Background: Periodontitis has been associated with an increased risk of pre-eclampsia, but the underlying mechanisms and causal relationship remain unclear. Oxidative stress has been implicated in both conditions, suggesting a potential mechanistic link.
Objectives: To investigate the causal relationship between periodontitis and pre-eclampsia and elucidate shared molecular pathways, with a focus on oxidative stress-related mechanisms.
This study aimed to determine whether β-lactamase-like protein (Lactamase-β, LACTB) influences apoptosis in gastric cancer cells by modulating mitochondrial autophagy through the PTEN-induced putative kinase 1 (PINK1) or Parkin pathway. Firstly, the expression level of LACTB in gastric cancer tissues was detected by immunohistochemistry, and the survival data of patients were used to explore the relationship between LACTB expression level and patient prognosis. Secondly, LACTB overexpression (+ LACTB) and knockdown (sh-LACTB) AGS gastric cancer cell lines were constructed; flow cytometry and other experiments were used to detect the effect of LACTB on AGS cell apoptosis; Western Blot was used to detect the expression of PINK1/Parkin mitochondrial autophagy pathway-related proteins and lysosome-related proteins in + LACTB and sh-LACTB gastric cancer cells; kits and electron microscopy were used to detect changes in the number of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and autophagosomes.

Silver nanosheets (Ag-Cys) exhibiting NIR electrochemiluminescence were synthesized via a simple chemical reaction using AgNO and l-cysteine (L-Cys) as precursors. The incorporation of L-Cys not only reduces photochemical damage but also preserved the antigen-binding activity, facilitating the construction of a high-performance immunosensor.

This research represents the first application of FeCdS@FeInS as an innovative electrochemiluminescence (ECL) emitter. To further enhance the ECL signal, ZIF-8-derived Ag-doped ZnO nanocomposites were engineered as co-reaction accelerators, leveraging their exceptional catalytic activity to enhance the FeCdS@FeInS/KSO system through efficient generation of SO˙ radicals.

Existing prognostic models often lack accuracy due to disease heterogeneity and insufficient integration of demographic and treatment variables. This study aimed to identify independent prognostic factors and develop a nomogram for predicting OS in Follicular lymphoma-grade 3 patients using the SEER database.

MYB transcription factors (TFs) are critical regulators in plant growth and stress tolerance, but MYB-related genes, an atypical subset of the MYB family, remain less explored. In this study, we identified 119 MYB-related genes in the genome of wild sugarcane (S.

Distinguishing unilateral from bilateral PA is critical when deciding who should be offered surgery (unilateral adrenalectomy). Recent studies have shown that PET/CT with [C]metomidate can accurately identify unilateral PA, with localization of the causative aldosterone-producing adenoma (APA).

In this cross-sectional study, we evaluated the proteomic differences between moderate and severe psoriasis using data-independent acquisition mass spectrometry (DIA-MS). 173 differentially expressed proteins (DEPs) were significantly differentially expressed between the two groups.

Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on 4 male patients who underwent surgery involving C1 PASs and C2 translaminar screws between January 2022 and February 2024. Surgical technique involved the insertion of standard C1 lateral mass screws and C2 pedicle screws, followed by the placement of C1 PASs and C2 translaminar screws for additional fixation.

The traditional posterior median approach laminectomy is widely used for lumbar decompression. However, the bilateral dissection of paraspinal muscles during this procedure often leads to postoperative muscle atrophy, chronic low back pain, and other complications. The posterior midline spinous process-splitting approach (SPSA) offers a significant advantage over the traditional approach by minimizing damage to the paraspinal muscles.

Background: Although the optimization of brain oxygenation is thought to improve the prognosis, the effect of brain tissue oxygen pressure (PbtO2) for patients with severe traumatic brain injury (STBI) remains controversial. Therefore, the present study aimed to determine whether adding PbtO2 to intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring improves clinical outcomes for patients with STBI.
Methods: PubMed, Embase, Scopus and Cochrane Library were searched for eligible trials from their respective inception through April 10th, 2024.

Instrument pose estimation is a key demand in computer-aided surgery, and its main challenges lie in two aspects: Firstly, the difficulty of obtaining stable corresponding image feature points due to the instruments' high refraction and complicated background, and secondly, the lack of labeled pose data. This study aims to tackle the pose estimation problem of surgical instruments in the current endoscope system using a single endoscopic image. More specifically, a weakly supervised method based on the instrument's image segmentation contour is proposed, with the effective assistance of synthesized endoscopic images.

A sandwich quench electrochemiluminescence (ECL) immunosensor for soluble cytokeratin 19 fragment (Cyfra21-1) detection was preliminarily developed based on a novel resonant energy transfer donor-acceptor pair. Fe-CN-3, a carbon nitride that combines the advantages of metal ion doping as well as morphology modulation, is used in ECL luminophores to provide more excellent ECL performance, which makes a significant contribution to the application and development of carbon nitride in the field of ECL biosensors.
