Cancer continues to be a major global health challenge, necessitating the ongoing development of novel small-molecule therapeutics that can selectively target DNA and disrupt cancer cell proliferation. In this study we report the synthesis and characterization of novel guanidine derivatives (7a-j). Their DNA-binding potential was assessed through electronic absorption spectroscopy, revealing characteristic hypochromic shifts indicative of minor groove-binding interactions with salmon sperm DNA (SS-DNA).

Misalignment is among the most frequent mechanical faults in rotating electrical machines, often resulting in partial or complete motor failure over time. To tackle this issue, the present study proposes an innovative methodology for diagnosing misalignment faults in rotating electrical machines. The method integrates the dual-tree complex wavelet transform with a refined composite multiscale fluctuation dispersion entropy algorithm (DTCWT-RCMFDE) for feature extraction, combined with the least-squares support vector machines algorithm (LSSVM) for fault classification.

This study aimed to synthesize new aza-acyclic nucleosides (aza-acyclovir) and evaluate the efficacy of these synthetic compounds as potential antimicrobial, anticancer, and antioxidant agents. We prepared two novel aza-acyclic nucleosides via two reactions. The first reaction involved trichloroisocyanuric acid and dibenzosulphonyl diethylamine, and the second reaction involved trichloroisocyanuric acid and diethanolamine.

This study presents a cutting-edge framework for assessing earthquake vulnerability and risk in residential areas of Al-Seeb, Muscat Governorate (Sultanate of Oman). Drawing upon a rich dataset encompassing seismic, geotechnical, structural, environmental, and socioeconomic parameters, thematic vulnerability maps were developed using a GIS-based analytic hierarchy process (GIS-AHP). These were systematically integrated to produce comprehensive risk matrices.

This study assessed the health risks of heavy metal contamination in groundwater in Siwa Oasis, Egypt's northwestern desert, and their potential decontamination using a marble-based nanoporous Ca-MCM-41 structure as an adsorbent. Fe, Cd, Cr, Pb, and Mn contents exceeded World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines with potential non-carcinogenic risks and carcinogenic risks based on the hazard index (HI) and Monte Carlo simulations. Ca-MCM-41 showed significant performances in the removal of most of these toxic ions with batch saturation uptake capacities of 239 mg/g Cd(II), 252 mg/g Fe(II), 308 mg/g Pb(II), 132 mg/g Cr(VI), and 154.

Wave propagation, a key area in seismology, plays a crucial role in fields such as mineral exploration, hydrocarbon detection, and infrastructure development. Therefore, this study investigates the propagation of plane waves in a homogeneous, isotropic, generalized micropolar viscothermoelastic medium under the influence of viscosity, the hyperbolic two-temperature (HTT) parameter, and impedance boundary conditions. By deriving and reducing the governing equations to two dimensions and transforming them using dimensionless quantities and potential functions, the present model captures the combined effects of thermal, viscous, and micropolar interactions.

The purpose of this paper is to introduce a mapping in the framework of a 2-uniformly smooth and uniformly convex Banach space and obtain a common solution for the fixed point set of finite families of [Formula: see text]-enriched non-expansive mappings and ([Formula: see text],[Formula: see text])-enriched strictly pseudocontractive mappings. Two solution sets of variational inequality problems are also given. Moreover, we prove several strong convergence theorems for the fixed point set of the finite family of ([Formula: see text],[Formula: see text])-enriched strictly pseudocontractive mappings and the solution set of variational inequality problems.

The continuous release of chemical substances like endocrine disruptor bisphenol-A (BPA) can cause harmful health and environmental effects in humans, wildlife and aquatic organisms. This study demonstrates the use of raw and biochar (treated) banana peel adsorbents for the elimination of bisphenol-A in a batch process. The sorption data revealed that optimum adsorption was attained at a pH of 8.

The escalating challenge of resistance to insecticides among agricultural and public health pests poses a significant threat to global food security and vector-borne disease control. This review synthesizes current understanding of the molecular mechanisms underpinning resistance, including well-characterized pathways such as target-site mutations affecting nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs), acetylcholinesterase (AChE), voltage-gated sodium channels (VGSCs), and γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) receptors, and metabolic detoxification mediated by cytochrome P450 monooxygenases (CYPs), esterases, and glutathione S-transferases (GSTs). Emerging resistance mechanisms are also explored, including protein sequestration by odorant-binding proteins and post-transcriptional regulation via non-coding RNAs, such as microRNAs (miRNAs) and long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs).

A regioselective protocol is developed and validated for the synthesis of pyrazolo[3,4-d]thiazoles and polycyclic-fused thiazoles through the reactions of 2-[((E)-benzylidene)hydrazono]-5-[(Z)-4-methoxybenzylidene]thiazolidin-4-one with hydrazine derivatives or heterocyclic amines, respectively. The products are confirmed by spectral and elemental analyses. Density functional theory studies, including frontier molecular orbital analysis, local reactivity indices, and molecular electrostatic potential mapping, explain the observed regioselectivity and support a proposed reaction mechanism.

The rise of social media has revolutionized information dissemination, creating new opportunities but also significant challenges. One such challenge is the proliferation of fake news, which undermines the credibility of journalism and contributes to societal unrest. Manually identifying fake news is impractical due to the vast volume of content, prompting the development of automated systems for fake news detection.

Three heterometallic rings, [PrNH][(PrNH)CrMF(BTFB)] (M is Ni, Co, or Zn, BTFBH = 3,5-bis(trifluoromethyl)benzoic acid) are reported, templated about a di--propylammonium cation. The ring contains six Cr(III) ions and two M(II) ions at the corners of an octagon, with the divalent metal ions disordered around the ring. Each edge of the octagon is bridged by a fluoride and two bridging BTFB ligands.
