The hydrogen-based hollow fiber membrane biofilm reactor (H2-based MBfR) has shown to be a promising technology for nitrate (NO -N) reduction. Hollow fiber membranes (HFM) operating in a closed mode in an H-based MBfR often suffer from reverse gas diffusion, taking up space for the effective gas substrate and resulting in a reduction in the HFM diffusion efficiency, which in turn affects denitrification performance. In this work, we developed a laboratory-scale H-based MBfR, which operated in a closed mode to investigate the dynamics of denitrification performance and biofilm microbial community analysis at different H supply pressures.

Currently there is still no effective vaccines and drugs available for African swine fever virus (ASFV), a life-threatening virus to domestic pigs and wild boars. Therefore, accurate diagnosis is important for the prevention and control of the virus. In this study, we developed a triplex real-time PCR method to detect and differentiate ASFV gene-deleted and wild type strains based on three viral genes B646L, MGF_360-14L gene, and CD2v.

However, research on the effective removal of Cr(VI) and 4-CP composite-polluted wastewater (C&P) and efficient synchronous electricity generation with reclaimed resources is limited. In this study, a downflow Leersia hexandra constructed wetland-microbial fuel cell (DLCW-MFC) was builded to treat C&P, as well as wastewater singularly polluted by Cr(VI) (SC) and 4-CP (SP), respectively, to reveal the mechanism by which DLCW-MFC treats C&P and synchronously generates electricity.

However, there is still a lack of ideal, natural antibacterial dressings that show an efficient antibacterial property with no toxicity. Polyimide (PI) used as an implantable and flexible material has been recently reported as a mixture of particles showing more desirable antibacterial properties.

Water hypoxia (DO < 2 mg/L) is a growing global environmental concern that has the potential to significantly influence not only the aquatic ecosystem but also the benthic sedimentary ecosystem. The Changjiang River Estuary hypoxia, classified as one of the world's largest seasonal hypoxic water basins, has been reported to be expanding rapidly in recent decades. However, the microbial community dynamics and responses to this water hypoxia are still unclear.

We aim to unveil the immune infiltration pattern in the glomerulus of DN and provide potential targets for immunotherapy.
Methods: Infiltrating percentage of 22 types of immune cell in the glomerulus tissues were estimated by the CIBERSORT algorithm based on three transcriptome datasets mined from the GEO database.
Purpose: To assess the efficacy of autogenous "structured" bone grafting (ASBG), it was combined with superior plate (SP) revision operations for recalcitrant clavicular midshaft aseptic nonunion (CMAN).
Methods: This retrospective study included 12 patients who suffered from failure of autologous cancellous bone grafting (ACBG) and SP fixation because of CMAN. Visual analogue scale (VAS) data for pain and disabilities of arm, shoulder, and hand (DASH) scores of patients who underwent these procedures from January 2019 to December 2020, obtained before surgery and at the final follow-up time, were analysed.

Poor adhesion of nickel surface limits its further application in the aerospace field. In this study, plasma modification was conducted on the surface of the nickel plate pretreated by sandblasting, and then ultrasonic vibration was applied during the adhesively bonding process of the CFRP(Carbon fibre-reinforced polymer)/Ni joints. The bonding strength of the joints was increased by 65%.

By combining functional signals with structural features of WM, the current study characterizes functional and structural impairments of WM in cerebelar type multiple system atrophy, with the goal to derive new mechanistic insights into the pathological progression of this disease. Our analysis of 30 well-diagnosed patients revealed pronounced decreases in functional connectivity in WM bundles of the cerebellum and brainstem, and concomitant local structural alterations that depended on the disease stage.

In this study, a dimotif lattice paradigm that can adjust the strength of one grouping principle was used to inspect how, when, and where the processing of two grouping principles (proximity and similarity) were carried out in human brain. Our psychophysical findings demonstrated that similarity grouping effect was enhanced with reduced proximity effect when the grouping cues of proximity and similarity were presented simultaneously.

As the largest subunit of the nuclear remodeling factor complex, Bromodomain PHD Finger Transcription Factor (BPTF) has been reported to be involved in tumorigenesis and development in several cancers. However, to date, its functions and related molecular mechanisms in colorectal cancer (CRC) are still poorly defined and deserve to be revealed. In this study, we uncovered that, under the expression regulation of c-Myc, BPTF promoted CRC progression by targeting Cdc25A.

The current study evaluated the efficacy and safety of a denosumab biosimilar, QL1206 (60 mg), compared to placebo in postmenopausal Chinese women with osteoporosis and high fracture risk. At 31 study centers in China, a total of 455 postmenopausal women with osteoporosis and high fracture risk were randomly assigned to receive QL1206 (60 mg subcutaneously every 6 months) or placebo. From baseline to the 12-month follow-up, the participants who received QL1206 showed significantly increased bone mineral density (BMD) values (mean difference and 95% CI) in the lumbar spine: 4.

Efficient and stable water-splitting electrocatalysts play a key role to obtain green and clean hydrogen energy. However, only a few kinds of materials display an intrinsically good performance towards water splitting. It is significant but challengeable to effectively improve the catalytic activity of inert or less active catalysts for water splitting.

Background: Anomalous origin of a coronary artery (AOCA) is defined as the failure of the coronary artery to originate from the normal coronary sinus. The anomalous origin of the left coronary artery arising from the right coronary sinus is rare, dangerous and at risk of malignant arrhythmia, sudden death, and high mortality.
Case Presentation: In this study, we present a 14-year-old adolescent male who went to a hospital with transient unconsciousness after exercise, who subsequently developed cardio arrest due to malignant arrhythmia.
