Preeclampsia (PE), a devastating pregnancy complication affecting 5% of gravidas worldwide, exhibits poorly characterized connections between mitochondrial dysfunction and immune dysregulation. This study aims to identify integrated mitochondrial-immune biomarkers for preeclampsia by multi-omics analysis of severe PE cohorts, enabling mechanistic insights and diagnostic potential. We developed a novel computational framework integrating multi-omics analysis (GSE10588 transcriptomics), machine learning (LASSO-SVM algorithm), and molecular dynamics simulation.

Our study attempted to investigate the independent predictors of overall survival (OS) and cancer-specific survival (CSS) in Asian patients with glioblastoma and establish predictive models for the OS and CSS of Asian patients with glioblastoma based on the machine learning algorithms. Data from Asian patients with glioblastoma in the SEER database were retrieved and stochastically grouped into a training set (n = 845) and a validation set (n = 362), and patients in our centre were assigned to the test set (n = 172).

Objectives: This study aims to compare and analyze the 3-year efficacy and safety differences of microwave ablation in the treatment of patients with hyperthyroidism with benign nodules/papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC).
Methods: This retrospective study included 66 patients with hyperthyroidism accompanied by nodules who received microwave ablation treatment from December 2009 to December 2024. A 3-year follow-up was conducted after the operation to monitor indicators such as the complete remission rate of hyperthyroidism and the tumor disappearance rate, and the differences in therapeutic effects between the two groups were analyzed through propensity score matching (PSM).
Objective: To evaluate the long-term efficacy and safety of Ultrasound (US)-guided percutaneous thermal ablation for recurrent or persistent secondary hyperparathyroidism (SHPT) and identify predictors of treatment failure.
Materials And Methods: From January 2014 to July 2023, 102 patients with recurrent or persistent SHPT after parathyroidectomy or ablation received thermal ablation. The median follow-up period was 30 months.
Non-contact heart rate detection is essential in health monitoring, emphasizing the need for highly sensitive photodetectors to ensure accurate measurement. Nanowire photodetectors, benefiting from surface states, exhibit excellent performance. However, the distribution and charge-trapping capability of these surface states are primarily dictated by the intrinsic material properties, limiting tunability.

Bisphenol A (BPA) is a widely used synthetic compound that could cause neurobehavioral abnormalities in mammals. Previous studies have suggested that NMDAR may be a potential target of BPA-induced neurotoxicity. However, the impact of exposure to BPA on glutamate (Glu) and D-serine (D-ser) metabolism (key regulators of NMDAR activation) has not been clarified yet.

Our study aimed to assess the predictive risk factors for UR, to develop and validate an easy-to-use predictive tool of UR in our region based on machine learning algorithms and to update the meta-analysis of risk factors for UR in combination with our results to improve its accuracy and reliability. Clinicopathological data from the patients who underwent RC between 2010 and 2020 at multiple centres were collected.

However, the genetic alterations, clinicopathological features and prognosis of these patients have not yet been fully elucidated.
Methods: Profiling of tumor mutations in ENKTL patients with adrenal involvement was conducted by whole-genome sequencing, and the predisposing genes and driver mutation gene variants were verified through Sanger sequencing.
Background: Renal anastomosing hemangioma (RAH) is a rare benign renal tumor, and its clinicopathologic characteristics and genetic mutation spectrum related to its mechanisms of pathogenesis are unclear.
Methods: We carried out whole-genome sequencing (WGS) on RAH samples to explore the genetic mutation spectrum and verified the results by Sanger sequencing. Immunohistochemical analysis was also performed to reveal the histopathological characteristics and the tumor microenvironment components.
Background: Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is the most common type of acute leukemia in adults. We previously discovered that heme oxygenase 1 (HO1) is crucial for chemoresistance in AML, but the detailed molecular mechanism of that remains unclear.
Methods: RNA sequencing was conducted to assess transcriptomic changes in three pairs of AML cells after regulating the expression of HO1.
Radical nephroureterectomy (RNU) is the gold standard therapy for patients with upper urinary tract urothelial carcinoma (UTUC). In this study, we compared the effect of two surgical techniques, single-position complete retroperitoneoscopic radical nephroureterectomy (SCRNU) and laparoscopic nephroureterectomy with open bladder cuff excision (LNOBE), on perioperative and long-term oncological outcomes in UTUC patients. We retrospectively collected information on baseline characteristics, clinicopathological characteristics, surgical approaches, perioperative data, and survival outcomes from 174 patients who underwent RNU for UTUC between January 2018 and June 2023 in our center.

Nevertheless, the impact of long-term paddy cultivation on the interplay between soil quality, microbial metabolic functions, and soil ecosystem multifunctionality (EMF) remains unclear. Here, we evaluated soil physicochemical properties, the abundance of 132 biomarker functional genes, and soil EMF across a 78-year period of saline-sodic paddy cultivation.

Introduction: Granulocytic myeloid-derived suppressor cells (G-MDSCs) show fast recovery following allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) constituting the major part of peripheral blood in the early phase. Although G-MDSCs mediate immune suppression through multiple mechanisms, they may also promote inflammation under specific conditions.
Methods: G-MDSCs were isolated from 82 patients following allo-HSCT within 90 days after allo-HSCT, and their interactions with autologous CD3 T-cells were examined.
Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a heterogeneous hematological tumor with poor immunotherapy effect. This study was to develop a monocyte/macrophage-related prognostic risk score (MMrisk) and identify new therapeutic biomarkers for AML. We utilized differentially expressed genes (DEGs) in combination with single-cell RNA sequencing to identify monocyte/macrophage-related genes (MMGs).

Since there are limited usable magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)-based models, we sought to explore the role of three-dimensional (3D) visualization for preoperative MRI in the prediction of PSM or APSM.
Methods: From December 2016 to April 2022, 149 consecutive PCa patients who underwent radical prostatectomy were retrospectively selected from the Second Affiliated Hospital of Dalian Medical University.

Hepatocarcinogenesis is initiated by repeated hepatocyte death and liver damage, and the underlying mechanisms mediating cell death and the subsequent carcinogenesis remain to be fully investigated. Immunoresponsive gene 1 (IRG1) and its enzymatic metabolite itaconate are known to suppress inflammation in myeloid cells, and its expression in liver parenchymal hepatocytes is currently determined. However, the potential roles of IRG1 in hepatocarcinogenesis are still unknown.

Current studies have revealed that the bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BM-MSCs), a type of crucial stromal cells in the TME, can promote the malignant progression of tumors. However, in the adult B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL) microenvironment, it is still uncertain what changes in BM-MSCs are induced by leukemia cells.
