Background: Surgical intervention could improve the prognosis of infants with necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC), but it's also an independent risk factor for severe complications and death. This study aimed to establish a nomogram to predict the prognosis of infants with surgical NEC.
Methods: A total of 189 infants with surgical NEC were enrolled from January 2013 to May 2024.
Background: Electronic patient-reported outcome (ePRO) systems have significant potential for providing individualized and continuous nutritional management for patients with cancer. However, adherence to ePRO-guided nutritional interventions varies significantly, and the key factors associated with adherence remain poorly understood. This study aimed to assess adherence to nutritional targets via ePRO platforms and identify predictors influencing adherence to optimize management strategies.

Therefore, this study aimed to assess the incidence and characteristics of MAD in apparently normal hearts (ANH) confirmed by comprehensive cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR), and to explore its impact on myocardial contraction and potential association with VA.
Methods: This retrospective cohort study was conducted on 444 patients who underwent CMR at a tertiary care center between January 2017 and March 2023.

Objective: To investigate the characteristics of gut microbiota changes in patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) undergoing induction chemotherapy and to explore the relationship between infectious complications and gut microbiota.
Methods: Fecal samples were collected from 37 newly diagnosed AML patients at four time points: before induction chemotherapy, during chemotherapy, during the neutropenic phase, and during the recovery phase. Metagenomic sequencing was used to analyze the dynamic changes in gut microbiota.
The clinical efficacy of VEGFR inhibitors and tubulin inhibitors as monotherapies is restricted by adverse reactions and resistance. We reported a classic pharmacophore hybridization strategy to develop dual VEGFR2/tubulin inhibitors that simultaneously inhibited tumor angiogenesis and tubulin assembly. A series of novel flavonoid derivatives containing N, N'-diethylurea group and trimethoxyphenyl were designed and synthesized.

Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs)-derived exosomes (MSCs-exosomes) possess tissue repair and regenerative properties, but their exact mechanisms in RIPF remain unclear. This study explores whether MSCs-exosomes can alleviate RIPF by modulating inflammation, extracellular matrix (ECM) accumulation, and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) the protein kinase B (Akt)/nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB) pathway.

Coronary atherosclerosis narrows or occludes blood vessels, resulting in myocardial ischemia and hypoxia, which ultimately leads to coronary heart disease (CHD). The pathogenesis of CHD remains insufficiently elucidated. A widely accepted hypothesis is that various stimuli induce arterial intima injury, and atherosclerosis (AS)formation reflects the inflammatory-fibroproliferative response of the intima to such injury.

However, current techniques for measuring CR in meat face challenges in achieving rapid and low-cost detection. In this study, nanozyme based on iron-doped carbon dots (Fe-LCDs) was synthesized by employing sodium lignosulfonate and iron as the precursors.

Supramolecular fluorescent sensors have garnered extensive research attention and found broad applications in biochemical sensing attributed to their high selectivity, rapid response, stimulus responsiveness, and ease of modification, which stem from their inherent molecular recognition and self-assembly capabilities. Herein, supramolecular fluorescent sensors based on anthracene-functionalized naphthotubes have been successfully developed and utilized for the efficient detection of uranyl ions. Owing to the highly pre-organized carboxyl groups on the naphthotubes, uranyl ions are effectively captured, forming a non-fluorescent or weakly fluorescent complex to quench the fluorescence of anthracene.

Forty-eight male SD rats were randomly divided into sham and model groups. The KOA model was established by injecting a mixture of papain and L-cysteine into the joint cavity on days 1, 3, and 5.

Given the excellent therapeutic effects and special benefits of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) in radiation damaged hematopoietic stem/progenitor cells (HSPCs) recovery and hematopoietic niche reconstruction, enhancing the hematopoietic niche with the radiotolerance MSCs can be an alternative solution to prevent and attenuate hematopoietic radiation damage, which needs to be studied.
Methods: Here, we constructed MSCs modified with Damage Suppressor Protein (DSUP), a radiotolerance gene identified from tardigrade Ramazzotius varieornatus, and verify its radiation protection effect in HSPCs-MSCs co-culture model in vitro and radiation damaged mice model in vivo.

Heart failure is a common heart disease and cause of death globally which is caused by structural and functional abnormalities. circRNA_0030042 is a newly discovered circRNA that derived from its host gene forkhead box O1 (FOXO1). However, the role of circRNA_0030042 in heart failure is not revealed.

Therefore, enhancing the therapeutic effects of radiotherapy for ESCA and identifying relevant therapeutic targets are crucial for improving both the survival rate and quality of life of patients.
Aim: To define the role of the transcription factor Snail family transcriptional repressor 1 (SNAI1) in ESCA, particularly its regulation of radiosensitivity.
Background: Bladder cancer is one of the most common cancers worldwide, and urothelial carcinoma is the most common form of bladder cancer. Gastric metastasis of urothelial carcinoma of the bladder is a rare condition. Cystoscopy plays an important role in the diagnosis of bladder cancer; however, it is an invasive procedure that may affect the patient's prognosis and does not allow for the observation of cancer infiltration and metastasis.

The tumor microenvironment (TME) plays a critical role in the development and treatment of liver cancer, which ranks sixth in incidence and third in mortality worldwide, according to the "Global Cancer Statistics 2022". Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), the most common form of liver cancer, is heavily influenced by the TME, which affects tumor growth, invasion, metastasis, and the response to various treatments. Despite advancements in surgery, liver transplantation, targeted therapies, and immunotherapy, the complexity of the TME often limits treatment efficacy, especially in advanced-stage HCC cases.

However, the specific substrates and intrinsic regulatory mechanisms of WTAP are not well understood. Here, we provide evidence that PHD finger protein 19 (PHF19) overexpression is regulated by WTAP-mediated mA modification and promotes cell cycle progression by altering chromatin accessibility.

The power conversion efficiency (PCE) of ternary all-small-molecule organic solar cells (T-ASM-OSCs) differs significantly from that of the polymer systems (2 %), and the role of third component remains unclear. The electron donor of coumarin derivatives with simple structure and strong and broad light absorption has high PCE for T-ASM-OSCs composed of non-fullerene acceptors (Y6 and DBTBT-IC). Here, we calculated the electronic structure and interfacial properties of the binary C1-CN:Y6 and ternary C1-CN:Y6:DBTBT-IC systems using molecular dynamic (MD) simulations and density functional theory (DFT) to explore the role of the third component (DBTBT-IC).

The power conversion efficiency (PCE) of organic solar cells (OSCs) devices has surpassed 19% owing to the blooming of fused-ring nonfullerene acceptors (NFAs), especially for acceptor-donor-acceptor (A-D-A) type NFAs. However, the structural effect of the angular/linear fusion mode and number of fused rings for A-D-A type NFAs on the photovoltaic performance in OSCs devices remains unclear. Herein, the A-D-A type NFAs (, , and ) have been selected to obtain the intrinsic role of structural design strategies including the angular/linear fusion mode and the number of fused rings.
