Degradation of microplastics represents a significant global environmental challenge, necessitating the development of bio-inspired catalysts with superior activity and stability, capable of mimicking natural plastic-degrading enzymes. Although nanozymes possess advantages such as low cost, ready availability, and multienzymatic activities, issues of self-consumption often hinder their practical application. Here, motivated by the acceleration of Li migration for improving the electrochemical reactivity and cycling stability of lithium iron phosphate (LFP), we engineered LFP by introducing Mn to expand the lattice structure, resulting in Mn-doped LFP (LFMP) that modulates ion migration in nanozymes.

Here, we describe that T17 cytokines strongly inhibit expression of critical chemokines in epithelial tissues, which leads to blocking infiltration of proinflammatory immune cells into the colon, rendering resistance to DSS-induced colitis and colon cancer. We show that key chemokine expression dictates the sensitivity of WT mice to DSS treatment.

Biofilm systems demonstrate significant potential for the efficient degradation of persistent organic pollutants and serve as a crucial reservoir for antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) due to the widespread misuse of antibiotics. However, the role of biofilm systems under non-antibiotic bisphenol stress in contaminant removal and ARGs dissemination remains uncertain. This research investigates the removal performance of bisphenol S (BPS) as a representative bisphenol and its impact on ARG dynamics in biofilm systems.

Physically confined assembly of binary colloidal mixtures in emulsion droplets provides a versatile platform for engineering supraparticles with tunable morphologies and functionalities. While single-component and hard-sphere colloidal assemblies have been extensively studied, the co-assembly of binary soft colloids presents unresolved challenges in architecture control and functional integration. In this work, we investigate the co-assembly performance of emulsion droplet confined binary soft colloids of spherical polystyrene nanoparticles (PS) and wire-like carbon nanotubes (CNTs).

However, the capacity decay problem caused by the Jahn-Teller effect of high-spin Mn restricts its use in sodium-ion batteries. In this study, an elemental modulation strategy is proposed to regulate the electronic state of the ligand field by introducing the nickel element, which can keep the Mn in a low-spin configuration during cycling to inhibit the Jahn-Teller aberration of MnHCF.

The development of efficient photocatalysts with high activity and selectivity for coreduction of N and CO under ambient conditions represents a highly promising but still challenging strategy for sustainable urea synthesis. In this study, using density functional theory (DFT) calculations, we present a comprehensive descriptor strategy integrating geometric, electronic, and energetic factors to screen Cu-metal dual-atom photocatalysts (CuM/CeO, where M = 27 transition metals) for urea synthesis. According to the screening of the catalyst stability, coadsorption capability of N and CO, energy barriers of the rate-determining step (RDS), and urea desorption energies, CuMn/CeO emerged as the most promising candidate photocatalyst.

Liquid nitromethane (NM) may undergo detonation under accidental stimuli, making kinetic modeling crucial for assessing the safety risks associated with its detonation. This study employs first-principles molecular dynamics to investigate chemical behavior of nitromethane under high temperature (>2000 K) and pressure (>1 GPa) conditions, revealing five previously unidentified intermediates (CHNOH, CHNOH, CHNOH, CHONO, NOCHNO) and establishing a nitromethane chemical kinetic model which include 543 elementary reactions and 79 species, which is successfully applied in the prediction of nitromethane detonation characteristics. The calculated detonation pressure (13.

Nevertheless, unraveling the intricate structure-activity relationships within correlated oxides remains challenging, impeding the rational design of efficient catalysts. Here, using LaCoO epitaxial thin films as a model system, we illustrate a direct correlation between the spin state and OER activity.

A total of 164 patients with GC who underwent surgical treatment at our hospital between September 2015 and September 2023 were retrospectively included and were randomly divided into a training set (n=114) and a testing set (n=50). Using Pyradiomics, radiomics features were extracted from multi-phase CECT images and were combined with significant clinical features through various machine learning algorithms [support vector machine (SVM), random forest (RandomForest), K-nearest neighbors (KNN), LightGBM and XGBoost] to build a fusion model.

Bioactive peptides are protein molecules known for their specific biological functions, offering promising applications across various fields including medicine, food, and cosmetics. Traditional approaches to the investigation of bioactive peptides typically encompass extraction, separation, purification, identification, and experimental evaluation. However, these methodologies are frequently subject to human-related variables, which consequently lead to reduced efficiency and compromised accuracy.

P-SCOF retains randomly distributed F-ions, while BM-SCOF forms an F-ordered structure characterized by alternative stacking of square-planar CoOF and octahedral CoOF.
