Herein, and based on the pharmacophoric features of doxorubicin (Dox); 133 steroids were screened to assess their ability to act as TOP II inhibitors for the discovery of those with promising anticancer activity. The cytotoxic inhibitory concentration 50 (IC) of the investigated steroids was determined against H1299, CaCo2, MDA-MB-468, and FaDu cancer cell lines and compared to Dox. Fluticasone propionate and fusidic acid exhibited the most potent antiproliferative effect against the MDA-MB-468 with IC values of 10.

Introduction: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is one of the most common neurodegenerative disabilities that often leads to memory loss, confusion, difficulty in language and trouble with motor coordination. Although several machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL) algorithms have been utilized to identify Alzheimer's disease (AD) from MRI scans, precise classification of AD categories remains challenging as neighbouring categories share common features.
Methods: This study proposes transfer learning-based methods for extracting features from MRI scans for multi-class classification of different AD categories.

Neuroplasticity, the brain's ability to reorganize and adapt, has traditionally been attributed to external stimuli, learning, and experience. However, emerging research highlights the gut microbiota as a key modulator of neuroplasticity through the gut-brain axis. This review examines the mechanisms by which intestinal microorganisms influence brain function, including microbial metabolite production, immune system modulation, neurotransmitter synthesis, and hormonal regulation.

Effective sample design has a major role in the quality of parameter estimation in statistical parameter estimation issues. The ranking set sampling (RSS) strategy is effective and a less costly option than simple random sampling (SRS). A novel mixture continuous lifetime distribution that has been proposed recently is the power Chris-Jerry distribution (PC-JD).

The development of efficient drug delivery systems for hydrophobic anticancer drugs like Olaparib (OLA) remains a critical challenge in cancer therapy. This study presents a comprehensive investigation of OLA-loaded zinc oxide nanoparticles (OLA@ZnO) through integrated experimental and computational approaches to optimize pH-responsive drug delivery. ZnO nanoparticles were synthesized via a sol-gel method and characterized using SEM, XRD, FTIR, and UV-Vis spectroscopy, revealing successful OLA loading through Zn²⁺-carbonyl coordination and π-stacking interactions.

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a pervasive neurodevelopmental condition that typically manifests during childhood. Its symptoms manifest much earlier-often before the age of seven. With the disorder's continuous patterns of inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsiveness, it gets in the way of academic, social, and occupational performance.

This study investigated the degradation of tetracycline (TCN) antibiotic catalytic activation of periodate (PI, IO ) using a novel composite catalyst composed of green-synthesized magnetite nanoparticles supported on water lettuce-derived biochar (MWLB). Characterization results revealed that the magnetic biochar possessed a porous structure, abundant surface functional groups, and high carbon and iron contents. Compared to conventional oxidants such as persulfate, hydrogen peroxide, and peroxymonosulfate, the PI-activated system demonstrated superior degradation efficiency.

The oncogenic transcription factor MYC drives proliferation, metabolism, and therapy resistance in the majority of human cancers, yet its large, nuclear protein-protein interface has long frustrated direct drug discovery. A pivotal breakthrough was the identification of Tribbles pseudokinase 3 (TRIB3) as a high-affinity scaffold that binds the helix-loop-helix/leucine zipper region of MYC, blocks the E3-ubiquitin-ligase, UBE3B, from tagging critical lysines, and thereby prolongs MYC protein half-life while enhancing MYC-MAX transcriptional output. This review integrates structural, biochemical, and in vivo data to show how genetic deletion or pharmacological eviction of TRIB3 collapses MYC levels, silences its gene program, and suppresses tumor growth in B-cell lymphomas and selected solid tumors.

Medicinal plants, rich in secondary metabolites, play a crucial role in drug development. Climate change, driven by industrialization, affects plant growth and the production of these metabolites. The research explores how climate change influences the phytochemical profile as well as the antioxidant and antidiabetic activities of The three samples were subjected to contrasting climatic conditions, ranging from a normal climate to progressively intensified combined heat and drought stress over 4 years (Sample 1 under normal seasonal temperature and rainfall; Sample 2 with a 5 C temperature increase and 50% reduced irrigation; and Sample 3 exposed to a 10 C temperature rise and 75% water deficit).

As global life expectancy rises, a growing proportion of the population is affected by dementia, particularly Alzheimer's disease (AD) and Frontotemporal dementia (FTD). Electroencephalography (EEG) based diagnosis presents a non-invasive, cost effective alternative for early detection, yet existing methods are challenged by data scarcity, inter-subject variability, and privacy concerns. This study proposes lightweight and privacy-preserving EEG classification framework combining deep learning and Federated Learning (FL).

Background: Neurogenic cough is a chronic condition characterized by persistent coughing that is unresponsive to conventional treatments. It is thought to result from sensory neuropathy of the laryngeal nerves, leading to heightened cough reflex sensitivity. Current management strategies include neuromodulating medications and speech therapy, but these are often ineffective or associated with significant side effects.

Accurate assessment of intracranial aneurysm rupture risk, particularly in Middle Cerebral Artery (MCA) aneurysms, relies on a detailed understanding of patient-specific hemodynamic behavior. In this study, we present an integrated framework that combines Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) with Proper Orthogonal Decomposition (POD) and machine learning (ML) to efficiently model pulsatile blood flow using a Casson non-Newtonian fluid model, without incorporating fluid-structure interaction (FSI). Patient-specific vascular geometries were reconstructed from DICOM imaging data and simulated using ANSYS Fluent to capture key hemodynamic factors, including velocity components, pressure, wall shear stress (WSS), and oscillatory shear index (OSI).

Compared to existing research on foreign language anxiety (FLA) and motivation, which focus on learning English as a foreign language (EFL), research on anxiety and motivation in learning Chinese as second or foreign language remains limited. Therefore, this study aims to examine the impact of anxiety and motivation on learning Chinese as a foreign language (CFL), as well as investigate the relationship between anxiety and motivation among CFL learners, with the primary factors that could contribute to increasing anxiety and motivation levels. Employing a correlational design, 66 first-year intermediate school CFL learners participated in this study.
