Breast cancer continues to pose a significant global health burden, highlighting the urgent need for novel chemotherapeutic agents with improved selectivity and reduced toxicity. In this study, we rationally designed and synthesized six novel amide-bridged triazole-coumarin hybrids (5a-f) based on the known anticancer potential of both pharmacophores. The synthesized compounds were evaluated for their cytotoxicity in MCF-7 and MDA─MB─231 breast cancer cell lines and non-tumorigenic MCF-10A cells.

Faculty of Science and Health, School of Medicine, Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences, University of Portsmouth, St Michael's Building, White Swan Road, Portsmouth, PO1 2DT UK.

Unlabelled: Biodegradable magnesium (Mg) alloys are promising for various biomedical applications but their susceptibility to corrosion poses significant challenges. This study systematically examines the microstructural integrity and failure mechanisms of electrochemically deposited phosphate- and fluorine-rich coatings on AZ31 Mg alloy subjected to three-point bending (3 PB) in both non-corrosive and physiological (HBSS) environments. High-resolution digital image correlation (HR-DIC) combined with scanning electron microscopy (SEM) enables in situ visualization and quantitative analysis of crack initiation, evolution, and propagation within the coatings.

The mechanical behavior of prosthetic liners significantly influences stress distribution, soft tissue protection, and the overall efficiency of the prosthetic. While extensive research has been conducted on liner materials, the impact of liner thickness (2 mm, 4 mm, and 6 mm) on biomechanical response remains underexplored. This study utilizes finite element analysis in Abaqus to investigate how liner material (Gel vs.

Sortilin regulates lipid metabolism, adipogenesis, and inflammation in obesity. While the anti-inflammatory and lipid-modulating effects of krill oil (KO) on obesity are well known, its effects on sortilin remain insufficiently investigated. This study investigates the potential effects of KO supplementation on sortilin and pro-inflammatory cytokine levels in rats fed a high-fat diet (HFD).

Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), caused by SARS-CoV-2, has posed a significant global public health challenge, with long-term sequelae such as post-COVID-19 syndrome continuing to burden health systems. Tobacco use, a major preventable cause of morbidity and mortality, impairs the immune response and exacerbates respiratory diseases, including COVID-19. Passive smoking, an important but often overlooked public health problem, exposes non-smokers to harmful health risks and may contribute to worse outcomes in respiratory disease.
