The quality control and filtration of cancer somatic mutations (CAMs), including the elimination of false positives due to technical bias and the selection of key mutation candidates, are crucial steps for downstream analysis in cancer genomics. However, due to diverse needs and the lack of standardized filtering criteria, the filtering strategies applied vary from study to study, often resulting in reduced efficiency, accuracy, and reproducibility. Here, we present CaMutQC, a heuristic quality control and soft-filtering R/Bioconductor package designed specifically for CAMs.

Despite preventive measures, the incidence and mortality of dengue remain significant. While the acute phase of infection often presents with mild, self-limiting symptoms and may mimic other undifferentiated febrile illnesses, the risk of mortality is particularly high during the acute phase of secondary infections, which are associated with more severe clinical manifestations.

How and how often nodulation symbiosis originated has implications for engineering symbiotic nitrogen fixation in non-legume crops. The prevailing hypothesis of a single origin with massive parallel losses has been challenged in a phylogenomic study favoring 16 origins and 10 losses.

Tomatoes are an important vegetable/fruit consumed worldwide. The lack of effective storage methods causes high postharvest losses, which constrain tomato production. In this study, the potential of luteolin, an important flavonoid, as a preservative to increase the quality of tomato and resistance during postharvest storage was assessed, and its extraction process was optimized.

This study aimed to evaluate the antibiotic use patterns and influencing factors of compliance in Shanxi Province Hospitals between 2015 and 2021 and provide data support for the management of antibiotics.
Design: This was a retrospective observational study of trends in antibiotic use and data reporting trends in the context of antimicrobial stewardship (AMS).
Development of bio-based active packaging systems for lipid stabilization presents critical importance in preserving lipid integrity and ensuring food safety. Zein/citric acid (Z/CA) composite films containing grape seed ethanol extract (GSEE) (0-8% ) were prepared by the solvent casting method. The structural, functional, and environmental properties of the films, including physical and chemical properties, mechanical properties, antioxidant capacity, antibacterial activity, oxidation inhibition effect, and biodegradability, were comprehensively characterized and evaluated.

Although mA modification has been reported to regulate type I interferon (IFN) responses by targeting the mRNA of IFN-β and the interferon-stimulated genes (ISGs), the detailed mechanism of how mA methyltransferase complex (MTC) rapidly responds to conduct the modification on nascent mRNA during IFN-β stimulation remains largely unclear. Here, we demonstrate that WTAP, the adaptor protein of mA MTC, undergoes dephosphorylation-regulated phase transition from aggregates to liquid-like condensates under IFN-β stimulation, thereby mediating mA modification of a subset of ISGs to restrict their expression.

Background: Allelic gene-specific regulatory events are crucial mechanisms in organisms, pivotal to many fundamental biological processes such as embryonic development and chromosome inactivation. Allelic gene imbalance manifests at both RNA expression and epigenetic levels. Recent research has unveiled allelic-specific regulation of RNA N6-methyladenosine (m6A), emphasizing the need for its precise identification.

The aim of this study was to compare outcomes between microsurgery and embolization using a grading system for SCAVMs that effectively stratifies angioarchitectural complexities.
Methods: A total of 714 patients were included, with 308 undergoing microsurgery.
In this study, we evaluated the effect of onion peel extract (OPE), which is rich in phenolics and flavonoids, on the performance of high-gluten wheat flour and bread quality to meet consumer demand for functional bakery products. The addition levels of OPE were set at 0%, 0.25%, 0.

In this study, bioactive small peptides were derived from CM through fermentation with an autonomously screened Bacillus licheniformis DY145 strain. Strain mutagenesis and fermentation condition optimization further enhanced peptide activity.

Herein, we first designed a low correlated color temperature (CCT) and high color rendering index (CRI) spectrum with minimal blue light accession, which is beneficial to reduce the inhibitory effect of melatonin secretion. Besides, the spectrum had suitable near-infrared light with a wavelength of 670-810 nm, which could promote cellular metabolism, migration, and value-added, achieving more comfortable and healthy lighting.

How to selectively target myeloid c-Rel for the treatment of cancer is not well established.

Most current methods analyze this complex task solely based on the frequency of student activities, overlooking the rich spatial and temporal features present in these activities, as well as the diverse textual content provided by various learning artifacts. To address these challenges, we choose a software engineering course as the study subject, where students are required to team up and complete a software project together.

This paper focused on the ultrasound-assisted preparation of a novel wax-based composite gelator loaded with natural antioxidant to prepare oleogels with good storage oxidation stability. The preparation of the wax-based composite gelator was to first form the anthocyanin (ACNs) and soyabean lecithin (SL) complex, and then homogenized with beeswax (BW).

Cerebral cavernous malformations (CCMs) are hemorrhagic vascular disorders with varied clinical and radiological presentations, occurring sporadically due to MAP3K3 or PIK3CA mutations or through inherited germline mutations of CCM genes. This study aimed to clarify the clinical, genetic, and pathological features of CCMs using a multicenter cohort across three Chinese centers. We analyzed 290 surgical specimens from symptomatic CCM patients, utilizing whole-exome sequencing, droplet digital PCR, and targeted panel sequencing, alongside immunohistology to examine genotypic and phenotypic differences.

Although significant progress of clinical strategy has been made in gene editing and cell engineering in immunotherapy, it is now apparent that design and modification in terms of complex signaling pathways and motifs on medical synthetic biology are still full of challenges. Innate immunity, the first line of host defense against pathogens, is critical for anti-pathogens immune response as well as regulating durable and protective T cell-mediated anti-tumor responses. Here, we introduce DSCI (Database of Synthetic Biology Components for Innate Immunity, https://dsci.

However, their application is restricted because of the complexity of creating bifunctional degraders and the reliance on specific lysosome-shuttling receptors or E3 ubiquitin ligases. To address these limitations, we developed an autophagy-based plasma membrane protein degradation platform, which we term AUTABs (autophagy-inducing antibodies).
