The post-translational modification of histones has been implicated in the regulation of cellular lifespan. Previously, we reported that cellular aging is associated with increased ubiquitylation of histone H2B and methylation of histone H3 at lysines 4 and 79 in yeast telomeric heterochromatin. Here, we show the antagonistic role of Set2 methyltransferase, which is specific for histone H3 at lysine 36, in regulating telomeric silencing and cellular lifespan. We observed that an intermediate state of chromatin, namely, unstable ON telomeres, exists when a gene is switched on near telomeres. This unstable state of chromatin is temporally maintained in a transcription-dependent manner and is preferentially restored to its original heterochromatic state, namely, OFF telomeres. We found that Set2 suppresses the restoration of unstable ON telomeres to the stable OFF state and promotes cellular aging. Our results suggest that the accumulation of unstable ON telomeres maintained by Set2 is one of the features of aged cells.

The diamide insecticide cyantraniliprole (CYA) and the triazole fungicide difenoconazole (DIF) are frequently co-detected in bee-related matrices. However, the interactive effects of these compounds on honey bee (Apis mellifera L.) physiology remain insufficiently elucidated.

Background And Objective: Connexin43 (Cx43), encoded by Gja1, forms gap junctions between adjacent cells. In adipose tissue, it is upregulated during adipose beiging while downregulated by high-fat-diet (HFD) feeding. Adipocyte-specific Gja1 overexpression enhances adipose tissue beiging in response to mild cold stress of room temperature.

Pyroelectrodynamic therapy (PEDT) of tumors faces challenges due to its low electrocatalytic efficiency at mild temperature and the potential for off-target toxicity to healthy tissue. To overcome these issues, we have engineered pyroelectric nanoparticles (NPs) that feature a pH-triggered heterojunction structure and tumor-selective reactive oxidative species (ROS) production, faclitating synergistic PEDT and mild photothermal therapy (PTT). Herein, molybdenum trioxide (MoO) was deposited in-situ on the surface of tetragonal BaTiO (tBT) to create tBT@MO.

Background: With the rise of regenerative medicine and geroscience, translational research has shifted focus from lifespan to healthspan-years lived in good health. Applied to aesthetic medicine, the authors introduce the concept of "skinspan," to both describe the period during which skin maintains a youthful, healthy appearance, and additionally to serve as a tool for the cosmetic consult.
Aims: The aim of this comprehensive review is to illuminate "skinspan" as a framework for guiding long-term skin health.

Spiro-OMeTAD has remained the benchmark hole-transporting material (HTM) in state-of-the-art perovskite solar cells, owing to its favorable energy level alignment and excellent interfacial compatibility. However, its practical implementation is critically hindered by the intrinsic instabilities introduced by conventional dopants such as lithium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide (LiTFSI) and 4-tert-butylpyridine (tBP). While these dopants enhance electrical conductivity, they concurrently initiate multiple degradation pathways-including ionic migration, radical deactivation, and moisture/thermal-induced morphological failure-thereby compromising device longevity and reproducibility.
