Rainbow trout(Oncorhynchus mykiss) is a typical cold-water fish often threatened by high summer temperatures. Nano-selenium as a feed additive can improve the antioxidant capacity of the body and relieve stress. In this study, different levels of nano-selenium (0, 5 and 10 mg/kg) were added to the feed of rainbow trout to determine the changes in spleen structure and expression of related genes in rainbow trout at the proper temperature (18℃) and heat stress temperature (24℃).

Rationale: Dapsone is used for treating infectious and immunological disorders, but it may cause dapsone hypersensitivity syndrome (DHS), a serious concern for medical staff. However, in non-leprotic patients, the manifestations of DHS can be atypical and various, leading to diagnostic challenges and potential delays in treatment initiation, which requires attention.
Patient Concerns: A 17-year-old Chinese male developed DHS after 3-week dapsone treatment for vasculitis, showing the risk of dapsone use in young patients.
The potential of low-intensity pulsed ultrasound (LIPUS) in regulating ovarian function has been demonstrated; however, there is a lack of scientific evidence regarding the long-term efficacy of LIPUS in treating ovarian injury and understanding its regulatory mechanisms. In this study, 4-vinylcyclohexene diepoxide (VCD) was used to induce ovarian injury in rats, and LIPUS was applied to target the damaged ovarian tissues. The research aimed to investigate the long-term protective effect of LIPUS against ovum toxicity induced by VCD and elucidate the associated molecular mechanisms.

Therefore, it is crucial to develop effective vaccines and elucidate their mechanisms of action. Here, we revealed the mechanism of immune response of Astragalus polysaccharide (APS) combined with IHNV inactivated vaccine on rainbow trout spleen by serum enzyme activity assay, histopathological analysis, RNA-seq and viral load measurement.

Although low-intensity pulsed ultrasound (LIPUS) has been proven effective in treating POI, its impact on the associated complications remains unexplored. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the effects of LIPUS irradiation on osteoporosis and dyslipidemia in a mouse model of POI.

Objective: This study examines biosafety management practices in a psychiatric hospital's laboratory in China, focusing on how outdated information technology impacts the hospital's ability to respond to public health emergencies. The goal is to enhance the hospital's emergency response capabilities by updating risk assessments, biosafety manuals, and implementing a comprehensive quality management system alongside a specialized infection control system for significant respiratory diseases.
Methods: We utilized an integrated research approach, expanding the scope of risk assessments, updating the biosafety manual according to the latest international standards, and implementing a quality management system.
Microcystin-LR (MC-LR) are biologically active cycloheptapeptide compounds that are released by cyanobacteria during water blooms and are extensively found in aquatic ecosystems. The is a significant species in global aquaculture. However, the high level of eutrophication in aquaculture water frequently leads to outbreaks of cyanobacterial blooms, posing a significant threat to its sustainable cultivation.

Here, the spleen region of Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats with sepsis was irradiated with low-intensity ultrasound (LIUS) to explore the regulation of inflammation and its mechanism by LIUS.
Methods: In this study, 30 rats used for survival analysis were randomly divided into the sham-operated group (Sham, n = 10), the group in which sepsis was induced by cecal ligation and puncture (CLP, n = 10) and the group treated with LIUS immediately after CLP (LIUS, n = 10).
Background: Rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) is a typical cold-water fish. With global warming and extreme heat, high summer temperatures are the biggest threat to rainbow trout farming. Rainbow trout initiate stress defense mechanisms in response to thermal stimuli, and competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) regulation of target genes (mRNAs) mediated by non-coding RNAs (microRNAs [miRNAs], long non-coding RNAs) may be the main strategy for responding to thermal stimuli and enhancing adaptation.

The present study reports the case of a 17-year-old diagnosed with GPS during the thirteenth week of pregnancy. Prompt recognition and immediate treatment (steroids and plasma exchange) was initiated.

Waterborne nitrocellulose (WNC) dispersion was successfully synthesized by self emulsification and reaction among isophorone diisocyanate (IPDI), dimethylol propionic acid (DMPA) and nitrocellulose (NC). The WNC was characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy and thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA), etc. The WNC dispersion has Z-average particle size of 133 nm approximately and distribution index of 0.
