Glioblastoma (GBM) is a highly malignant brain tumor with limited treatment options and poor prognosis. GBM exhibits resistance to conventional therapies, including temozolomide (TMZ), radiotherapy, and immunotherapy, partly due to immunosuppressive mechanisms such as programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) overexpression. To address these challenges, we developed TMZ-loaded nanostructured lipid carriers (NLCs) conjugated with anti-PD-L1 single-chain variable fragments (scFv) for dual chemo-immunotherapy.

Leeds Institute of Rheumatic and Musculoskeletal Medicine, University of Leeds, Leeds, UK; Rheumatology Unit, Department of Clinical and Molecular Sciences, "Carlo Urbani" Hospital, Polytechnic University of Marche, Ancona, Italy. Electronic address:

Objectives: To explore the prevalence and distribution of ultrasound-detected lesions indicating structural damage at the enthesis (e.g., bone erosions, enthesophytes, and calcifications) in patients with spondyloarthritis (SpA), comparing those with axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA) and psoriatic arthritis (PsA), and to investigate the demographic, clinical, and metabolic factors linked to these lesions.

Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate the impact of different hearing devices on sound localization and speech perception in individuals with single-sided deafness (SSD). Specifically, the study sought to assess the performance of softband bone-anchored hearing aids (BAHAs) and contralateral routing of signals hearing aids (CROS HA) in various conditions to determine their effectiveness in improving auditory outcomes for SSD patients.

Method: Eighteen participants (aged between 20 and 50 years) with SSD underwent tests using softband BAHA, CROS HA, and unaided conditions in a counterbalanced design.

Background: This study aims to assess the diagnostic value and problem-solving utility of follow-up abdominopelvic computed tomography (CT) scans performed within 10 days of the initial presentation for acute non-traumatic abdominal symptoms in the emergency department.

Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on patients who presented with acute abdominal symptoms to the emergency department between January 1, 2013 and May 30, 2023, and underwent abdominopelvic CT scans in the acute setting. Among this cohort, 149 patients had repeat abdominopelvic CT scans during the same admission and were classified into five groups based on findings: Group A (no change in diagnosis), Group B (confirmation of suspected initial diagnosis), Group C (disease progression), Group D (disease regression), and Group E (new diagnosis).

Background: Intermediate-risk prostate cancer (IR-PC) represents a heterogeneous group requiring nuanced treatment approaches, and recent advancements in radiotherapy (RT), androgen deprivation therapy (ADT), and prostate-specific membrane antigen positron emission tomography (PSMA-PET/CT) imaging have prompted growing interest in personalized, risk-adapted management strategies. This study by the Turkish Society for Radiation Oncology aims to examine radiation oncologists' practices in managing IR-PC, focusing on RT and imaging modalities to identify trends for personalized treatments.

Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted among Turkish radiation oncologists treating at least 50 prostate cancer (PC) cases annually.

Background: Gender medicine is an evolving discipline that examines how diseases manifest and progress differently in men and women. Tailoring medical therapies and diagnostic approaches can enhance patient outcomes. While radiomics is emerging as a promising tool in personalized medicine, few studies evaluate its role in gender medicine within radiology.

Objective The objective of this study is to compare guideline adherence between artificial intelligence (AI) models (Claude-3 (Anthropic, San Francisco, CA), DeepSeek-V2 (DeepSeek, Hangzhou, China), GPT-4 (OpenAI, San Francisco, CA)) and human experts in dyslipidemia management using standardized clinical scenarios based on 2019 European Society of Cardiology (ESC)/European Atherosclerosis Society (EAS) and 2021 ESC prevention guidelines. The study employed a comprehensive evaluation framework to capture the holistic nature of dyslipidemia management across multiple interconnected domains. Methods Thirty fictitious but clinically representative cases were developed by lipid specialists across five domains: cardiovascular risk assessment, lipid management, lifestyle modifications, pharmacotherapy, and special populations.

Background: 5-aminosalicylates (5-ASA) are the primary treatment for mild to moderate ulcerative colitis (UC). Maintenance therapy with 5-ASA has been shown to reduce both the risk of relapse and colorectal cancer.

Aim: To evaluate the outcomes of 5-ASA withdrawal due to non-adherence in UC patients while in remission on monotherapy.

Introduction: Bleomycin-electrosclerotherapy (BEST) is a novel treatment for slow-flow vascular malformations (SFVMs), most studied in venous malformations. This study specifically evaluated its safety and clinical outcome in lymphatic/lymphatic-dominant lympho-venous malformations (LMs/ld-LVMs).

Materials And Methods: A monocentric cohort with symptomatic LMs or ld-LVMs treated by BEST was retrospectively assessed.

Perovskites have significant potential to improve efficiency, reduce the costs of conventional oxidation catalysts, and contribute to cleaner and more sustainable energy solutions. However, numerous structural factors influencing their catalytic performance are still a subject to debate. In this study, simple perovskite nanoparticles in the form of LaCoO (LC) and LaMnO (LM), as well as LaCo Mn O (LCM)-mixed B-site perovskites with different B-site cations, were synthesized and their performances in CO oxidation and NO oxidation reactions were examined.

Background: Although cases of tenosynovitis associated with foreign bodies are documented in the literature, there is no reported instance of the treatment of foreign body-associated tenosynovitis with ultrasound (US)-guided steroid injection. The use of corticosteroid injection under US guidance for flexor tenosynovitis associated with foreign bodies is a noteworthy subject.

Case Report: In this case report, we present the contribution of US-guided targeted steroid injection to the treatment of flexor tenosynovitis of the third finger of the left hand associated with a foreign body.

We report an unusual case of a 13-year-old boy who sustained multiple traumatic cardiac injuries-including ventricular septal and Gerbode defects, aortic dissection, and severe tricuspid regurgitation (TR)-following a high-pressure truck tire explosion. The patient underwent successful endovascular and surgical repair, with full recovery observed at the 1-year follow-up. This case highlights the importance of thorough evaluation and individualized management in pediatric patients with complex cardiac trauma resulting from uncommon high-energy mechanisms.

Purpose: Although recent studies have emphasized the importance of the adductor pollicis (AdP) and first dorsal interosseous (FDI) muscles in maintaining trapeziometacarpal (TMC) joint function, the viscoelastic properties of these muscles in the presence of TMC osteoarthritis (OA) remain unclear. This study aimed to investigate differences in the elasticity of the AdP and FDI muscles in patients with TMC OA, thereby contributing to the understanding of muscular changes associated with the disease.

Methods: Eighteen patients with TMC OA (29 thumbs) and 13 age- and sex-matched asymptomatic controls (26 thumbs) were included.

UOC Rheumatology and Autoinflammatory Diseases, IRCCS Istituto Giannina Gaslini, Genova, Italy.

Background: Although typical findings of familial Mediterranean fever (FMF), such as brief fever episodes and abdominal or chest pain, have been largely described, little is known about the neurological manifestations of the disease in childhood.

Methods: A systematic search of the literature was conducted in PubMed/Medline, Cochrane, and Web of Science databases in accordance with the PRISMA guidelines, using MeSH terms related to FMF and neurological manifestations. Studies involving patients under 18 years of age diagnosed with FMF with neurological manifestations were included.
