Article Abstract

Infectious diseases caused by lead to massive death of fish, compose a serious threat to the global aquaculture industry, and constitute a risk to humans who deal with raw fish. In order to realize the early diagnosis of , and control the outbreak and spread of disease, it is of great significance to establish fast, sensitive, and convenient detection methods for . In the present study, two methods of real-time MIRA (multienzyme isothermal rapid amplification, MIRA) and MIRA-LFD (combining MIRA with lateral flow dipsticks (LFD)) for the gene of were established, which could complete amplification at a constant temperature of 42 °C within 20 min. Real-time MIRA and MIRA-LFD assays showed high sensitivity (97 fg/μL or 7.6 × 10 CFU/mL), which were consistent with the sensitivity of real-time PCR and 10 times higher than that of PCR with strong specificity, repeatability simplicity, and rapidity for originating from . In summary, real-time MIRA and MIRA-LFD provide effective ways for early diagnosis of in aquaculture, especially for units in poor conditions.

This paper presents the development of a transmitter that transforms intermittent glucose sensors (isCGM) into a continuous and real-time glucose monitoring system (c-rtCGM), a key component in automated insulin delivery systems. The transmitter enhances the capabilities of conventional intermittent sensors by leveraging Near Field Communication (NFC) technology to capture raw glucose value and automatically transmit it via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE-Bluetooth 4.2 Dual-Mode) to a smart device every five minutes.

Background: The assessment of drug craving is common in survey studies, including those using real-time data collection methods, such as Ecological Momentary Assessment (EMA). However, few studies investigate how participants with chronic pain interpret the word 'craving' and how interpretations impact survey responses.

Methods: We conducted a mixed-methods study among 12 individuals with chronic pain who were using prescription opioids and cannabis.

Objectives: Rhinoplasty is among the most commonly performed esthetic surgeries globally, with osteotomies playing a critical role in modifying nasal bone structure. The ideal osteotomy procedure aims for precision and minimal complications. Although navigation systems have advanced in various surgical fields, their use in rhinoplasty is still developing.

Mpox is a zoonotic disease caused by the Mpox virus (MPXV). The rapid and accurate diagnosis of MPXV is essential for the timely and effective prevention, control, and treatment of the disease. In this study, we combined Multienzyme Isothermal Rapid Amplification (MIRA) (at 42 °C) and Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats/CRISPR-associated protein 12b(CRISPR/Cas12b) (at 60 °C) to develop a single-tube two-step assay for rapid MPXV detection, leveraging the distinct physical states of tricosane at these temperatures.

Background: Human T-cell lymphotropic virus-1(HTLV-1) infection may lead to adult T-cell leukemia, HTLV-associated myelopathy/tropical spastic paraplegia, and various neurological diseases. Therefore, developing a rapid and accurate detecting method is crucial for preventing and controlling HTLV-1 infection. This study aims to develop and validate a detection assay for HTLV-1 proviral DNA by combining multienzyme isothermal rapid amplification(MIRA) and lateral flow dipstick(LFD) techniques.
