Food-specific immunoglobulin E (IgE) triggers life-threatening anaphylaxis; however, for unclear reasons, some people with food-specific IgE are asymptomatic upon allergen consumption. We studied strains of mice with different sensitivities to anaphylaxis when orally challenged with allergen to identify possible causes. In resistant C57BL/6 mice, intestinal goblet cells transported less food allergen than did anaphylaxis-susceptible strains, even before allergic sensitization.

A flexible non-enzymatic glucose sensor with high sensitivity (NiCu-LDH/CuO/NCC) was prepared by growing NiCu-layered double hydroxide (NiCu-LDH)-modified CuO nanorods on N-doped carbon cloth (NCC) using hydrothermal method and electrodeposition. The NCC provided abundant attachment sites and good electrical conductivity for CuO nanorods, and the hierarchical nanostructures (NiCu-LDH/CuO) had large specific surface area and highly catalytic active sites, which facilitated the electrooxidation of glucose. The effect of the ratio of Ni to Cu on the electrocatalytic performance of NiCu-LDH/CuO/NCC was evaluated.

In this study, during the efficient preparation of nanofibers using a spherical section free surface electrospinning (SSFSE) device with different sphere radii, the formation mechanism and motion characteristics of multiple jets were thoroughly investigated through the numerical simulation method. The mechanical model of multiple jets was established, and the key role of electric field intensity in the formation and motion of jets was defined; in addition, the relationship between the jet initial velocity and the electric field intensity distribution on the solution surface was established. On this basis, a magnetohydrodynamic model was introduced, and a turbulence model as well as a volume of fluid model were combined to numerically simulate the jet motion during the SSFSE process.
