The inflammatory response in liver sinusoidal endothelial cells (LSECs) is crucial to the pathophysiology of postoperative hepatic failure. The unfolded protein response (UPR) in LSECs following surgical stress exerts an important mechanism for resolving endothelial inflammation and re-establishing liver homeostasis. We employed 80% hepatectomy in mice to simulate extended hepatectomy and verified the gene expression in the patients who underwent marginal hepatectomy.

Objective: C-arm computed tomography (CT) has always played an important role in neurointerventional surgery, in this study, we aimed to investigate the value of high-resolution C-arm CT in evaluating stent expansion and apposition in carotid arteries of Guangxi Bama piglets.
Methods: Twenty-four stents were implanted in the carotid arteries of 24 Guangxi Bama piglets. High-resolution C-arm CT was performed to evaluate stent expansion and the quality of processed images, followed by three-dimensional digital subtraction angiography (3D-DSA).
C(sp)-H activation and functionalization of unactivated hydrocarbons has provided enormous opportunities for the construction of diverse organic molecules, which facilitates the structural modification of pharmaceutical molecules. To achieve this goal, the direct hydrogen atom transfer (HAT) via radical pathway has become an attractive strategy. Taking the advantage of photo/electrochemistry, we herein describe oxidative C(sp)-H amination and etherification reactions via a photoelectrochemical pathway, which could directly transform easily available hydrocarbons into N-heterocycle and ether products under mild conditions.

This paper presents the synthesis of a 2D Cu-BDC-NH nanosheet at room temperature, which has been applied for the noninvasive diagnosis and point-of-care test (POCT) of lung cancer. During this approach, the hydrazine group in the ligand molecule was employed to enhance the intrinsic fluorescence of Cu-BDC-NH through a Schiff base reaction with formaldehyde (HCHO), thereby reducing the detection limits of HCHO gas and aqueous solution (25 ppb and 0.

In this study, we present a comprehensive strategy for assessing mitochondrial toxicity, exemplified through a case study on medium-chain chlorinated paraffins (MCCPs, CHCl with 14-17 carbon atoms), one of the most abundant organic pollutants in the human body. Our results demonstrate that MCCP exposure at levels commonly found in humans significantly reduces cellular ATP content by impairing mitochondrial respiration rather than glycolysis.

TiPO is a lithium-ion batteries anode material with outstanding stability and high safety due to its strong polyanion three-dimensional frame structure. However, poor electrical conductivity severely represses the rate capability of TiPO anode. Herein, a porous TiPO/nitrogen-doped carbon (CN) composite with tailored (630) and (600) preferential crystallographic orientation is achieved by the ball-milling and thermal treatment strategy.

As an emerging persistent organic pollutant, their toxicity mechanisms, particularly concerning the female reproductive system, remain poorly understood. In this study, we present both and evidence of ovarian toxicity induced by MCCPs and insights into their underlying molecular mechanisms.

However, genetic research on plants within the family has primarily focused on taxonomy and phylogenetics, with limited exploration into other genetic aspects, particularly the chloroplast genome. Given the significance of chloroplast genomes in evolutionary studies, a deeper understanding of their structure and diversity within Heliconia is essential.

In this reaction, -aminopyridinium salts and the Breslow intermediate, which is generated from NHC and aldehydes, are utilized to undergo a single-electron transfer process, forming a ketyl radical intermediate and amidyl radicals. Subsequent to the formation of the amidyl radical, it undergoes selective capture by alkenes, followed by radical cross-coupling to yield the desired β-amino ketones.

Chlorinated paraffins (CPs) are intricate industrial compounds synthesized through alkane chlorination. Researches on the size distribution of short-chain (SCCPs) and medium-chain chlorinated paraffins (MCCPs) in atmospheric particulate matter (PM) are limited. Here, we conducted a thorough investigation on the size-dependent distribution characteristics, deposition behavior in respiratory tract, and health risks associated with CPs in atmospheric PM.

Cetaceans play a crucial role in marine ecosystems; however, research on their gastrointestinal microbiota remains limited due to sampling constraints. In this study, we collected hindgut samples from 12 stranded cetaceans and performed 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing to investigate microbial composition and functional potentials. Analysis of ZOTUs profiles revealed that the phyla Firmicutes, Proteobacteria, and Bacteroidetes dominated all hindgut samples.

An enzyme catalyzed strategy for the synthesis of a chiral hydrazine from 3-cyclopentyl-3-oxopropanenitrile and hydrazine hydrate is presented. An imine reductase (IRED) from was identified to catalyze the reaction between 3-cyclopentyl-3-oxopropanenitrile and hydrazine hydrate to produce trace amounts of ()-3-cyclopentyl-3-hydrazineylpropanenitrile . We employed a 2-fold approach to optimize the catalytic performance of this enzyme.

Nowadays, traditional single-omics study is not enough to explain the causality between molecular alterations and toxicity endpoints for environmental pollutants. With the development of high-throughput sequencing technology and high-resolution mass spectrometry technology, the integrative analysis of multi-omics has become an efficient strategy to understand holistic biological mechanisms and to uncover the regulation network in specific biological processes. This review summarized sample preparation methods, integration analysis tools and the application of multi-omics integration analyses in environmental toxicology field.

The results indicate that an increase in volume energy density can promote a transition from a columnar to an equiaxed grain structure and suppress the anisotropy of mechanical properties. Specifically, at a volume energy density of 83.
