This study aims to systematically review and meta-analyze the literature to evaluate the comparative safety and efficacy of IVT plus EVT versus EVT alone in AIS patients with TL.

The systematic identification of human-virus protein-protein interactions (PPIs) is a critical step toward elucidating the underlying mechanisms of viral infection, directly informing the development of targeted interventions against existing and emerging viral threats. In this work, we presented DeepGNHV, an end-to-end framework that integrated a pretrained protein language model with structural features derived from AlphaFold2 and leveraged graph attention networks to predict human-virus PPIs. In comparison to other state-of-the-art approaches, DeepGNHV exhibited superior predictive performance, especially when applied to viral proteins absent from the training process, indicating its strong generalization capability for detecting newly emerging virus-related PPIs.

Hepatocellular Carcinoma in Cystic Fibrosis Liver Disease.

Cystic fibrosis, traditionally considered an infrequent childhood disease, has increased in incidence due to advances in screening, and therapies fortunately have advanced leading to increased survival rates. Cystic fibrosis liver disease (CFLD) is well-described in the pediatric population; however, with increased life expectancy rates, a second wave has been observed in adults and represents the third most common cause of death. Although complications of portal hypertension have been described in setting of CFLD, the development of hepatocellular carcinoma is an extremely rare event.

Methods: An immunosuppressed, diabetic cynomolgus monkey received allogeneic islet implants in its mesenteric venous sac, with metabolic assessments over 112 days.

Methods: Eyes with symptomatic GA secondary to AMD were treated with 15mg of intravitreal pegcetacoplan and participated in an ongoing prospective swept-source optical coherence tomography angiography (SS-OCTA) imaging study.

Ovarian and endometrial cancers frequently harbor a mutation in the tumor suppressor gene TP53, which occurs in over 90 % of ovarian cancers and in the most aggressive endometrial cancers. The normal tumor suppressive functions of p53 are disrupted, resulting in unregulated cell growth and therapeutic resistance to standard treatments including chemotherapy and PARP inhibitors. Hence, a novel therapeutic strategy is urgently needed for p53 mutant gynecologic cancers, and we propose that converting mutant p53 to a wild type conformation and restoring its tumor suppressive functions has the potential to greatly improve treatment.

Intraocular pressure changes following vitrectomy with and without phacoemulsification: an American Academy of Ophthalmology IRIS® registry analysis.

Objective: To describe observed intraocular pressure (IOP) changes following vitrectomy (PPV) surgery and PPV combined with phacoemulsification in eyes with and without glaucoma.

Methods: A total of 20,894 patients from the American Academy of Ophthalmology IRIS® Registry (Intelligent Research in Sight) who underwent vitrectomy surgery for epiretinal membrane or vitreous opacities from January 2016 to March 2023 were included. Mean IOPs from postoperative day 1, days 2-10, days 11-30, and then monthly through 6 months were compared to baseline.
