This study aims to examine and compare the effectiveness of dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI) and Digital Subtraction Angiography (DSA) in evaluating hypervascular spinal metastases. A comprehensive literature review was conducted, utilizing top-tier databases such as PubMed, Scopus and Google Scholar, to compile an authoritative and up-to-date overview of the current advancements in the field. We synthesized key studies focusing on the advantages, limitations and efficacy of both imaging techniques. DCE-MRI provides a non-invasive method for evaluating tissue morphology, perfusion and vascularity, offering valuable information for cancer diagnosis and treatment monitoring. In contrast, DSA is an invasive procedure primarily used for embolization and diagnosing cerebrovascular events. Both modalities have distinct features regarding image acquisition, contrast agents, resolution and accessibility. DCE-MRI shows promise for cancer-related applications, offering advantages over conventional MRI by incorporating anatomical and hemodynamic parameters. While DSA remains important for cases requiring critical vascular information, further research is necessary to explore its potential therapeutic benefits in assessing vessel patency. Continued investigations are crucial to uncover additional insights and therapeutic applications for both DCE-MRI and DSA in medical imaging.

Objective: To report a novel clinical entity, "Multi-regional Sequential Pain Syndrome" (MRSPS), and evaluate the relationship between hypoperfusion, cryptogenic vertebral artery dissection (CVAD), and MRSPS.
Methods: A 59-year-old female patient, with a chronic MRSPS condition spanning 10-30 years, underwent a comprehensive diagnostic evaluation including cranial CTA, MRI, DSA, and CT perfusion, culminating in the identification of CVAD via dynamic contrast-enhanced computed tomography (DCE-CT). The treatment strategy integrated repairing CVADs with stent implantation to address the hypoperfusion and MRSPS.

Objective: This study aimed to assess the utility of dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI) in evaluating blood supply for spinal tumors and its predictive value for intraoperative blood loss and transfusion requirements during spinal tumor surgery.
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed clinical data from 20 patients with single vertebral tumors who underwent surgery at the Affiliated Hospital of Hebei University of Technology between December 2018 and December 2020. Patients were categorized based on DCE-MRI into two groups: those with tumors indicating rich blood supply (15 patients, with 12 undergoing preoperative embolization) and those with non-rich blood supply tumors (5 patients, without embolization).

Objectives: Digital subtraction angiography (DSA) is the current gold standard for diagnosing spinal dural arteriovenous fistulas (SDAVF). However, DSA is invasive and associated with risks such as ionizing radiation and iodine contrast allergy. Contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance angiography (CE-MRA) with high temporal/high spatial resolution allows dynamic multiphase contrast-enhanced imaging with excellent detail.
