One of the conditions of submission of a paper for publication is that authors declare explicitly that their work is original and has not appeared in a publication elsewhere. Re-use of any data should be appropriately cited. As such this article represents an abuse of the scientific publishing system. The scientific community takes a very strong view on this matter and apologies are offered to readers of the journal that this was not detected during the submission process. Journal records indicate that confirmation of the submission and publication of the article was sent to the first author’s email address, in addition to an email that used the corresponding author's name (guoyitangforwork@163.com). The corresponding author and the first author wish to mention that the co-author Zion T.H. Tse was not involved in the preparation and handling of this article. He was not informed about the publication and he did not grant the use of his name and affiliation in the publication. Prof. S. Petter Lyngstadaas, Dr. Hanna Tiainen and Dr. Sebastian Geissler from University of Oslo are acknowledged for the considerable effort put into collecting the evidence and reporting this case of multiple publication.

The pericarp and pulp of the pitaya (Hylocereus polyrhizus cv. 'Zihonglong') accumulate high abundance of betalain, which are red-purple pigments with antioxidant activity. Previously, a basic helix-loop-helix transcription factor, named bHLH159, has been identified to facilitate betalain biosynthesis in pitaya via the transactivation of arginine dehydrogenase 1 (ADH1) and 4,5-DOPA extradiol dioxygenase 1 (DODA1).

Drought and liming impacts of mine-impacted wetland sediments.

CanmetMINING, Natural Resources Canada, Ottawa, ON, Canada. Electronic address:

Acid mine drainage (AMD) is a serious environmental problem at legacy and active mine sites around the world. Climate associated drought and rewetting events can increase the severity of AMD impacts through oxidation and release of stored metal(loid)s and acidity from contaminated sediments. The area surrounding Sudbury, Ontario, with its massive mining and smelting complexes, appears especially vulnerable to drought-driven effects.

Cancer incidence and mortality in Italy, 2013-2017.

Cancer Epidemiol

September 2025

Environmental Epidemiology Unit, Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori, Milan, Italy.

The demographic transition, together with changes in lifestyles and the exposure to other risk factors, contributed to a rising burden of chronic degenerative diseases, including cancer, in Italy. We provided updated figures on cancer incidence and mortality in Italy during the period 2013-2017, using data provided by 34 population-based cancer registries from the AIRTUM network. Age-standardized incidence rates (ASRs) and age-standardized mortality rates (ASMRs) per 100,000 were estimated, stratified by sex, cancer site or type, and macroarea.

September 2025

Department of the Second Medical Oncology, The Third Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University, Yunnan Cancer Hospital, Kunming, China.

Objective: This study aims to evaluate the clinical outcomes of Vancouver B1 periprosthetic femoral fractures (PFF) treated with the Ortho-bridge system (OBS) internal fixation and assess the potential benefits of 3D printing technology in preoperative planning and surgical execution for these cases.

Method: This retrospective study analyzed 55 consecutive Vancouver B1 periprosthetic femoral fracture cases treated surgically at Yan'an Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University (2014-2022) with minimum 1-year follow-up. Patients were divided into conventional ORIF (n = 21) and OBS fixation groups (n = 34), with the OBS group further stratified into standard procedure (n = 18) and 3D-printing-assisted (n = 16) subgroups.
