There is a continued need for identification of novel disease drivers of acute myeloid leukemia as many patients experience relapse and have poor clinical outcomes. Analyses from our study and publicly available datasets predicted CEBPD as a novel tumor suppressor gene in acute myeloid leukemia. Consistent with the analyses, CEBPD knockdown experiments showed activation of MAPK signaling with concomitant increase in cell growth rate, while upregulation experiments suggested induction of myeloid differentiation marker CD14 expression in AML cell lines OCI-AML2 and OCI-AML5.

The detailed mechanisms underlying the regulatory significance of dietary components in modulating anti-tumor immunity remain largely unknown. Here, we apply a co-culture-based screening approach using a blood nutrient compound library and identify zeaxanthin (ZEA), a dietary carotenoid pigment found in many fruits and vegetables and known for its role in eye health, as an immunomodulator that enhances the cytotoxicity of CD8 T cells against tumor cells. Oral supplementation with ZEA, but not its structural isomer lutein (LUT), enhances anti-tumor immunity in vivo.

Recent studies have shown that avian microbiota can be passed to the next generation via the eggshell and egg albumen. However, it remains unclear whether these microbial communities are regulated by nutrition and how they are associated with the host genotype.

Hyperactivation caused by mutations in the Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor (EGFR) kinase domain is implicated in various diseases, including cancer. However, the structural mechanisms underlying overactivation in many EGFR mutations remain poorly understood, and exploring these mechanisms through conventional experiments or simulations is often labor- and cost-intensive. Here, we establish a Molecular Dynamics (MD) protocol capable of rapidly revealing EGFR mutant modes of action using multiple short simulations.

Krüppel-like factor 4 (KLF4) is a zinc finger transcription factor that exhibits both transcriptional activation and inhibition effects. It participates in the occurrence and development of various diseases by regulating processes such as cell cycle arrest, differentiation, and the maintenance of stem cell pluripotency. Autophagy, as a conserved lysosome dependent degradation pathway in eukaryotes, maintains cellular homeostasis by clearing abnormal proteins and damaged organelles.

Herein, we developed a high-throughput characterization platform for high-viscosity rice soup analysis using Neutral Desorption Extractive Electrospray Ionization Mass Spectrometry (ND-EESI-MS) with untargeted metabolomics. The chemical fingerprint of high-viscosity rice soup was directly analyzed by ND-EESI-MS, with exogenous (, heavy metals and pesticides) and endogenous pollutants detected qualitative and quantitative tandem mass spectrometry.

Purpose: Unexplained neurological dysfunction often occurs in patients after spinal tuberculosis(STB) surgery; therefore, this study aimed to analyze the causes of this dysfunction from the perspectives of the patient's preoperative inflammatory state, carrier bacterial state, and increased degree of autoimmunity.
Patients And Methods: We collected 247 patients with STB and 270 patients with degenerative diseases of the spine admitted from May 2015 to December 2024 at the Second Hospital of Shanxi Medical University. According to the exclusion criteria, 132 patients for each disease were included in this study.
Leveraging the unique properties of functionalized hydrogen-bonded organic frameworks (EDTA-HOFs), this study develops a dual-mode sensor platform-combining fluorescence and electrochemiluminescence-for the swift and sensitive detection of mercury ions (Hg⁺) in homogeneous solutions. We use tris(4,4'-dicarboxy-2, 2'-bipyridine)ruthenium(II) [Ru(dcbpy)₃⁺] as the signal emitter, introducing a heavy metal ion chelator (EDTA) into its structure and synthesizing the hydrogen-bonded organic framework compound EDTA-HOFs through intermolecular hydrogen bonding. EDTA-HOFs exhibit a large specific surface area and a robust hydrogen-bonding network, offering optimal N,N'-chelation sites for efficient metal ion recognition, thereby markedly improving the stability of both fluorescence (FL) and electrochemiluminescence (ECL) signals.

Through an integrative analysis of tissue-specific gene regulatory variation with genome-wide association studies, we detected relevant tissue types and several candidate genes for a number of agronomic traits, including leaf during the day for the anthesis-silking interval, leaf during the day for kernel Zeinoxanthin level, and root for ear height, highlighting the potential contribution of tissue-specific gene expression to variation in agronomic traits. Using transcriptome-wide association and colocalization analysis, we associated tissue-specific expression variation of 74 genes to agronomic traits variation.

Natrium superionic conductor (NASICON) compounds have emerged as a rising star in the field of sodium-ion batteries (SIBs) owing to their stable framework structure and high Na ionic conductivity. The NASICON-structured NaVTi(PO) manifests significant potential as Na storage material, characterized by decent rate capability and cyclability. However, the low redox potential of Ti/Ti and undesirable energy density limit its practical applications.

We previously showed that TRPM4 activity can be blocked by our antibodies: M4P, which targets rat TRPM4 and M4M, against a similar antigenic epitope of human TRPM4. M4P and M4M demonstrated efficacy in mitigating stroke reperfusion injury.

Specifically partnered with AgOTf, the new chiral ligands effectively and enantioselectively catalyzed the cyclopropanations of diazo oxindoles and α-arylidene diazo succinimides with aromatic alkenes in good to excellent enantioselectivities (up to 98%ee) with moderate to excellent yields (up to 89% yield). Our protocol has disclosed the first example of silver-catalyzed highly enantioselective cyclopropanation of diazo carbonates.

The hippocampus, a brain region closely connected to the amygdala, plays a key role in the pathological processes of PTSD. The N6-methyladenosine (mA) methylation of RNAs in the hippocampus is known to play a significant role in regulating the brain's response to stress and emotional disorders.
