Article Abstract

A novel aqueous electrolyte incorporating tetraethylene glycol dimethyl ether (G4) and trace amounts of ZnI (HSG-I) is presented to enhance the sulfur conversion reversibility. G4 improves kinetics, stabilizes the interfaces, and enables uniform zinc deposition. Crucially, G4's ether groups coordinate I, mediating reversible I/I transformation to ensure efficient sulfur redox chemistry.

The polysulfide shuttling and sluggish sulfur redox kinetics hinder the commercialization of lithium-sulfur (Li-S) batteries. Herein, the fabrication of phosphorus (P)-doped iron telluride (FeTe) nanoparticles with engineered Te vacancies anchored on nitrogen (N)-doped carbon (C) (P-FeTe@NC) is presented as a multifunctional sulfur host. Theoretical and experimental analyses show that Te vacancies create electron-deficient Fe sites, which chemically anchor polysulfides through enhanced Fe─S covalent interactions.

The bioconversion of purple non-sulfur photosynthetic bacteria (PNSB) based on real food waste (FW) fermentation broth is crucial for FW resource recovery. This study enhanced the bioconversion efficiency of FW fermentation broth by PNSB through light intensity and photoperiod optimization, while elucidating the synthesis mechanisms of high-value cell inclusions. The results demonstrated that 4500 lx-L/D = 16/8 significantly enhanced R.

Emission factor data for existing heating appliances are being used to estimate achievable emission reductions with emerging heating technologies. However, the emission factors currently being used for modeling were developed prior to low-sulfur fuel standards and rely on a small number of studies, mostly focusing on steady-state operation. In this work, detailed emission measurements of typical heating equipment fired with natural gas and No.

Lithium-sulfur batteries have been regarded as a promising candidate for next-generation energy storage systems owing to their high energy density and low cost. Sulfurized polyacrylonitrile (SPAN) as a cathode material has received wide interest due to the solid-solid conversion mechanism, while the Li-SPAN cell performance has been limited by the notorious issue of lithium metal anode. Developing solid-state electrolytes for lithium-sulfur batteries with favorable electrode-electrolyte compatibility is urgently desired.

Unlabelled: Dimethylsulfoniopropionate (DMSP) is one of the most abundant organosulfur molecules on Earth. It possesses various physiological functions in microorganisms and plays key roles in the global climate regulation. BurB, a SET (Suppressor of variegation, Enhancer of zeste and Trithorax) domain-containing enzyme identified from , initiates DMSP synthesis by methylating methionine (Met) to -methyl-methionine (SMM), with -adenosyl methionine (SAM) as a methyl donor.
