Department of Radiation Oncology, Institut de cancérologie de l'Ouest, Saint-Herblain, France.

The purpose of the first three editions of the guidelines for external radiotherapy procedures (RecoRad™, published in 2008, 2016 and 2021 respectively), was to issue recommendations aimed at optimising, harmonising and standardising practices. The purpose of this fourth edition, follow the same plan and takes into account recent technological improvements along with findings from literature. We report two cases of Elizabethkingia-related infective endocarditis, highlighting key risk factors such as prosthetic valve replacement. These cases underscore the need to consider endocarditis in the setting of persistent or recurrent bacteremia. Diagnosis proved challenging and required multiple imaging modalities, with positron emission tomography (PET) scan providing critical value when echocardiography was non-contributory.

Plastics are widely used materials composed of polymers and various additives to achieve specific properties. Their composition is often highly complex, particularly in post-consumer plastic waste. As mechanical recycling faces increasing limitations, chemistry-driven strategies are attracting growing interest to improve plastic recovery.

Reproductive senescence, the decline in any component of offspring recruitment with increasing age, has been well documented in mammalian females. Male reproductive senescence, however, is much less understood, partly due to the past complexities of getting reliable paternity assignment in the wild. Through a standardised literature search, we compiled age-specific reproductive data on both mating and reproductive success on 57 species encompassing 73 populations.

The surgical approach of ureteral stricture has changed dramatically over the past 15 years with the rise of robotic upper urinary tract reconstruction. This study aimed to evaluate the outcomes of all robotic ureteral reconstructions performed at a single academic center for ureteral stricture and to assess the predictive factors of stricture recurrence. The charts of all patients who underwent robot-assisted ureteral reconstruction between 2013 and 2024 at a single academic center were retrospectively reviewed.

Estimating Health State Utilities for IDH-Mutant Diffuse Glioma.

Background: Isocitrate dehydrogenase-mutant (mIDH) gliomas are malignant central nervous system tumours. After initial resection, patients with mIDH gliomas with favourable prognosis may live without receiving oncologic treatment for years, but ultimately patients will experience recurrence and require radio- and/or chemotherapy (RT/CT). Cost-utility analyses (CUA) can explore the value of treatments that delay recurrence and initiation of RT/CT.

Background: Studies examining the association of chronic kidney disease (CKD) with cancer risk have demonstrated conflicting results.

Methods: This was an individual participant data meta-analysis including 54 international cohorts contributing to the CKD Prognosis Consortium. Included cohorts had data on albuminuria [urine albumin-to-creatinine ratio (ACR)], estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR), overall and site-specific cancer incidence, and established risk factors for cancer.

Introduction: While many publications have been made on burnout of oncologists, few publications have been made on oncologists in France, and none focuses on positive markers of their psychological health. Our study is a national study that studies the role of exercise mode, determinants and consequences of positive markers of psychological health of oncologists in France.

Methodology: The survey was disseminated to oncologists (n=606) by the learned societies or cooperative groups of the different cancer specialties from May to July 2022.

The harmonization workshops of the leukemia committee of the Société française des cancers de l'enfant (SFCE) aim to establish practical recommendations based on the one hand, on data from the literature and international recommendations and, on the other hand, by consensus in the absence of formally proven data. Adolescent pubescent girls and young adults undergoing intensive chemotherapy treatment may present with heavy uterine bleeding (HUB). Data collected from 25 French centers showed that there was considerable heterogeneity in the management of HUB either in prophylaxis or curative strategy.

[Acute graft-versus-host disease therapy: Which third line treatment after steroids and ruxolitinib? (SFGM-TC)].

Bull Cancer

September 2025

Service d'hématologie, département d'oncologie, hôpitaux universitaire de Genève (HUG), faculté de médecine, université de Genève, Genève, Suisse. Electronic address:

Acute graft-versus-host disease (GVHDa) is one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT) patients. While the first-line consensus treatment has been based on systemic corticosteroid therapy for many years, ruxolitinib has recently been approved and has become the standard second-line treatment. Nevertheless, the effectiveness of ruxolitinib remains limited to 40 % of cortico-resistant patients, raising the crucial question of selecting a third-line treatment.

The effectiveness and tolerability of medicines can vary considerably from person to person, even at the same dose. This variation is influenced by many factors, including constitutional genetic characteristics. In fact, some people have genetic variations that are common and neutral in the population, known as polymorphisms, which can affect drug metabolism or make them more susceptible to certain adverse effects.

We present the case of a 54-year-old patient treated with cemiplimab, an immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI), for multiple basal cell carcinomas in the context of Gorlin Goltz syndrome. Gorlin Goltz syndrome is an autosomal dominant multisystem disorder characterized, among other features, by multiple early-onset basal cell carcinomas (BCCs). After receiving Cemiplimab, she developed aquaporin-4 antibody (AQP4-Ab) positive neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD).
