Carbon monoxide (CO) has demonstrated significant potential in tumor therapy. However, the uncontrolled release of CO and single-modality therapy often fail to achieve the desired therapeutic outcomes. To address the above deficiencies, mesoporous silica nanoparticles containing tetrasulfide bonds (TMSNs) were constructed as intelligent nanocarriers to co-deliver a mitochondria-targeting photosensitizer (Au-TPP) and a photodynamically activated CO-releasing molecule (FeCO), enabling the synergistic combination of photodynamic therapy (PDT) and CO therapy.

Studies show excessive cortisol is linked to osteoporosis (OP). However, the impact of mild cortisol excess (MCE) on bone mineral density (BMD) remains unclear. Sarcopenia may play a key role in this, particularly in aging or stress contexts.

Organic material return to fields is a primary agricultural management practice for enhancing soil fertility. We examined the variations of soil nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium nutrient contents and pH of the topsoil layer (0-15 cm) and subsoil (15-35 cm) layers of albic soil under different treatments, including deep tillage at 35 cm without organic materials (T), straw deep mixing at 35 cm (T+S), organic fertilizer deep mixing at 35 cm (T+M), combined straw and organic fertilizer deep mixing at 35 cm (T+M+S), and conventional tillage at 15 cm without organic materials as the control (CK).

The purpose of this study was to explore the prevalence and associated factors of depressive symptoms in Chinese Han patients with SSD.
Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 899 outpatients diagnosed with SSD were included.
Background: Interstitial lung disease (ILD) is an important component of the global disease burden and health challenges. This study aims to describe and analyze the global and regional disease burden of ILD, and predict future epidemiological trends.
Methods: The data from the 2021 Global Burden of Disease, Injury and Risk Factors (GBD) were used to conduct a secondary analysis on the incidence rate, mortality and disability adjusted life year (DALY) of ILD in 21 regions and 204 countries and regions from 1990 to 2021, stratified by time, space, gender, age and social demographic index (SDI).

WHO declared mpox a Public Health Emergency of International Concern on 23 July 2022. China experienced the first imported case in September 2022, the first local case in May 2023, indigenous clustered outbreaks in June to August 2023 and finally has achieved routine management since September 2023. We designed a conceptual framework through literature review and theoretical underpinnings according to the risk management theory and Chinese mpox control practice, with the strategy and measures evolution of the mpox control in China over time from the stages of risk preparedness, emergency response and management, to routine report and management.

This review evaluated the effects of mind-body exercises on these outcomes and exercise tolerance in COPD patients aged ≥ 60 years.
Methods: Following PRISMA guidelines, we systematically searched PubMed, Embase, PsycINFO, Cochrane Library, and Web of Science (inception-January 2025) for randomized controlled trials (RCTs) comparing mind-body exercise versus usual care.
Human society is organized around individual actors. When making behavioral choices, individuals engage in rational deductions based on their environment and select the 'most appropriate' actions. This paper introduces a social relations network information system that enables behavior nodes and their environments to observe behaviors and assign scores accordingly.

Here, we present a self-powered biosensor integrating a dual DNAzyme-driven catalytic system with a MoS/graphdiyne (GDY) nanohybrid-modified biofuel cell (EBFC) for simultaneous detection of and . The key innovation lies in the windmill-shaped dual DNAzyme structure that enables Mn/Mg-dependent target recycling, synergistically coupled with the hybridization chain reaction (HCR) and triplex catalytic hairpin assembly (TCHA) for exponential signal amplification.

Transcriptome-wide association study (TWAS) is an emerging model leveraging gene expressions to direct genotype-phenotype association mapping. A key component in TWAS is the prediction of gene expressions; and many statistical approaches have been developed along this line. However, a problem is that many genes have low expression heritability, limiting the performance of any predictive model.

This study aims to identify independent risk factors affecting the mortality risk of COPD patients and construct and validate a nomogram model to provide treatment guidance for COPD patients.
Methods: Data from COPD patients in the intensive care unit (ICU) were obtained from the Medical Information Mart for Intensive Care-IV (MIMIC-IV) and the eICU Collaborative Research Database (eICU-CRD).

The current tumor‒node‒metastasis (TNM) staging system cannot provide sufficient information for prognosis and chemotherapy benefits in patients with colorectal cancer (CRC). The tumor microenvironment plays a critical role in disease progression and therapeutic response. Here, we developed and validated a multimodal tumor microenvironment signature of CRC (MTMS) using 1314 CRC patients to enhance prognosis and chemotherapy benefit predictions.

Here, we developed glutamate-linked upconversion nanoparticles (Glu-UCNP) to facilitate optogenetic control of axonal sprouting in SCI mice. After being specifically uptaken by the postsynaptic interneurons innervated by corticospinal tract (CST) axons, Glu-UCNP not only serves as internal light transducers that convert near-infrared light to visible light but also acts as nanobeacons that guide axonal sprouting toward postsynaptic neurons of glutamatergic synapses.

An appealing attribute of these structures is the inheritance of the valley degree of freedom from the constituent monolayers. Recent studies show evidence that the valley polarization of the moiré excitons is highly tunable.

Here, we ask the question to what extent topography and the shape of the Earth-its ellipsoidal shape-affect the quantification of animal movement. To answer this question, we draw from the fields of ecology and geodesy: geodesy provides the mathematics to solve the problem on the curved surface of the Earth exactly, as opposed to using a map projection, because all map projections impart a scale distortion that systematically enlarges or shrinks the distances between points in space.

The is an outstanding local breed in China that has been placed under conservation due to the impact of specialized breeding and the widespread adoption of commercial varieties. As such, this study analyzed reproductive traits across three consecutive generations and utilized whole-genome resequencing data from 60 to assess conservation efficacy through genetic diversity, run of homozygosity (ROH) distribution, kinship, and population structure so as to better conserve the breed. The results show that, across generations, the body weight at first egg increased, the age at first egg was delayed, and the egg weight at first laying increased.

Due to the high swelling and contraction properties of the hydrogel in different states and the "sieving" nature of its network cavities, small molecular target analytes can more easily enter the space-confined hydrogel and rapidly bind with the amide bonds of the protein structure. During the contraction process of the hydrogel, the target analytes are enriched, and the Ag nanoparticles (AgNPs) come closer together to form Raman "hot spots", generating stronger SERS signals.
