Methods: This study analyzed the clinicopathological features of 421 CRA patients who underwent colonoscopy and adenectomy, and evaluated the recurrence of polyps under colonoscopy.

The super-enhancer, a cluster of enhancers with strong transcriptional activity, has become one of the most interesting topics in recent years. This study aimed to investigate pathogenic super-enhancer-driven genes in IBD and screen therapeutic drugs based on the results. In this study, through the analysis of differentially expressed genes in colitis patients from the GEO database and the analysis of the super-enhancer-associated database, we found that the super-enhancer pathogenic genes PCK1 and EFNA1 were simultaneously regulated by transcription factor CEBPB through two super-enhancers (sc-CHR20-57528535 and sc-CHR1-155093980).

Although the precise etiology is unknown, developments in high-throughput microbial genomic sequencing significantly illuminate the changes in the intestinal microbial structure and functions in patients with IBD. The application of microbial metabolomics suggests that the microbiota can influence IBD pathogenesis by producing metabolites, which are implicated as crucial mediators of host-microbial crosstalk.

Background: Accurate assessment of lymph node status in gastric cancer (GC) patients can help to select appropriate treatment strategies for GC, but the diagnostic accuracy of conventional methods needs to be improved. The aim of this study was to investigate the predictive value of preoperative hemoglobin and albumin levels and lymphocyte and platelet counts (HALP) on lymph node status in GC patients and to construct a risk prediction model.
Methods: This study retrospectively analyzed the clinicopathological characteristics of 349 patients with GC who underwent radical gastrectomy, among which 250 patients were recruited in the training cohort and 99 patients in the independent validation cohort.

Accumulating evidence from studies in humans and animal models has elucidated that gut microbiota, acting as a complex ecosystem, contributes critically to colorectal cancer (CRC). The potential mechanisms often reported emphasize the vital role of carcinogenic activities of specific pathogens, but in fact, a series of metabolites produced from exogenous dietary substrates or endogenous host compounds occupy a decisive position similarly. Detrimental gut microbiota-derived metabolites such as trimethylamine-N-oxide, secondary bile acids, hydrogen sulfide and N-nitroso compounds could reconstruct the ecological composition and metabolic activity of intestinal microorganisms and formulate a microenvironment that opens susceptibility to carcinogenic stimuli.
