Background: Early recognition of multiple sclerosis (MS) remains a pivotal challenge. Little is understood about the trajectories of health care use before recognition of adult-onset MS, and the relationship of the trajectories with subsequent disability.
Methods: We accessed linked clinical and population-based health administrative data in British Columbia, Canada (1991-2020).

Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and several halogenated flame retardants (HFRs) are chemicals of high environmental and human health concerns. Accidental indoor dust-ingestion and dietary intake currently account for the primary human exposure pathways. There is however increasing evidence of the importance of inhalation exposure to these chemicals.

Background: The need to investigate safe and innovative clinical therapies is highlighted by the fact that chronic recurrent aphthous ulcers, also known as recurrent aphthous stomatitis, are a very prevalent but poorly understood mucosal condition that significantly affects patients' quality of life with frequent recurrences. Although aphthous ulcers have received a lot of clinical and research attention, treatment is usually symptomatic. Despite a plethora of therapeutic options for oral ulcers in Unani medicine, there is little empirical evidence to support them.

Integrin α5β1 is crucial for cell attachment and migration in development and tissue regeneration, and α5β1 binding proteins can have considerable utility in regenerative medicine and next-generation therapeutics. We use computational protein design to create de novo α5β1-specific modulating miniprotein binders, called NeoNectins, that bind to and stabilize the open state of α5β1. When immobilized onto titanium surfaces and throughout 3D hydrogels, the NeoNectins outperform native fibronectin (FN) and RGD peptides in enhancing cell attachment and spreading, and NeoNectin-grafted titanium implants outperformed FN- and RGD-grafted implants in animal models in promoting tissue integration and bone growth.

Background: The Unani system of medicine is rooted in the Theory of Humors, where health is maintained through the balance of four bodily fluids (blood, phlegm, bile, and black bile). Its treatment approach is holistic, encompassing Ilaj bil Tadbeer (Regimental therapy), Ilaj bil Ghida (Dietotherapy), Ilaj bil Dawa (Pharmacotherapy), and Ilaj bil Yad (Surgery). Huqna (enema) is a key non-pharmacological regimen therapy in Unani medicine, used to cleanse the bowels and restore humoral balance.

Diagnostic certainty is the cornerstone of modern medicine and critical for maximal treatment benefit. When evaluating biomarker expression by immunohistochemistry (IHC), however, pathologists are hindered by complex scoring methodologies, unique positivity cut-offs and subjective staining interpretation. Artificial intelligence (AI) can potentially eliminate diagnostic uncertainty, especially when AI "trustworthiness" is proven by expert pathologists in the context of real-world clinical practice.

Rubber-modified asphalt (RMA) faces several challenges, including poor workability, difficult construction, and high energy consumption. The incorporation of renewable light oils offers a promising solution to address issues such as high viscosity and elevated carbon emissions in asphalt modified with a high dosage of rubber powder. The investigation of light oil and rubber powder composite-modified asphalt under low-temperature (160 °C) and short-term (30 min) shear processes is essential for understanding its rheological behavior and modification mechanism.

Importance: Cytokine storm (CS) is a hyperinflammatory syndrome causing multiorgan dysfunction and high mortality, especially in patients with malignant hematologic neoplasms. Triggers include malignant neoplasm-associated hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (MN-HLH), cytokine release syndrome from chimeric antigen receptor T-cell therapy (CAR-T CRS), and COVID-19, but the underlying mechanisms of inflammation and their impact on outcomes are poorly understood.
Objective: To delineate the inflammatory patterns characterizing different CS etiologies and their association with clinical outcomes.
