore the effects of ISL on lipid metabolism and obesity using a high-fat-diet (HFD)-induced obesity model in mice.

Therefore, understanding their hibernation habitat selection is essential for the targeted conservation of turtle species and their habitats. The Chinese softshell turtle (), a medium-sized freshwater turtle, is widely distributed in China; however, populations are rapidly declining, and threatened by habitat destruction, overfishing, and water pollution.

Xiao-Chai-Hu-Tang (XCHT), a well-known Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) prescription, shows promise in clinical trials for treating HBV. Therefore, screening the complex components of XCHT, identifying the active compounds, and closely exploring the targets associated with hepatitis B may constitute an effective strategy for the development of new therapeutic drugs for the treatment of this disease.

Pathogenic germline mutations in the P-type copper-transporting ATPase (ATP7B) gene cause Wilson's disease (WD), a hereditary disorder characterized by disrupted copper metabolism. The Arg778Leu (R778L) mutation in exon 8 is prevalent among individuals with WD in East Asia and is associated with more severe phenotypes. In this study, we generated a WD mouse model harboring R778L mutation (R778L mice) using CRISPR/Cas9.

Electrocatalytic oxidation of C-H bonds in hydrocarbons represents an efficient and sustainable strategy for the synthesis of value-added chemicals. Herein, a highly selective and continuous-flow electrochemical oxidation process of toluene to various oxygenated products (benzyl alcohol, benzaldehyde, and benzyl acetate) is developed with the electrocatalytic membrane electrodes (ECMEs). The selectivity of target products can be manipulated via surface and interface engineering of CoO-based electrocatalysts.

Chalcone (1,3-diaryl-2-propen-1-one) is an α, β-unsaturated ketone that serves as an active constituent or precursor of numerous natural substances, exhibiting a broad spectrum of pharmacological effects. In this study, the classical Claisen-Schmidt condensation method was used to synthesize the chalcone derivative 2',4'-dimethoxychalcone (DTC) and evaluate its pharmacological activity. By upregulating the expression of the epithelial cell marker E-cadherin and downregulating the expression of the mesenchymal cell marker vimentin, DTC was found to inhibit transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1)-induced epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) process in A549 cells, maintaining the cells' epithelial-like morphology and reducing the ability of the cells to migrate.

Pulmonary fibrosis (PF) is a disease characterised by diffuse nonspecific alveolar inflammation with interstitial fibrosis, which clinically manifests as dyspnoea and a significant decline in lung function. Many studies have shown that the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) plays a pivotal role in the pathogenesis of pulmonary fibrosis. Based on our previous findings, hypericin (Hyp) can effectively inhibit the process of the EMT to attenuate lung fibrosis.

In this paper, high-throughput sequencing technology was adopted to visualize the microbial communities on the surfaces of two types of carbon steel immersed in Sea Area Ⅰ. The results showed that different microbial communities were formed on different carbon steel surfaces, in which the genus with the highest abundance on the surface of Q235 was -, while anaerobic on the surface of 921a was the most abundant, and the dominant genus varied with the depth of the rust layer. In addition, the distribution of sulfate-reducing bacteria (SRB) on the surface of Q235 submerged in Sea Area Ⅱ was compared with the sulfate-reducing bacteria's distribution in Sea Area Ⅰ, using the environmental factors correlation analysis.
