The aaccurate prediction of enzymes with environment detoxification functions is crucial, not only to achieve a better understanding of bioremediation strategies, but also to alleviate environmental pollution. In the present study, a novel machine learning model was introduced which classifies enzymes by their toxin degradation ability. In this model, two different sets of data were used which include enzymes that can catalyze the toxin degradation as a positive dataset and non-toxin-degrading enzymes as a negative dataset.

Rice protein meal (RPM), a byproduct of the rice industry, has emerged as a potential alternative for poultry feed, especially in rice-producing regions in the South Asia region. The aim of this study was to evaluate the standardized ileal amino acid (AA) digestibility of RPM produced from two distinct rice varieties in sexed broiler chickens, with or without the inclusion of a commercial protease enzyme. Treatments were structured in a 2 × 2 × 2 factorial arrangement, including two sources of RPM (Basmati and IRI), sex (male and female), and protease levels (0 and 500 units per ton of feed).

The post-transcriptional modification of tRNAs plays a crucial role in tRNA structure and function. Pathogenic variants in tRNA-modification enzymes have been implicated in a wide range of human neurodevelopmental and neurological disorders. However, the molecular basis for many of these disorders remains unknown.

Thymoquinone (THQ), a strong antioxidant and anti-inflammatory bioactive compound has been reported in numerous studies to prevent the hepatorenal toxicity caused by various xenobiotics. Similarly, the zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnONPs) have been used to protect against the hepatorenal damages caused by oxidative stress due to their potent antioxidant properties. The aim of this study was to synthesize and investigate the possible protective effects of THQ, ZnONPs and THQ-loaded ZnONPs against CCl induced hepatorenal toxicity in albino rats.

Acinetobacter baumannii is a notorious pathogen associated with life-threatening infections, with its outer membrane protein A (OmpA) being a key contributor to its pathogenicity by targeting epithelial cell apoptosis. The study presents an in silico analysis of chalcone derivatives as potential therapeutic agents against the outer membrane protein A (OmpA) of Acinetobacter baumannii. We performed molecular docking to evaluate the binding interactions, revealing that isobavachalcone exhibited the highest binding affinity.

Sulfoxaflor (SFX) is an insecticide that is commonly used for the control of sap-feeding insects. Since SFX is extensively applied globally, it has been implicated in the substantial induction of environmental toxicity. Therefore, in this study, Allium cepa roots have been employed to elucidate the potential cytogenotoxic effects of SFX in non-target cells by examination of mitotic index (MI), chromosomal aberrations (CAs), and DNA damage.

We hypothesized that human chorionic gonadotropic (hCG) could replace LH in the maturation media for buffalo oocytes, and hCG administration before ovum pick-up (OPU) enhances in-vitro development of buffalo oocytes. Objectives were 1) to investigate the effect of hCG supplementation on nuclear maturation, oocyte development, and granulosa cell mRNA abundance of genes related to growth and antioxidant pathways and 2) to determine the effect of hCG administration before OPU on in-vitro oocyte development. In Experiment 1, buffalo oocytes retrieved from slaughterhouse ovaries were maturated in the media supplemented with 0.

Electrospray mass spectrometry has become indispensable in many disciplines including the classic "omics" techniques such as proteomics or lipidomics, as well as other life science applications in molecular, cellular, and structural biology. However, a limiting factor that often arises for the detection of biomolecular analytes is their poor ionization efficiency in the ion source. Here, we present an add-on device for the electrospray source, termed MS (MS Spectral Impurity Eliminator & Value Enhancer), which is placed between the electrospray needle and the cone of the mass spectrometer.
