The zig-zag eel (Mastacembelus armatus) is a commercially important fish species in southern China, yet its susceptibility to Plesiomonas shigelloides (P. shigelloides) infection remains poorly understood. In this study, 100 μL of YY001 (1 × 10 CFU/mL) was used to intraperitoneally infect the zig-zag eel, and its effect on the hepatopancreas of the M.

However, research on CDPKs in a distinct eukaryotic lineage, such as brown algae, is scarce. Given its independent taxonomic position, brown algae CDPKs might exhibit unique structural and functional characteristics in ecological adaptation.

However, an effective way to achieve VFA yield is not trivial. Herein, a novel strategy was proposed by applying low intensity ultrasound to enhance VFA production, focusing on the extracellular polymeric substances (EPS) and sludge rheological properties.

Traditional therapies, such as chemotherapy and immunotherapy, often exhibit limited efficacy and are associated with significant side effects due to systemic drug exposure. Microneedles (MNs), as an emerging drug delivery system, offer multiple advantages, including safety, painlessness, minimal invasiveness, and controlled drug release.

While emerging biologics and traditional medications as well as phototherapy have made certain progress in treating psoriasis, these therapies are hindered by significant drawbacks including high costs, suboptimal efficacy, and significant side effects. Photodynamic therapy (PDT) has great potential for psoriasis treatment, but its application is limited due to the weak penetration of short-wavelength light used for active photosensitizer (PS).

Objective: This meta-analysis is aimed to verify the effectiveness and safety of Photobiomodulation (PBM) on body measurements, metabolic indicators, and inflammation indicators in obese patients across randomized controlled trials with various comparators.
Methods: From the inception of databases to January 5, 2025, we conducted a comprehensive literature search across PubMed, OVID, Cochrane, Embase, Web of Science, LILACS, Chinese Scientific Journals Database (VIP), Wanfang and China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI). Two reviewers independently performed the search, extracted data, and assessed study quality based on predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria.
Intestinal ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury is a common life-threatening condition. Inflammatory dysregulation plays a crucial role in the pathological progression of intestinal I/R injury, indicating that controlling excessive inflammatory responses can be an effective strategy for mitigating I/R injury. Herein, after establishing a correlation between cell-free DNA (cfDNA) levels and postoperative inflammatory factors in samples from patients with intestinal I/R, we tested a cfDNA-scavenging approach for the treatment of intestinal I/R injury.

Saccharina japonica has been cultivated in China for almost a century. From Dalian to Fujian, the lowest and the highest seawater temperatures in the period of cultivation increased by 14℃ and 8℃, respectively. Its adaptation to elevated seawater temperature is an example of securing the natural habitats of a species.

Objective: This study used machine learning (ML) algorithms with an aim to extract critical predictors and develop an ML model to predict PND among LT recipients.
Methods: In this retrospective study, data from 958 patients who underwent LT between January 2015 and January 2020 were extracted from the Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University.

In orchard environments, negative obstacles such as ditches and potholes pose significant safety risks to robots working within them. This paper proposes a negative obstacle detection method based on LiDAR tilt mounting. With the LiDAR tilted at 40°, the blind spot is reduced from 3 m to 0.

Because of the increased rate of blood vessel reperfusion, it is important to prevent cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury, in which glutamate (Glu) excitotoxicity plays a critical role. The most important Glu transporter, GLT-1, is essential for the regulation of Glu, which is dependent on Na-K-ATPase (NKA)-induced ion concentration gradient differences.

Unlabelled: We utilized data from the NHANES to investigate the impact of physical activity on mortality in osteoporotic patients. Our study suggests that osteoporotic patients may require higher volumes of physical activity to reduce mortality risk compared to the general population. In osteoporotic patients, the dose-response relationships between physical activity volumes and both all-cause and cardiovascular mortality were linear.

Experimental acoustic levitation control tests reveal bifurcation and jump phenomena during dynamic adjustments to resonant cavity height. Employing the 10-particle chain experiments and the COMSOL simulation models, the Sine-Gordon 2D vibration model is established to study the dynamic deformation process of the particle chain.

In this study, we identified epidermal growth factor-like 6 (Egfl6) as a regulator of myeloid cell functions. Our analyses indicated that Egfl6, via binding with β3 integrins and activation of p38 and SYK signaling, acts as a chemotactic factor for myeloid cell migration and promotes their differentiation toward an immunosuppressive state.

Based on the acoustic wave radiation model of the transducer and the acoustic wave interference theory, the mathematical model between the spatial levitation point and the phase of the phased array ultrasonic array unit is established. A double-sided phased array test system was developed and the phase calculation algorithm for independently manipulating bi-particle was optimized.
