Image restoration (IR) seeks to recover high-quality images from degraded observations caused by a wide range of factors, including noise, blur, compression, and adverse weather. While traditional IR methods have made notable progress by targeting individual degradation types, their specialization often comes at the cost of generalization, leaving them ill-equipped to handle the multifaceted distortions encountered in real-world applications. In response to this challenge, the all-in-one image restoration (AiOIR) paradigm has recently emerged, offering a unified framework that adeptly addresses multiple degradation types.

The single-image deraining aims to restore clean scenes from rainy inputs by eliminating precipitation artifacts. Current methods often neglect the directional nature of rain streaks-a critical oversight that causes heterogeneous degradation, particularly in texture regions aligned with rain orientations. To address this issue and advance image deraining, we propose a novel direction-aware attention wavelet network (DAWN) for rain streaks removal.

Objective: Platinum-resistant ovarian cancer (PROC) remains a therapeutic challenge. While immune checkpoint inhibitor plus lenvatinib demonstrates potential efficacy in ovarian cancer, the standard 20 mg lenvatinib dosage causes significant adverse events leading to treatment disruption. We present preliminary results of a multicenter, single-arm phase II trial evaluating low-dose lenvatinib plus toripalimab for recurrent PROC.

So far, high-power visible laser generation has traditionally relied on nonlinear frequency conversion of near-infrared lasers, precluding efficient, compact, and affordable laser systems. An ideal solution is a rare-earth-doped fiber laser for directly generating visible light, but the output power is limited to the watt level, and the all-fiber structure is rarely reported. Here, we address this challenge by demonstrating high-power all-fiber visible lasers, directly generating either 10 W-level output power at 635 nm (red)/717 nm (deep-red) and 5 W-level output power at 521 nm (green), respectively.

Single-frequency fiber laser is of principal role either in frontier interdisciplinary science or advanced practical applications. Here, we present a 1-kHz-level linewidth 915 nm all-polarization-maintaining Nd-doped single-frequency all-fiber laser featuring a ring cavity configuration. Particularly, a piece of commercial unpumped Nd-doped single-cladding silica fiber is employed to achieve a single longitudinal mode operation by forming a dynamic grating.

Lactylation, a novel post-translational modification, has been implicated in various pathophysiological processes; however, its role in sepsis-associated acute kidney injury (SA-AKI) remains unclear. This study aimed to investigate the expression patterns and potential functional roles of lactylation-related genes (LRGs) in SA-AKI using transcriptomic data from the GSE232404 dataset. A total of 118 differentially expressed LRGs were identified, enriched in pathways related to RNA splicing, histone deacetylation, and carbon metabolism pathways.

As the predominant approach for pathological whole slide image (WSI) classification, multiple instance learning (MIL) methods struggle with limited labeled WSIs. Although MIL has achieved notable progress with pseudo-bag-oriented augmentation methods, their effectiveness is often constrained by noisy pseudo-labels and low-quality pseudo-bags. To overcome these problems, we revisit the use of pseudo-bags for WSI data augmentation and propose a new pseudo-bag generation paradigm, dubbed DPBAug.

All-in-one image restoration, which seeks to handle multiple types of degradation within a unified model, has become a prominent research topic in computer vision. While existing deep learning models have achieved remarkable success in specific restoration tasks, extending these models to heterogenous degradations presents significant challenges. Current all-in-one methods predominantly concentrate on extracting degradation priors, often employing learned and fixed task prompts to guide the restoration process.

Efficient delocalization of photo-generated excitons is a key to improving the charge-separation efficiencies in state-of-the-art organic photovoltaic (OPV) absorber. While the delocalization in non-fullerene acceptors has been widely studied, we expand the scope by studying the properties of the conjugated polymer donor D18 on both the material and device levels. Combining optical spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, and simulation, we show that D18 exhibits stronger π-π interactions and interchain packing compared to classic donor polymers, as well as higher external photoluminescence quantum efficiency (~26%).

How to aggregate spatial-temporal information plays an essential role in video super-resolution (VSR) tasks. Despite the remarkable success, existing methods adopt static convolution to encode spatial-temporal information, which lacks flexibility in aggregating information in large-scale remote sensing scenes, as they often contain heterogeneous features (e.g.

Previous incomplete multi-modal brain tumor segmentation technologies, while effective in integrating diverse modalities, commonly deliver under-expected performance gains. The reason lies in that the new modality may cause confused predictions due to uncertain and inconsistent patterns and quality in some positions, where the direct fusion consequently raises the negative gain for the final decision. In this paper, considering the potentially negative impacts within a modality, we propose multi-modal Positive-Negative impact region Double Calibration pipeline, called PNDC, to mitigate misinformation transfer of modality fusion.

Background: The anterolateral thigh (ALT) flap is the primary choice for healthy and vascularized soft-tissue coverage for appendicular and axial soft tissue reconstruction, especially in the head and neck regions. Nonetheless, there is substantial anatomic variation in ALT perforators that affect flap integrity, survival rates, and donor-site morbidity. Regardless of the ALT flap type, accurate location of perforators can greatly improve surgical success rates and reduce the risk of secondary surgeries.

Purpose: Therapeutic options for patients with platinum-resistant ovarian cancer (PROC) remain a major unmet need. PROC patients with multiple recurrences are unable to continue highly toxic treatment after prior multiple lines of systemic therapy. Chemotherapy-free option lenvatinib plus anti-programmed cell death protein-1 (PD-1) combination therapy has shown promising results in several malignancies including ovarian cancer, but the toxicity of a high starting dose of lenvatinib is also notable and needs to be improved.

Highly efficient perovskite solar cells (PSCs) in the n-i-p structure have demonstrated limited operational lifetimes, primarily due to the layer-to-layer ion diffusion in the perovskite/doped hole-transport layer (HTL) heterojunction, leading to conductivity drop in HTL and component loss in perovskite. Herein, we introduce an ultrathin (~7 nm) p-type polymeric interlayer (D18) with excellent ion-blocking ability between perovskite and HTL to address these issues. The ultrathin D18 interlayer effectively inhibits the layer-to-layer diffusion of lithium, methylammonium, formamidium, and iodide ions.

Herein, we demonstrate a practical dual ligand-enabled iron photocatalysis paradigm-converting all kinds of halogen-containing carboxylates (C X COO, X: F, Cl, Br) into C X radicals for the valuable chloro/fluoro-polyhaloalkylation of non-activated alkenes with easily available trichloroacetonitrile/Selectfluor as the electrophilic halogenation reagent. The modular assembly of the effective iron and C X COO-based light-harvesting species using the two ligands-OMe/CF-substituted bipyridine and acetonitrile/trichloroacetonitrile is evidenced by detailed mechanistic studies. The late-stage modification, low loading amount of iron (TON: 257) and feasible gram-scale synthesis show the utility of this protocol.
