Pyrabactin or Actin Resistance1/PYR1-Like/Regulatory Components of abscisic acid (ABA) Receptors (PYR/PYL/RCARs, referred to as PYLs) are direct receptors of ABA that function pivotally in the ABA-signaling pathway. Previously, we discovered that CmPYL7 was strongly upregulated by cold stress in oriental melon (Cucumis melo). In this study, we demonstrated that CmPYL7 was strongly induced by cold treatment (Cold), Cold+ABA, and Cold+fluridone (Flu, an ABA inhibitor) treatments, while the expression level of CmPYL7 under Cold+Flu is lower than that of cold treatment.

The overuse of pesticides results in excessive pesticide residues, posing a potential threat to human health. Herein, this work proposes a SERS substrate for the quantitative analysis of pesticide residues on food surfaces. Au cores are assembled on PS microspheres, followed by the modification of Raman internal standards (1,4-BDT) on the gold core surface and the growth of the Au shell.

Bio-stimulants, such as selenium nanoparticles and melatonin, regulate melon growth. However, the effects of individual and combined applications of selenium nanoparticles and melatonin on the growth of melon seedlings have not been reported. Here, two melon cultivars were sprayed with selenium nanoparticles, melatonin, and a combined treatment, and physiological and biochemical properties were analyzed.

Nano-selenium (Nano-Se), as a biological stimulant, promotes plant growth and development, as well as defense against biotic and abiotic stresses. Glutathione (GSH) is a crucial antioxidant and is also involved in the plant defense response to various stresses. In this study, the efficacy of combined treatment of Nano-Se and GSH (SeG) on the resistance of cucumber plants to was investigated in terms of the plant phenotype, gene expression, and levels of accumulated metabolites using transcriptomic and metabolomic analyses.

A novel co-bonded octyl and pyridine silica (OPS) sorbent was prepared and applied for the solid phase extraction (SPE) of cyclopiazonic acid (CPA, a type of mycotoxin) in feed and agricultural products for the first time. A simple mixed-ligand one-pot reaction strategy was employed for OPS sorbent preparation. Nitrogen adsorption-desorption measurements, elemental analysis (EI), thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA), and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) analysis demonstrated the successful immobilization of octyl and quaternary ammonium groups onto the surface of silica gel.

Herein, a dual-emission Eu metal-organic framework (Eu-MOF) is prepared and used as the ratiometric fluorescence probe for ultrasensitive detection of aminoglycoside antibiotics (AGs). Due to the strong hydrogen bond interactions between AGs and Eu-MOF, the blue emission is enhanced while the red emission has little fluctuation in Eu-MOF with the addition of AGs, thus a good linear relationship with the logarithm of AGs concentrations from 0.001 to 100 μg/mL can be established for quantitative analysis.

Herein, a fluorometric and colorimetric dual-mode assay platform used for α-glucosidase (α-Glu) activity sensing based on aggregation-induced emission enhancement (AIEE) of AuNCs was developed for the first time. The quantum yield (QY) and fluorescence lifetime of AuNCs were successfully ameliorated by Ce-triggered AIEE (Ce@AuNCs). Subsequently, on the basis of the inner filter effect (IFE) and dynamic quenching effect (DQE) between 2,6-dichlorophenolindophenol (DCIP) and Ce@AuNCs as well as the reduction of DCIP by ascorbic acid (AA) generated from α-Glu-catalyzed hydrolysis of L-ascorbic acid-2-O-α-D-glucopyranosyl (AA2G), the marriage of fluorometric and colorimetric modes applied for α-Glu activity monitoring was achieved.

The potential of Multi-AdaBoost in spectral analysis is substantial, particularly when combined with weak classifiers and trained to develop into a robust classifier. Given the variable quality of Baimudan tea sourced from diverse regions, the novel application of Raman spectroscopy in conjunction with the Multi-AdaBoost model to analyze the geographic origin of Baimudan tea was introduced. Initially, Raman spectra of Baimudan tea from four distinct origins in Fujian province were gathered, namely Fuan (FA), Fuding (FD), Zhenghe (ZH), and Songxi (SX).

Drought is an important environmental factor that influences physiological processes in plants; however, few studies have examined the physiological mechanisms underlying plants' responses to continuous drought. In this study, the seedlings and younger individuals of were experimentally planted in the southern part of the Gurbantunggut Desert. We measured their photosynthetic traits, functional traits and non-structural carbohydrate contents (NSCs) in order to assess the effects of continuous drought (at 15-day and 30-day drought points) on the plants' physiological responses.

Powdery mildew is one of the main problematic diseases in melon production, requiring the use of chemical pesticides with disease-resistant cultivars for control. However, the often rapid acquisition of fungicidal resistance by mildew pathogens makes this practice unsustainable. The identification of crop treatments that can enhance resistance to powdery mildew resistance is therefore important to reduce melon crop attrition.

Molecularly imprinted polymers with methylammonium lead halide perovskite quantum dots (MIP@MAPbBr PQDs) have been prepared and applied to the determination of benzo(a)pyrene (BaP) for the first time. The photoluminescence (PL) of MIP@MAPbBr PQDs was enhanced due to the surface passivation of defects by BaP. PL excitation and emission spectra, X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared, and time-resolved PL studies suggest that the interaction between MIP@MAPbBr PQDs and BaP is a dynamic process.

Various exotic metal cations commonly coexist with ferrihydrite nanoparticles in natural environments. Lack of knowledge about the metal cations effects on ferrihydrite nucleation and growth greatly blights the deep understanding of ferrihydrite mineralogical properties and reactivities, and thus the fates of associated nutrients, heavy metals/metalloids, and organic pollutants. Here, the nucleation processes and mechanisms of ferrihydrite nanoparticles in the presence of Al or Cr were studied by combining visible spectroscopy, quick X-ray absorption fine structure spectroscopy and quantum chemical calculations.
